In this video I discuss zombie apocalypse training. How would you train for a hypothetical zombie apocalypse or alien invasion? Should you find yourself in that situation, which skills and abilities would serve you best and increase your chances of survival?
I think having a 'reason' to train is always a good idea - otherwise it is technically 'exercise' and not 'training'. But if you're not an athlete or a member of the special forces, what is there to train 'for'? One option is a hypothetical scenario like zombie apocalypse!
Training in all modalities doesn't quite work due to something called the interference principle. But if you pick the right complementary training styles, you can emerge an all-rounder with a great chance of survival. Let the discussion commence below!
I would choose THE BIONEER !!!! He's prepared for everything and together, i know we can make Iron-Suits xD
Haha thanks man! I am up for that!
that is so criiiiiiiiingyy
@@osamae6944 not letting other people enjoy their own happiness is cringy, sad cringe to be specific. But I suppose you're not ready for that conversation, cause if so then you could've easily learned this yourself.
And before you call me edgy, look inwards. (Also you don't have to tell me what I already know)
@@catcat4697 bro you're fkn edgy af lmaooo yo profile picture says it all you look like the emo kid at school that nobody likes 😂
@@broskii_9870 and you're just mad cause I do it while looking good as fuck.
Don’t forget fieldcraft! Being able to make medicine, find water, build shelter, cross difficult terrain, hunt for food, and properly build things like traps or ambushes are all extremely useful in survival scenarios.
I think training for the show American Ninja Warrior combines all these aspects really nicely into one specific goal. Balance, speed, cardio, agility, grip strength, upper body endurance, explosiveness, and functional strength are all trained. That plus parkour and martial arts is mainly how I train.
True! I think a couple of people who follow this channel have mentioned training for Ninja Warrior. I'm debating enterring the UK one :-D It is an awesome show and awesome test. With I had one of those assault courses in my garden...
Absolutely go on the U.K. version! I'm going to go on the American one next year. I've been competing locally and it's so much fun.
@@TheBioneer The best people to have would be a quality MOS0918, a MOS0932, and MOS1913 from the marine corp and a few SWAT guys, someone like me (Engineer who is going to become an electrician also) and doctors/chemists.
Id throw in firearms and survivor training
Include also metabolic exercises like fasting for a longer period of time to train the body to be a fat burner and still have energy to survive, fight and escape.
Cameron Hanes = Ultimate zombie killer. The guy is a bowhunting athelete, excellent shape, hits a target at 160 yards and seems to be very humble and calm. I'd pick him for shtf over Bruce Lee any day.
Steffen W. von Brandenstein keep hammering
When you said "high ground", I was waiting for Obi Wan to appear.....
I like the way you think Adam! I'll pick you for my team
Haha sweet!!
2 people from NASA heard you mention aliens and disliked this video
Haha! Maybe it was Umbrella Corp?
Bruce Lee 100% he always seemed prepared for anything !!
Yeah pretty sure this is what he was doing lol!
Thats the reason he trained so much. To be prepared for the apocalypse.
Yes in movies.
@@elohansen8971 your really dum ok
Bruce can fight and he had carried a 350 magum
This is my favourite "health style" UA-cam channel 🙌 this guy should have way more recognition an actual factual channel rather then that basic 'look at my abs and buy my shit' that so many fitness youtubers do
Thanks a lot, I appreciate it :-D
running far and often is the best training, if shit goes down ill be 50 metres in the opposite direction before you even know whats happening
For sure! Also: run the opposite way from the big crowds!
And I'll be at the start line, with your girl, my gigantic traps and bi's, smoking a cigar, and bullying every thing that comes past me into a locker. A nerds a nerd, zombie or no dude. You just enforce dominance. Why even waste time running when you can just bullying anything in your path?
fine you stay and play tough guy, the distraction will ensure my getaway, they will be to busy eating you to notice me.
@@amrfts 😂😂😂
@@DiamorphineDeath 😂😂😂😂
I'd pick a bodybuilder with lots of mass. He'll be a slow runner and would be feeding himself to multiple zombies while i make my escape :)))
Lol I love how everyone is picking people they can outrun lol!
:))I'm gonna do only calistenics and parkour. Also, lot's of sprints!
