When I look at some of today’s “superstars “ who have no doubt sold a zillion more records it makes me wonder how and why? Once met Dave Hill in a service station on the M5... All I can say is what an absolutely lovely man.
SLADE ВЕЛИКАЯ ГРУППА, С ЧУДЕСНЫМ ТВОРЧЕСТВОМ ! 💓💥🙂👍💥💓
I was 18 and my friend and I were far, far away from Liverpool. We cried when we got home to the sound of this song
Love this song. One of most permanent melodies and lyrics of my life. Great! Love this band.

Classic, Slade did some awesome songs , underrated and a West Midlands gem
I had forgotten about this Slade classic. Its brilliant - no song now can come close, the vocals are strong and original. love this band.
You cant think it's that fantastic since you forgot it?
A hugely underrated band. There fall baffles me to this day. They we’re not just a “singles “ band, they made great albums, were a great live act and a serious rock band. When I look at some of today’s “superstars “ who have no doubt sold a zillion more records it makes me wonder how and why? Shade are one of THE great rock bands who deserve a whole lot more respect then they get. Only in England could such a great band be written as mearly a foot note. If they had been American they would still be held up as a beacon of brilliance.
brilliant words nick
They weren't underrated Nick...they were massive!
@@kevinlyons1788 I agree, underrated is one of the most over used words on UA-cam.
Far Far Away Noddy Holder & Dave Lea
I've seen the yellow lights go down the Mississippi
I've seen the bridges of the world and they are for real/
I've had a red light off-the-wrist without me even getting kissed
It still seems so unreal
I've seen the morning in the mountains of Alaska
I've seen the sunset in the East and in the West /
I've sang the glory that was Rome And passed the 'Hound Dog' singer's home
It still seems for the best
And I'm far, far a-way
With my head up in the clouds
And I'm far, far a-way
With my feet down in the crowds
Letting loose around the world
But the call of home is loud
Still as loud
I've seen the Paris lights from high upon Montmartre
And felt the silence hanging low in No Man's Land/ /
And though those Spanish nights were fine It wasn't only from the wine
It still seems all in hand
I've seen the yellow lights go down the Mississippi
The Grand Bahama Island stories carry on
And though those aligator smiles Stay in your memory for a while
There still seems more to come
Forever Slade!
Yeah... My first rock'n'roll love...!! ❤❤
Epic song! Cheers!
Such sweet music makes me want to be 18 again but now I am 63 I miss the mid 70s and 80s
"The call of home is loud"...awesome lyrics--surely their best track
70s wouldn’t have been as good without the great sounds of slade 🇬🇧👍
