another thing i found after making this video - if you go to the Civ website and try to go to the link where civ 7 was announced, it gives a 404 error page with some new looking art in the background of Colosseum being constructed and some new terrain which has never been seen before, so it all points to CIV 7

@@boesthiusIt’s not just Civ, every gaming community does this. I think street fighter players are easily the funniest, complaining that the meta of a BRAND NEW GAME is scrubby. Like yeah, no duh, there’s no advanced tech in the new game BECAUSE ITS BRAND NEW AND THEY HAVEN’T HAD TIME TO DISCOVER THE ADVANCED TECH YET

Call me crazy, but I'd be happy if Civ7 was basically just Civ6 but with an AI difficulty system that doesn't rely on bonuses. Then again, having a 100% loss rate vs an IBM Watson level AI would get old quick.
I'm not gonna lie, I'm looking forward to new bells and whistles.

I’ll be honest, as someone who went through high school, got a undergrad degree in anthropology and is now in a masters program for indigenous rights in public policy, I have trouble returning to Civ and the 4X genre in general because of all the narrow stereotypes around history and how we view “it” (or them) through the mechanics. For example, I now understand why some Cree people were critical of the inclusion of Poundmaker as a leader, even if it was positive representation, because of how the mechanics reflect a specified view of history he would never have agreed with. I might still pick it up, but if they keep barbarians around, I think I will have finally grown out of the series unfortunately, although maybe I’ll still listen to the soundtrack if it has as much effort behind it as Civ 6’s
Why don’t you like barbs in the game? I think they’re fun, especially with the newer mechanic that lets them turn into city states.
@@kylehanlon7551 It has more to do with the concept than with how they play as a game mechanic. It’s just, frankly, a far outdated idea, especially when those same historical “barbarians” are now being increasingly represented as “civilizations.”

The lettering is giving me bad AI vibes... probably just seeing things out of paranoia, hope so.
If it was ai made, there would be multiple typos, AI still can not do words properly and spits out gibberish in ai generated art where there is text.

Civ 4 is literally the only game I couldn't force myself to play because of the graphics. *Ever*. I normally don't give a crap about graphics at all but it was so bad, I don't even care if you can mod it to look better.
