A nice version ..I grew up listening to slade in the 70s ..it’s a song that lends itself to an acoustic rendition quite nicely …Noddy did a short acoustic version in the 90s tv show The Grimleys …it’s on UA-cam for those interested 👍👍
The end of the Grimleys, Noddy did an accoustic slightly slower version, which is fantastic, think this is faster, more like the original, bloody good tho.
I haven’t monetised my channel, I assume that because this is getting a decent number of views, the copyright holder has done it. Fair play to them, it’s their song. Just saying! 🙂
I've always like Slade, and they're one of the relatively few bands I've seen live (when our Pamela was at University in Manchester in the early '80's, they played the Apollo); I think I was deaf for a couple of days afterwards. Yours was a haunting beautiful version, Robert; much easier on the old ears these days!
You're very welcome.. I love your rendition like Noddy's which as you mention is too hard to come close in the voice but the guitar, the rhythm and all is like the original and as you say, those guys were real rockers although they dressed kind of funny... like Willy Wonka on drugs or something but boy could they rock and make good music.
Thanks Darren. It was originally a hit here in Britain for Slade in about 1973, but they never really cracked America, so the Quiet Riot version would be the best known there👍🏻🙂
Yes, Slade were a a very British group from the early seventies who originally had a hit with it (here). I think most non-brits know it from the quiet riot version 👍🏻
@@yamajams that Grimleys episode was what inspired me to do this, having seen how well it worked as an acoustic version (obviously better when Noddy did it!)

One of my favourite songs of all time, especially when it’s acoustic, you do a fantastic job Robert… Slade are such an underrated band… 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
С огромным наслаждением послушал эту версию. Низкий поклон из России в 2022 году!

This might be a few years after you first uploaded this but class lasts. 👌 That's a lovely version of a classic song. 👌👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🤟✌️
Thanks so much for your kind words! 👍🏻
In my head, I've been singing an acoustic version of this song for years - This is exactly what I was looking for.
Thank you so much
Thanks for your kind words Nicholas 👍🏻👍🏻

Mr Taylor Yes, it was that Grimleys version that inspired me to do this because the song worked so well on acoustic.
here is it - ua-cam.com/video/WWdwH6_Uzpc/v-deo.html
You've just made one song off the album all Slade fans want to hear, Slade Unplugged.
Maybe i should start a petition 🤔💖🎩
slade ippie as a Slade fan myself, I’d love to hear that album! 👍🏻

Must be a mistake of the ol' UA-cam bot. This is *your* work, covers shouldn't be claimed by the rights holders.

Not bad, better than Oasis, but Noddy Holder rules
