Shohei has never said he doesn’t like to lead off when pitching. In fact he lead off many times when he was with the Angels. As long as he doesn’t bat third, things will be on. (If you bat third to start off a game and you’re the third out, you don’t have a lot of time to get ready for the mound)

Why people make things up? Ohtani NEVER said anything about not wanting to leading off while pitching If u want mookie leading off just say that instead
Sosa technical didnt mention steroids in his statement. He said he made mistakes. We can assume but it was a BS way to skate without actually saying the words.
No, via the analytics, the #1 spot in the lineup is the most valuable spot in the lineup and your best hitter SHOULD be there and to get them as many bats as possible.. anyone arguing otherwise is stuck in the old ways of Ohtani should be a 3/4 hitter bc hes a slugger. But ohtani hits for avg, power, and gets on base. hes DIFFERENT.
I mostly agree with you, except there's an argument to be made for having your best hitter bat second to maximize his at-bats with runners on base. If your best on-base guy isn't a power hitter, it's an easy decision to put him at leadoff. But when you have someone like Ohtani, the decision between leadoff and second is challenging.
@@LockedOnDodgers you do have a point. # of at bats would be the mostly the same. Until that one time you wish he was up in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs..
Jessica Mendoza.. I HATE the games she announces. I can not stand her. Not bc its a woman but bc of the stuff she says and that she seems to just be there and interrupts all the time. She is almost as annoying as the A's new head broadcaster.
I’ve never seen Kirsten announce a game. Are you confusing her with someone else? If you are simply misnaming her position (I would consider her an on-field reporter), I would disagree with you strongly on the quality of her work. In my opinion she is the best interviewer and asks good, sometimes even tough questions, but in a non-combative way. To each their own.
@@ajalvarez3111 Jacqueline is obviously mixing up Kirsten with another broadcaster (whose name we all know, but we won't grant Jacqueline's ignorant sexism the honor of actually learning the name of the person she(?) is criticizing). The fact that she(he?) immediately pivots towards a major criticism of the only other prominent female baseball broadcaster only serves to underline that sexism is the underlying premise to her (his?) so-called "opinions" .
@ Well, since K and J are both POC, maybe it’s racism. Or maybe Jacqueline just doesn’t like whatever announcer/reporter she is talking about. After all, I can’t stand Rachel Maddow…I don’t think that makes me sexist.
@@ajalvarez3111 But that's a false equivalency. There are all kinds of women in news broadcasting. Any other trades? Jim pahrump nv
Next year don’t expect Ohtani to steal a base, as he needs to concentrate on pitching.
He'll still steal bases, but not like he did in 2024. I'd expect around 20 stolen bases.
I hate when Eric Karros is on the games
When he pitching at away, #9. Otherwise #1.

@jacquelinelynch 1000% correct. Wish they could clone Ohtani and just have him bat up and down the line up.

Our previous episode talked a lot about Arenado.
Kim does NOT fit.
