If you are dating someone and you break up and he immediately starts sleeping with your mother, moves in, essentially becoming your step-daddy it's a pretty good indicator that you shouldn't leave your child in the care of that person or your mother.
    So gross. The entire thing.

I heard in another documentary that the dogs actually sniffed up towards the ceiling during the searches but for whatever reason, the police decided that there probably wasn't anything up there so they never took the dogs up to sniff the attic as well.. Who knows the daughter and the killer were still having sexual relationship and it was alright with the mother or grandmother or vice versa. And the only way to keep him is to allow him to have Tia. I know this is insane but both adult ladies are twisted. The mother involving herself with her daughter's ex, and Tia's mother allowing her to live in that house. 3 of them sick!

It's unfortunate that mother's and grandmother's radars were defective but I cannot fault them for that. This Hazel guy is either a sociopath or psychopath and it is well documented that they are able to manipulate and pretend to have feelings when they have none. How do you think Ted Bundy et al were able to murder so many people? There is only one person to blame here: Hazel.

When I was around 10 my mom left me with her sisters husbands dad for a few hours. I was trying to fall asleep when I felt him sit down on the bed and was trying to touch me. I yelled at him to leave me alone (I guess his wife wasn’t aware or even hear me??) and went downstairs to where my 11 year old brother was sleeping the couch. I never told anyone about it because I was afraid of the reaction of my mom & aunt and especially my uncle whose dad it was. Years later I found out he had been doing this to my cousin who lived in the same city and saw him way more often 😞.

Nicole, I understand what you're saying and your children are blessed to have you as their mother but please remember this: not everyone is evil, not everyone wants to harm you or your children.
One day you might need their help and if you cast them aside because you don't trust them around your children, that might do more harm than good because you'll not have anyone helping you.
Do be careful about who you surround yourself with but don't cast everyone aside.

I can't blame the dog. For the police to do a house search in the case of a missing child and not check the loft? Yet they found a tiny memory card behind a door frame downstairs which held the horrific photos of Tia after death. I know nothing about policing, but I believe there was an awful lot of man power in this case, and they couldn't get their heads together and say we must check the loft.

Once they saw all the cctv footage and they did not see Tai anywhere on camera, they just ignored the neighbour's claim. It happens all the time when horrible crimes are committed, people want to help and sometimes they get their signals crossed - it's up to the authorities to be able to discern fact from fiction which is why some murders are so difficult to solve if they ever get solved.

@jacqueline alicea - It's very easy to make snap judgements when you're not directly involved in the incident, it's a human response. However, blaming the family is wrong in every sense of the word. People want to believe in the goodness of others and if they are good people, it is very difficult for them to recognize evil when they are constantly manipulated. How do you think Ted Bundy and all of those other serial killers were able to kill so many? Because they are not human and they are masters at pretending to be human. Please refrain from blaming the family, the only person to blame is the Hazel and only Hazel.

What's the point of your comment? Do you disagree with what I wrote or agree? Please clarify. To answer your question: Yes this struck a nerve with me because my own child was diagnosed with psychopathic tendencies at 4 years of age and I found out the hard way about how psychopaths are pure evil, they pretend to have human feelings when their condition prevents them from having any feelings for anyone but themselves. So yes, it struck a nerve because my child was born this way and we did nothing to create it, we just had to find ways to cope and deal with it and we got blamed by people who did not know the specifics of our child's history and I'm tired of parents being blamed.

They wouldn't have searched the attic at first. When someone is initially missing (she wasn't suspected to have been dead at first) it's normal to check the whole house but only really places you'd expect a child to be, so not necessarily places like the attic or behind Bath panels etc. The police obviously don't go to every missing person report expecting them to have been murdered and concealed somewhere in the property
