I know I contributed to Scythia's culture victory when I visited Kurgan #65, super underrated. TripAdvisor recommended Kurgan #32, but I like to visit the less touristy sites, y'know.
Fun fact: in Russia we have a city literally named Kurgan, which was called that way because it was settled near one of the largest kurgans, the Tzar Kurgan. My sister lives there. This fact, I feel, is not as fun though 😅

Scythia was my fastest win ever. Turn 66 on deity on standard pangea with everything set to normal and no mods. They used to snowball absolutely out of control back when the game was released and loyalty wasn't yet a thing. Now they're not even half as good as they used to be. I like that Firaxis tried giving Scythia more dimension than just kill everyone but the one thing that I don't understand is why Kurgans don't add positive appeal. If they gave appeal it would have buffed them more than an extra faith with stirrups, because then you would be able to use Earth Goddess and actually get an economy based only on faith and gold.
Yeah I wish kurgans gave appeal or bare minimum at least +1 housing. I know they tried to give them tourism in the April patch but you're rarely going to be using them for that reason anyways so why not just give them housing
@@boesthius housing would make them slightly superior to the monasteries that Armagh gives and have at least some use cases. It would be better than a single farm for sure.

Boethius if you don't know,the kurgans are graves in fact,where rich buried with some expensive things,they believe that if they bury themselves with some expensive things,so they will be afterlife rich,so if you build a lot of kurgans you should lose the population(source:I am kazakh,the scyfians descendants)
I don't understand why the AI can demand you move troops from their borders (this is especially annoying when your Alliance expires but you're in a mutual war) but the player can't do the same. Considering there is a literal Casus Belli for breaking a promise.

If you keeo posting videos as regularly as the last couple days it won't cure depression...but it do believe it will eventually give you something that will make each a day a bit easier to get through.
What I don't get is how you had 200 science and culture without a campus or theater square. It feels like you cheated with all those speed forwards you did considering you had all these stats and no way to have been producing them
It's actually fairly simple to get a decent science yield without building campuses- I've done it quite a few times in my other videos where I don't building any districts. the main key component is getting Voidsingers as you get % science based off of your faith output, and you can stack those % modifiers with other things like scientific city states, etc. the modifiers stack pretty crazily, a good example is looking at the one city challenge videos where you can get thousands of science per turn by simply stacking modifiers with city states through policy cards! I hope this makes sense~
I once set myself (and completed) a Faithless Challenge - I had to complete a victory without ever earning a single point of faith. The ability to choose which natural wonders to enable helps, same with city states (No religious city states wanted). Even then, you have to either turn off Tribal Villages (or accept that a tribal hut can ruin a run), and be very careful not to build cities close to a resource that grants faith, such as cotton - AND you cannot complete a trade route that gives faith, use policy cards like Triangular Trade, or build any faith-generating Wonder... You also cannot do anything to defend against an AI civ with a religion, if they spread it, to stop them from gaining a religious victory. I eventually won, using a Duel map, with two versions of Mvemba as opponents, to ensure that no religion would start up...
I've got a challenge for you Boes. Win a Science or Culture victory with Amanitore Nubia but all your districts must have 0 adjacency. Basically using Nubian pyramids to "create adjacency". I've tried this challenge 2 times and lost 2 times it's pretty hard. Game modes on.

Do you have a setting that makes ads play and play and play? I just notice that having your videos running i the background sooner or later I'm just listending to endless ads. I don't recall this happening with potato mcwhiskey. Maybe i'm wrong. I'll check.
Not necessarily no I literally leave it as default. I know they changed some ad stuff recently so maybe that's why but can you tell me how many/when they're happening? I might need to adjust em

By taking care of em early and scouting - barbs won't spawn in areas where you have units/active vision