But distance yourself also from bodybuilders, you'll will not like them if they hungry.
@@TheBioneer usain bolt. a 6'5 guy who would tower over most zombies and a guy who can easily outrun anyone? Sign me up
Lol
“Why pick one thing? Why not be a Jack of All Trades?”
Thank you so much for saying this 😂 I have always lived by this mindset, I cannot fathom doing one thing and one thing only, but I will absolutely get Great at something along side many others.
I need constant stimulation, my brain goes fast lol.
“Master of None; But an Expert in All.”
Great video, a video on being injury proof would be cool, I know you can’t be fully injury proof but I mean being less likely to get injured.
Thanks! I've got a few things like that in the pipeline :-D
David Goggins! Ultra runner, ex military and all around bad ass. Stay hard
thought the same lol
Funny, I “run” 2-6 miles almost daily on a hill and parkour off walls, banks, and whatever looks fun to jump or flip over, as well as jump up and climb several trees on my path. It’s mostly training for fencing, so it’s lots of footwork and changing movements with slow control to explosive lunges and jumps. It seems to help with surfing, snowboarding, and downhill mountain biking as well. Probably climbing trees is some of the best now that I can flip out of trees and cork off trees as well now.
Thanks for your videos!
There are actually many programs out now for the "tactical athlete" which are designed for military and law enforcement personnel. These types of programs are structured much like you are suggesting, with a combination of strength training as well as explosiveness and steady state cardio.
Zombie apocalypse was my "motivation" when I started exercising.
Original I was training for a zombie themed OCR run
I’ll train my grip strength until its like the grip strength of hanayama.....if you know you know😉
Wowwww finally found someone who thinks same as me 🦾
you need to train ur forearm for that right?
@@sander4661 ye
I'd rate being decisive, resourceful, inventive, experienced in various fields, and having good social skills above all physical traits.
Your brain isn't worth much if it's being eaten.
lol, I was about to say that you should have shown ob-wan when mentioning the high ground, but indeed you did. well played.
I am glad running with my dogs is the perfect cardio for running away from zombies since there is quite random sprints along with steady state cardio in between
Military special forces, seems it would incorporate little everything along with mental toughness
Special Forces are only good when they aren't fighting the main character. When the main character comes on scene, they lose all their skills. Unless the main character IS special forces.
Man that music intro gets me into an cyberpunk/post-apocalypse mind state
I almost look forward to the apocalypse, The TV shows make it look so much fun
Haha! I know right? I think we have a problem...
Also probably ninjutst because the kind I'm thinking of is not just a martial art it's also survival, stealth, espionage, improvised weaponry, meditation, climbing, swimming, a sort of parkour like training and body conditioning. Among other things.
Special ops training is the best to train to prepare for any kind of situation. When I was on boot camp, we were doing bodyweight training, we did team training, like solving problems within a team,we had fight training
Shoot, get Chuck Norris as your companion, get him a megaphone, and he’ll tell the zombies to go back into their graves. BOOM!!! Not only did you survive the zombie apocalypse, you ended it in like 30 seconds, and by you, I mean Chuck Norris 😂
You might be onto something
This is amazing! Especially for me because this is really similar to my lifestyle. Awesome!
Well a bodybuilder could be handy to move the waste around and also a good distraction if the biters realy should come to close...
I would be picking David Goggins of course
Love ur videos man...I just found ur channel not so long ago n subbed. I like the content here.....I think u love what u do and it shows....thanks heaps for sharing your piece of mind...the way the world is going right now,..... it'll pay to be prepared.........for anything👍☺👌....
Thank you sir and I look forward to ur next one.....
Thanks! Glad you're enjoying it and welcome aboard! Yeah I do love it :-D Unfortunately, you're probably right about the way things are going :-|
Interference principle is the biggest issue with cross training in martial Arts. It's important to think it through. Mixing from kung fu to hard style karate might not be the best idea due to it for example. But mixing karate and Judo on the other hand has less of an interference
Thanks for mentioning it.
