Noddy could have released The Greatest solo unplugged album of all time, yet sadly he never recorded it. He had the best rock ‘n’ roll voice ever, far better than all the much more famous front men. Thank you for sharing this awesome one off performance which proves beyond all doubt how amazing he still was at this time.
@Lisa Bennett just like zeppelin,he is overrated. and officially for the record plant always said they were a blues band and not a rock band. its all opinions. mine is there are loads better from then and now.
@Lisa Bennett yet again, thats just you're opinion. i have seen several polls regarding "the best" as you put it and all have a different opinion, because its an opinion thats all. rolling stone where you get you're "fact from is "their opinion" on a poll setup by them. you say you only like 15 zepp songs,so in that statement alone you cannot claim he is the best rock singer of all time, which he isn't as you need to listen to everything to make that assumption. personally i think you need to list to a lot more singers to hear a better class of voice and range. ronnie james dio ian gillan david coverdale paul rodgers don henley roger daltry kevin cronin bruce dickinson graham bonnet. the list is long and full of talent. and with the greatest of respect to plant a lot of his live singing was very ropey, you should check some out, starting with live aid, which he was panned for as it was that bad
Can you believe he took 3 very simple chords, Dm Am and Bm and came up with something so utterly brilliant as this!.wish I could do that.... and that voice is still amazing! I wish he would do an acoustic album of ALL those classic Slade hits though.
As a kid, I bought this record in 71 at WH smith in Swiss Cottage and then played it over and over. this is the first time I have heard this version and wow what a voice
PLEEEEEEEEEZZEE nod, let's have an album worth of this stuff before you retire. so the multitude of us 70's kids who grew up with your beautiful voice in their heads and hearts can really wallow in it. i would personally listen to nothing else for the rest of my natural... oh, and thanks for the compliment and handshake back in walsall, 98/99. i still tell the story as often as i can!
Thus is brilliant...big fan of Neville john holder...since ..I since around the age of 72....I was coming up to ten..but..his voice and Slade spoke to me..as life as a boy for me was not good most of the time..thank you Noddy Jim Dave and Don..Mel..58..
CONGRATULATIONS To The God That Is Nod - The Freedom Of The City, Sir-Walsall Town, The Heart of Slade County. "With My Head Up In The Clouds...And My Feet Down In The Crowds" Thank You Sir For Always Being A Light In Times Of Darkness.
В 1973 году вечером пошел с другом покупать к знакомому диск Slade "Sladest",который он привез из Москвы и по дороге где то посеял 40 рублей,до сих пор жалко и обидно,возможно и жизнь могла по другому сложиться.
OMGG! I have to show this to my mom! She's been one of Slades biggest fans since sometime in the early 80's when she snuck one of my albums from me that had Mama Weer All Crazee Now.
Saw them before they became famous, excellent musicians, we thought they had it to become a big band but in a different genre than Glam Rock, they were covering songs like Born to be Wild then.
One of my all time favourite singers, he and SLADE inspired me and the boys and it's great to hear this - still got THAT voice, keep on Rocking Noddy \m/
A PURE CLASSIC ,,THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL LOVE SONGS EVER WRITTEN..PLEASE LISTEN TO THE LYRICS AND COMPARE WITH THE ORIGINAL POLYDOR HOLDER /LEA RELEASE 1971 PAPER MIDDLE.VERSION..

If the first chord is Dmin, then the 3rd chord must be Bb major, not Bmin. The whole thing sounds a step down from that, Cmin, Gmin and Abmajor.
As a kid, I bought this record in 71 at WH smith in Swiss Cottage and then played it over and over. this is the first time I have heard this version and wow what a voice
What a great voice. Noddy is the best.
