    A couple of enhancements Dimitra: if you vigorously whisk a steady stream of olive oil into the cold lemon juice with the herbs and spices, it becomes a creamier consistency and suspends the herbs and spices better. Secondly, use the back end of your knives to move food off the cutting board, your blade edge and fingers will thank you. Otherwise your syntagi is on point! 🇬🇷

    I love lemony dressings, but my teenager does not so it's important for me to get the measurements correct. Is it 1/2 cup olive oil to 1/4 cup lemon juice to 1 tsp oregano? The written recipe says this, but the video looks like the measurements might be different. Thank you for the recipe!

    Hi Dimitra, Thanks for your unselfish dedication. I know the Cretan oil is the best on the planet. Can you share where one can buy a bulk amount of this delicacy in the USA or the internet? The bottled ones are very expensive and in this video you have used the carafe, so I assume you must have access to larger quantities? Thanks in advance for sharing :)

    • @DimitrasDishes
      @DimitrasDishes  7 років тому +2

      Let me research that for you. I'm so lucky to be my dad's daughter and get a portion of his yearly share directly from Crete!! I cherish that and use it carefully. It's expensive stuff. Believe me. I know, because I still have to purchase it when I run out. The good thing is, that I only use it for salads, dipping bread and anything that doesn't involve adding heat or cooking as that changes the flavor and properties. Let me search and see what I can find for you. Thanks so much for supporting my channel! I appreciate it.

Every doctor agrees you should have it daily. Cardiologist say the only point of eating is to get olive oil in. Fact check me 👍

    Does it have to just olive oil or does it have to be extra virgin olive oil? I find that when I use extra virgin olive oil my dressing tastes bitter, not sure why???

    • @bobbarker5884
      @bobbarker5884 8 місяців тому

      Because it's healthier. Soy oil tastes great, canola taste good too. But the better EVO's do taste a little bitter because the polyphenol content is much higher and the oil is not old and oxidized. Otherwise what's the point of using olive oil?