Ever considered war veterans with extreme experience? I mean best of both worlds, little bit of hand-to-hand combat training and a skilled marksman if possible in larger success rate of accurate infected/savage human kills and got hunting/tracking skills. Although I would also like to be accompanied with a science nerd with professions in the field of chemistry ( in creating homemade explosives and medicines), biology (i.e. botany and zoology to identify animal predatory behaviour and prey migration patterns, and to know the difference between edible plant materials to hazardous and poisnous ones) kinda late but this video seems very interesting to watch 😊
Awesome channel.
1+ subscribe.
My opinion: running, parkour, bodyweight exercises and MMA.
I like this. I agree
Overcoming isometric + parkour + martial arts = ultimate survivor
Yours is the best channel on you tube so far. The variety of important information you design is priceless. Keep it up!!!!
Boxing for top mama for a base of kicking and grappling kickboxing and Moy thia for the leg game then bjj and judo for going to grown those the martial art list in my opinion
Ronnie Coleman with me,so he gets eaten first.
You don't have to run faster than the zombies - just faster than the other dude you're with!
Patrick Star he'd pick up an axe swing around taking down dozens of the weak barlly walking bastards
Those gigantic bodybuilders are dangerous than zombies, they can eat anyone if they're hungry during that time.
YEAH BUDDY
😂
He Adam, just got your book. 1st chapter is amazing !
I was about to make a high ground joke but then saw you include the clip in from starwars, you beat me to it.
I can seriously binge allllll your videos
thanks to you too for your awesome videos.
You have a lot of wisdom on the subject of fitness.
Thats very cool.
I’ve trained both ways. High interval body weight and kettlebell circuits coupled with some running including sprints was the most complete training. I do Martial arts so bulk works against me for multiple reasons. In sparring we use cardio and muscular endurance for extended periods.
I already work out but now every day I am jumping up the steps in my garden and I'm gradually increasing the amount of steps I go up
Hey bioneer thanks for your incredible videos.
There is a movie I want to highly recommend you called District B-13 and you would absolutely adore if you haven't seen it already!
You are a genius in terms of fitness specially mental fitness and fighting fitness.
Calisthenics, powerlifiting and parkour
I think archery training would be more useful than firearms training. One, because it would be quieter, allowing you to pick them off without drawing too much attention; and two, because it's more likely you can fashion a workable bow with found materials than you would a gun. Also with martial arts, I bet one of the benefits would be, since you train balance, being able to hide quietly in an awkward space, while holding an awkward position.
Dude I was watching the Bourne Ultimatum and you look exactly like Jason Bourne!
Lol thanks! I get this quite a lot lately!
In your example of swimmers on average having a lower jump heigth you didn't mention how in swimming body types with shorter limbs and larger torsos are favored for effectivity, versus jump heigth is easier for body types with smaller torsos and longer limbs so you can't completely blame it on their specificity
Seabastin Focan ,are you kidding. Bruce is the man but running is the key to survival in the zombie apocalypse
Yeah true for sure. After a special operative I think my pick would definitely be a traceur
he's gonna outrun you and youre gonna get eaten
Running is key
But having someone else who can run ain't gonna help you much
Loaded Endurance - Train to ruck and run far and fast.
Functional Strength - Train to be efficient at lifting equipment & gear of odd shapes and sizes, and be able to drag and fire carry people.
Tactical Mobility - Train to be able to easily over and through urban, uneven, and rugged terrain.
Grip Strength - Train to carry gear in your hands, climb ropes, building and boulders, grab things and be capable at grappling with people.
Water Skills - You'll need to retrieve water, cross large bodies of water or escape non-swimmer type zombies, so train your rescue swimming just in case.
god DAMN i cannot get enough of your videos
Another excellent video!
Well done!
Belle. As we learned from Dying Light, parkour skills are essential in a zombie apocalypse. Doesn't matter good your kung fu is; you will eventually get overwhelmed by the numbers if you can't escape and get to higher ground. Pretty sure Bruce Lee could do that too, but... Belle's is the more crucial specialization.
Great video!
You have been a very good help ,Thank you
the way the world is going, this video is becoming less and less fantasy, and more and more practical advice everyone needs to listen to.
Thanks for a highly entertaining video and some great survival tips .
