    Wow 🤣. Really helps bring the images to life. I think for some images i might look at blending the hdr sky onto the standard image in PS and see how that looks.

    Dave, I watched your latest update for Topaz Photo AI this morning. Then updated the program and tried editing a photo. Great result with Photo AI, but I wished the program allowed color adjustments to finish the photo. On a lark, I opened the raw photo in Adjust AI. WOW! I had forgotten the power of Adjust AI! I used to think Adjust AI was ok but too slow. Now with a faster computer, it seems comparable to Photo AI and adds the features for adjustment left out of Photo AI. After watching this video, I am going back to try processing the raw photo in Topaz Photo AI and then exporting it to Topaz Adjust AI to do the final polishing. Thanks for your videos to remind us of the power of Topaz Adjust AI and Photo AI as powerful tools. Too bad Adjust AI is no longer available!

    I like what it does to the skies. Instead of running to Luminar to replace the sky, maybe I will try "Adjust AI" first. I expect a video on Adjust AI vs Luminar AI in the future.

    WOW. What a great video 👍
    I normally keep well clear of anything with HDR on it but here it's fantastic, especially the last image and the effect it has on the sky.
    I've just brought this programme when I topped up my bundle with everything bar Video enhance so I need to seriously start using it. Really makes images Pop.
    Could call it a one stop pop shop😊
    Thanks Dave

    HDR version of the dog had objectional color shift. Whites like snow on the roof above and behind the model in the robe gets burned out. The white saturation is too highlighted with a later HDR tweak. I usually with the RAW image in early POST bring down the highlights and up the shadows before starting with any HDR adjustments to lesson this burnout being so harsh. Using ON1 Photo RAW, HDR, Natural or Surreal I find similar issues requiring more tweaking and increased work flow. With the added POST, sometimes this little extra adjustment really makes the image pop without making it look too artificial, if done right.
    The best program Topaz has is DeNoise AI, by far and now ON1 is coming out with a competitive product NoNoise AI. I have taken surveys examining images for comparison for both products lately and for now am sticking with Topaz DeNoise AI. On the other hand since using ON1 Photo RAW HDR look filter I like it over this Topaz product. Topaz and ON1 have to solve the color shift that sometimes happens and down play the white burnout issue in their AI process to get me to move on their product from where I am at presently.

    Hi Dave, can you help please with a couple of queries I have. When I open AI it always opens on the presets page and not the Controls page, so I have to keep switching it. Second query, I have Topaz AI obviously, but I also have Topaz studio which has an AI adjustment. So have I bought two Topaz progs when one would do? Lastly, honest, I'm thinking a out buying Topaz Denise but denoise is in Studio as well, so do I need the separate package? Apologies for the interrogation Dave. Really enjoy your tutorials, friendly and packed with knowledge. Julie, South Wales UK

      Julie Morgan Dave will provide a better answer than me but here is my take. I just bought DeNoise. It has the option of applying DeNoise AI or AI Clear. Clear is the similar program in Topaz Studio 2. My take is that the filters in TS 2, CLEAR, SHARPEN, etc are good but their stand alone counterparts are stronger more effective programs with a few more options to customize. A word of caution on the stand alone programs. I have an older iMac and while Topaz Studio 2 runs fine on it both DeNoise and Sharpen are brutally slow and I doubt I will use them till I upgrade my computer.

    • @thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly

      Thank you and no apologies needed Julie. I think this will help concerning the presets: When you open Adjust Ai next time, go to the Preferences Panel, found in the Menu section at the top of the screen, and Open Preferences and change (Panel On Startup) to (Control) and you should be good to go the next time you open Adjust Ai. Concerning your 2nd and 3rd query, the DeNoise in Topaz Studio 2 is called Ai Clear, which is very good, but if you want the best noise reduction Topaz has to offer, then you would want DeNoise Ai. As a note, DeNoise Ai offers you 2 DeNoising and sharpening methods, DeNoise and Ai Clear. DeNoise is the best and I believe Ai Clear is the same as in Topaz Studio 2. I don't know why they give you both but they do. I hope this helps and thanks for watching my tutorials.

    Taking advantage of the 2023 BF special I acquired this. Is this app still in active dev? For my taste, the results look too saturated and if launching directly from LR there's no opacity slider. Thanks.

    Thanks Dave - I'm learning a lot from your vids. To me the HDR style is banding and looks over processed - I think this will be a matter of personal style. For now I will stick with Standard mode for my workflow. Also just a bit of f/b - when you are doing masking etc would you mind zooming in a LOT more please - when you compare before and after images it's very hard to see any difference due to compression of the video stream by youtube. So zooming in a lot makes this easier to work out what's happening.

    • @thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly
      @thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the feedback Paul and also for the zooming tip. I like to try both Standard and HDR Style just for comparison because you just never know what results you might get. I tend to use the Standard more often but sometimes the HDR Style can be really quite good.

  • @MrTheWaterbear

    For some of these, particularly the dog and the two boys, I don’t like the colour saturation applied disproportionally to certain shades. The auburn patches on the dog look way too bizarre, and the wall patch with paint chipped off likewise looks quite wrong. For the two boys, the blue shirt is really saturated to heck XD
    For many of those photos, the results were great! Just those two issues for me, personally.

    • @thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly
      @thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the feedback and for watching. I think I have to agree about the blue shirt. I would use the HSL Color tuning in Topaz Studio 2 and dial that back a bit. I do like the dog the HDR style on the dog though.

    Nice easy to follow tutorial Dave. Thanks. one small observation when I tried the HDR on some other photos, the sky becomes too blue while the other parts look perfect. What can I do to reduce the intensity of the blue sky, Opacity is not helping as it tends to change the overall look

    • @thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly
      @thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks Kareem. If you have Topaz Studio 2 you can send your image into it and use the HSL Color Tuning filter and target the Blues and pull back the saturation on the blues to taste. You can also due it with Photoshop using ACR Filter. You will find HSL correction there too.

    Dave, I am using Luminar 4 on every one of my photos now and wonder if I couldn't do the same thing there as opposed to

    • @thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly
      @thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly  4 роки тому

      You are welcome Leonard and that is a good question. Luminar 4 has Ai Enhance, which is similar, but is not really the same. Adjust Ai has Standard Mode (similar to Ai Enhance but different) and HDR Style (totally different from Ai Enhance) plus all of the controls that go well with the Two Ai Adjustments. When I compare the two products I get entirely different results. It appears to me that Adjust Ai is using Ai in some different ways than Luminar's Ai Enhance is.

      Thanks Brian. These were stock images that were already processed. One of the things I enjoy about Adjust Ai is that you can use it during the initial stages of your image processing or you can do it at the end or anywhere in between. I also like to go back to my old processed images and add that little something special to them that Adjust Ai gives me. It doesn't help every image but does so more often than not.

      @@briantooze3415 Adjust Ai is a pretty powerful piece of editing software. If you wanted a piece of software that would do a great job without a lot of editing, then Adjust Ai could fit that need and do a great job. It does support DNG, NEF, CR2 and many RAW formats. With that being said, you can load a RAW file into it and choose Standard or HDR Style and then use all of it controls to process your image. I am planning on doing a video that would show this in operation.
