Not a bad track at all. Maybe this version played during the first half of the stage during the day while the other played during the 2nd half at night kinda like they did with X4 Frost Walrus.
Winter crimebustin' theme! Those trumpets help exemplify the drama and gives a Batman Returns sort of feel. If you're asking about the published theme, it's adventurey and definitely great but how this one sounds more tough and dramatic wins overall tome for such a behemoth like Frost Man.
@@DeskoDev it was on both systems. And there's a high chance this might have actually been cut because the PS1 didn't have the RAM for the samples required for it like the Saturn did. Most of the PS1 renditions of the music sound simpler and more subdued than they did on the Saturn.
@@Darknight0681For sound, the Saturn has more volume than the PS1 (512kb) but the PS1 has compression and the Saturn doesn't and the Sega Saturn samples take up more space in the sound memory than the PS1. I think the songs are better on the Sega Saturn because the Saturn version came out a month after the PS1 version.
@mmr2241 yeah you're right, the Saturn effectively has half the sample memory of the PSX with worse quality (8-bit linear is usually a lot noisier than 4-bit ADPCM) so I think better music is just because it was released later
I think that would have been a good idea to play this theme for the first part of Frost Man Stage, and then the final theme for the second part of Frost Man Stage.
I did read that every theme got remastered for the 10 years anniversary of Mega Man. If you listen carefully, you can hear the difference. I still prefer this theme for first part of the stage, and remastered version for second part of the stage, because it's kind of hard to tell the similarities.
It sounds you're a Sonic player. Considering using each theme for different parts of the stage, that would have been similar to the later Sonic games that had Act 1 and 2.
@ I don’t really play Sonic games, the style of platforming was never my thing. I prefer the slower, more methodical styles of platformer like Mega Man or Donkey Kong.
@@cloud9979 When you posted Stage Act, I thought you got that from Sonic. My father does not like the Sonic games since they're too fast for him, but I could keep up with the speed. The Clinger Wringer level in Battle Toads NES was too fast for me. I also played Donkey Kong, and even Donkey Kong Country and Land.
While I like the final version of Frost Man's stage BGM more, I don't think that this was a bad track. With a little tweaking, I think it could have been reworked into a stage BGM for Clown Man or Aqua Man.
It sounds a lot like Megaman X3 for PS1, the same instrumentation (some people complained about it). I personally like more this style, than the final one, it fits the stage and it's a clean sound.
The one they ended up going with is way better and it fits the stage and atmosphere much more. But this isn’t bad at all, it would have been out of place tho.

Oh shit, this is awesome! Should have been the theme that plays at the second part of the stage, would fit so well!
Good idea
If Capcom ever makes another 32-bit Mega Man game they should use the unused MM8 songs.
This is honestly beautiful

I like the frost man theme they used more but this song is still pretty damn good
Imagine this song, while the JUMP JUMP SLIDE SLIDE parte...
I like so much this unused track.
So, sound like a The Powerpuff Girls classic Theme Intro.
Because of the bassline and breakbeat

best beta deleted music
this makes me feel happy! ^_^
Some parts of this sounds like Chill Man’s theme from Mega Man 10 years later.
Yummy Sega Saturn trumpets
This was on the PSX doh
XD

I hate to see a turtle shell so angry. 🐢

Should have been used for the Saturn version like with Tengu Man
So beautiful...
Keeps making me think of Yu Yu Hakusho for some reason.
It has that mood..
the trumpets is the answer
Thanks for sharing this ^_^
Pretty great, shouldn't have gone unused
I’m glad they changed it, this isn’t bad at all but it doesn’t fit the atmosphere and stage nearly as much as the theme they ended up going with.
So fire. Almost as good as the official
Charlie's Angels / Powerpuff Girls
i believe this was used in the demo version of this game. i wish they would have kept it!