I would have all
Fun fact: Bruce Lee was so focused in his Martial Art that he never learned how to swim nor how to ride a bike...Cool Channel, I'm subscribed. 😎👍
Lol Bruce lee he got money 💴 he can hires u lmao
Wait....didn't he ride a bike before every workout? Or was that just an exercise bike?
I'd pick the Bioneer and Tim Kennedy to be on my apocalypse team!
Learning movement in stealth would be a must
for skill days has practising doing magic tricks ever come up and any potential benefits to over all performance come up. Magic tricks are studied by some psychologists for various reasons as I have heard.
Got any videos for ambidextrous
Keep up the good work
0:25 Zombies definitely say it's all about brains.
I feel like I am Mr Anderson & you are Morpheus turning me into NEO
Why
the most underestimated thing about zombie apocalypse, is intel about zombies. what are they, what they can do, how dangerous they are in urban area ? can they jump ? can they move like a human ? because of they are like humans, they can climb, sprint. maybe you gonna find some zombie of endurance runner. then you are screwed. best endurance runners are able run ultramaratons without rest or 42km maraton in 2,5 hours. record is around 2 hours. if you meet bodybuilder zombie ? they gonna be less likey to exist, more muscle, more energy required. therefore he is cannibal or there are some people alive around that area. if you know your enemy, you can use best weapon. tactics.
free runner for sure if you trying to run which you probably should in a zombie apocalypse.
I am in an Isometric phase of my training, and as I either get bored or stagnant in what I am doing then on to weights or body weights for a while.
I feel like I am basically doing this already as a Boxer. Just need to add some parkour training.
Your videos are so motivating
Great Content as always
Love the channel, man
Workout IS training divided into sessions still all leading to one goal what even
games for zombie training: arizona sunshine. fallout4 vr. it has the fast zombies.
this is really cool content
Myamoto Mushashi
As you said people like drama
Zombie apocalypse (though utter nonsense) is much scarier than other realistic scenarios
So it's good to be prepared when shit is going down and be ahead of others
thank
Thanks. My ultimate team bruce lee for martial artist. Strong man brian shaw or hafpthor.cardio micheal bisping.
Awesome team. Brian Shaw would definitely be useful for lifting you out of rubble or carrying a big gattling gun...
And Bisping would be there to talk mad shit on those zombies.
I need this now
Well this is helpful during this day and age.
I can tell you who I wouldn't want...and that's the bodybuilder. I would want a team of varied individuals. Parkour/OCR guys would be great for supply runs. CrossFit guys and people with good physical preparedness (calisthenics) would be great for fighting zombies and other humans..you would need people with great muscular endurance, general fitness, hand eye coordination, stamina etc...as well as mental toughness. Bodybuilders would be useless unless used as fodder for zombies
Loved this video!
Thanks! :-D
Dying Light shows parkour is the best to know with some martial art
Arnald and Bruce during the Zombie attacks lol because they would be more affective. Heck even Stallone
"best kind of training" well theres hand to hand combat, then ranged combat, you also need people who can cook, hunt, knit, security personel... strange how people forget the basic homesteading skills
What about in an underwater apocolypse scenario? Oh or giant spiders!!
Haha giant spiders would be an epic one! Also gross...
i wouldn't chose the power LIFTER i would chose the power HITTER
The martial art thats best is
Pencak silat
Muay thai / muay boran
Wing chun cause sticky hands help u defend take control and evade grabs and holds from zombies
Tae kwon do
Krav maga
An several chinese arts also
The iron body training would also be useful along side the workouts ect.
Plenty of free runners know some martial arts so choosing parkour might come with a bonus depending on the person. I know both so myself is an example
I'd want Buakaw! Give him a mask and soccer shin pads and he'll kick over the zombies with ease
Awesome vid
Thanks!
Would love to team up with a strongman but they would eat so much food... I'd pick Netherbeast underground muscle lol big as fuck, nutrition expert, martial arts expert (don't ask) and a great guy.
Lol batman never said he's off to do some exercise!!
Lol, I also go around everyday preparing for these kinds of things, and yes even alien invasion and or the apocalypse.
You have touched on a point I've often wondered about - what sort of shoes does James Bond wear?
can you tell us what you do all day to be this much good
Lol thanks! TBH being self employed helps a lot with giving you time to train and also work on your own projects :-)
