- Despite originating as a comic book character, Spider-Man is one of the most iconic characters in modern media.
With the Insomniac Spider-Man games being incredibly fun games in their own regards and some of my favourite games of all time!
Are they perfect? No, not at all, and this guy agrees with me. However their reasoning is pretty tough to take seriously.
Lets spend however many minutes watching this video and seeing if it's good or not!

I don’t think PSM hates the Insomniac games, he likes the gameplay, the story he is mixed on about.
I think he looked back on his older videos and decided to make better quality videos for everyone to enjoy

I've come to the conclusion that some people who hate on Insomniac's Spider-man games either never played them or didn't pay attention to them. Like some of their criticisms can be explained by the cutscenes or the dialogue between the characters, but they either don't pay attention or choose to ignore to fit their narrative. Another great video by the way.

Another thing everyone glosses over with MJ is that she apologizes for all the stunts she pulled. She was sick of being the damsel in distress and wanted to be the one to do the saving in a way that felt meaningful to her. She wasn’t criticizing Peter in the scene after the fire at FEAST, she was giving her reasoning while apologizing for the position she also put Peter in whenever she put herself in danger.
My issue with the MJ stealth missions is that it makes everyone else incredibly incompetent. Sable and the Hunters are built up to be incredibly skilled mercenaries that can give super powered people trouble. And MJ is able to sneak around all of them with ease by throwing rocks and jumping them with tasers. She didn’t even get the stun gun until her last stealth mission in the main game. It makes everyone around her in those missions seem like they left their glasses at home and turned their hearing aids off to explain how she’s able to slip past these highly trained mercenaries who’ve fought wars and captured supervillains. The narrative establishment and buildup contradicts the gameplay to justify MJ not dying. It doesn’t feel like capable skills on her part, but artificially dumbing down the enemies around her to make it possible for her to make it through anything. At least Spider-man 2 establishes some training she got in Symkaria, but it still feels like that wouldn’t measure up to the Hunters who have way more experience. It feels like MJ would be able to sneak around Kraven easily with what she manages to do. And her slapping a web shooter to her stun gun and somehow making that work within 5 seconds always felt like too much for me 😂
I’m not bashing on the characterization of MJ, just on how her sections make the factions that give Spider-man trouble seem like a bunch of idiots who can’t counter a reporter with a spunky attitude. And I guess the bland “I believe in the truth” can feel a bit preachy and generic without much development or background done beyond one backpack token establishing MJ was part of the Student Newspaper at Midtown.
You didn't acknowledge that most of the points you disagreed with weren't even from PSM and where from othe people tweets.
Plus he was using Twitter to show others opinions on the matter and made it clear he liked the game.
Using Twitter to do that is a stupid idea.
Insomniac Spider-Man is great he's better than the MCU version in my opinion. I love Insomniac Spider-Man he's as iconic as Arkham Batman.

Honestly, no matter what nitpicks people have with the game, I still love it. It was the whole reason I got my PS4 back in the day and it was probably one of the best decisions I ever made when it came to gaming
The insomniac games are peak and his characterization is peak deal with it. Also I watched this vid it's not bad he just talks to the wrong people. High top films video is peak tho

Fairly certain he wasn’t 100% positive about INSOM SM2…. Or at the very least it was comparable to his SM3 one where he mentioned that there was equal parts good and disappointing aspects to the story
@TheGamingRift11 his video on spider-man 2 the game was pretty positive he said he thought it's story was slightly worse than the first game but everything else was better
Another W vid, I love psm's channel, he usually be making the most W vids ever, but his vid was messy. But it was made a year ago, he prolly thinks diff now hopefully.
6:20 I think we should even take an official comic writer's advice with a little grain of salt. Using Dan Slott as example, do not take his word on MCU she hulk being the most accurate show (especially to his run on the character). It's similar in both setting and the characters that are being used, but the storylines and character arcs/motivations are like night/day.
