Oh you absolutely NEED a warranty lol. Microsoft has one $20 for 3 yrs but they send you a refurbished one back. Best Buy has one for 2 years $55 but you'll get a brand new in box controller when you return it. I went with best buy after Microsoft kept sending me back crappy black ones still broken. Here's a tip with the back paddles: Make sure the top ones have the fat part of the ends pointing up, not down like in the video. Pointing them up allows better grip on your middle finger and makes it less likely to press both buttons at the same time.
    You're welcome!

coming from an elite V1 (the very first one) and I can confirm that the D-pad along with the backpaddles from the old controller work perfectly with the new CORE edition (and the V2), however the sticks from the old elite DO NOT fit the new one. Something to keep in mind! For me it was a good deal since i rarely use the sticks anyway

The most important question for me is: Do the sticks wobble?
I own an elite S2 that's about 2 years old and the sticks wobble so much.
I don't mean stick drift. Just that there is too much room for the sticks basically. I can wobble them around a good amount without feeling resistance or ir registering any of that wobble.

Since this morning than likely is built just exactly as the elite one, or two were built. I'm going to assume that it's just as much a piece of junk as the elite one, and two. I have an elite two. The regular Xbox controllers last longer than that piece of junk. My elite series two had a paddle button that never worked. From day one. It got stick drift after about 6 months of use on the left analog stick. The same amount of time was needed before the RB button decided to not work. And now the only way the RB button works is if you drip rubbing alcohol over the button and spam it for about 5 minutes. Then all the sudden the stupid button will work for about 5 hours. Then it stops again. 100% total piece of junk. Do not waste your money on a Microsoft elite controller of ANY stature. They don't even use high quality buttons for a $200 controller. They use the same junk buttons that they use on junk controllers. How can you call it a pro when it's got all the same stuff in it as a regular piece of junk controller? The marketing department at Microsoft only knows how to bamboozle their customers. NOT HOW TO MAKE A QUALITY CONTROLLER. AND IT SHOWS IN THEIR JUNK QUALITY IN EVERY ELITE CONTROLLER THAT HAS EVER CAME OUT.

I've had 3 elite controllers and 2 series 2 all have had problems. When it works its my absolute favourite controller I have ever used but the QA issues are pathetic for a controller for this price.
I'm trying to find a decent controller with paddles but they all seem to have issues of their own. It's so stupid that the only way to have a reliable experience is to pay for 3rd party insurance monthly for WHEN you have an issue.
I think they are all bad but some of us play more than others, if you only play an hour a day you won't have any problems for years. If you play multiple hours a day like if you are a streamer or just a hard-core gamer then it's inevitable that within 6 to 8 months it's going to have drift, the grips will peel, the metal paddles will wear the plastic buttons down and stop making contact, the shoulder buttons will stop working or the face buttons stop working.
I've had all the above issues across my 5 controllers, it's a real shame because it's honestly the best controller I have ever used but it's failure rate is pathetic.
My ideal series 3 would be all plastic with textured grip like the base series x|s controllers, they will have hall effect sticks to prevent drift and increase durability they would have 2 paddles more like the Astro C40 controller and the same wireless charging case, trigger stops, changable stick heads and profiles as the series 2.
Its a premium product with a premium price it's about time they use premium parts.

Sure it's great...for the first 6 months until you inevitably get stick drift, RB failure or any of the numerous reliability issues. Much better to invest in other companies like Razer, Thrustmaster or even PowerA. Even better wait for a pro controller with Hall Effect sensors cause everything else is garbage as of now.

I hate to make this comment as well, but it needs to be made.
So they pretty much made the elite 2 (Which is junk) and made it more expensive? Knowing the trash that that controller actually is? This shows you Microsoft's true intention. The intention is to take something that is subpar, and already overpriced, and make it into something that is still subpar, and even more overpriced? So if you want a piece of junk. you may as well just buy the elite series two. Because at least that controller is cheaper than the core controller. Which is the same piece of junk that you're just going to pay more for. The funny thing about this is people will be stupid enough to buy this controller over the elite series two. When really they shouldn't even be wasting their time with Microsoft junk controllers. They should go find a real pro controller. You know one with tactile buttons? In which if you look on the market I have a wolverine V2 chroma. The only thing that the Microsoft controllers have over the wolverine V2 chroma is the fact that Microsoft controllers are cordless. If razor could make a cordless wolverine? Microsoft and that piece of junk controller would be completely out of a job. Because they're elite to elite core and the elite controllers are all trash. And that's compared to a corded controller. So please stop sucking Microsoft's dick. THEIR CONTROLLER SUCKS. IT'S RB WILL STOP WORKING LIKE ALL THE OTHER ELITE CONTROLLERS ALWAYS DID. NOT JUST SOME OF THEM. EVERY FLIPPING ONE OF THEM DID. IT'LL GET LEFT ANALOG STICK DRIFT. NOT JUST BECAUSE SOME OF THEM DID. BUT BECAUSE EVERY ONE OF THEM DID, AND DO. THAT JUNKIE RUBBER STUFF ON THE SIDE IS GOING TO PEEL OFF JUST BY THE OILS FROM YOUR HAND. BECAUSE MICROSOFT IS TOO CHEAP TO FIX THAT THING TO THE CONTROLLER IN A WAY WHERE THE OILS WILL NOT AFFECT IT.

Its unprecise flipping back to center and the sometimes not working A-Button is sadly my exoerience with my limited xbox one "grey/green"-edition back then when I bought it 😞 I´ve lost the motivation playing with a controller right away... today I was so proud as my White Core arrived. Right now everything is working fine - but once I thought "hmm...did the a-button react?" - lets hope it has and will not happen to me again. But ok - this time I can send it back in 30 days when it appears to fail. What I really love is that you can shorten the trigger-way for LT/RT and instead of using the much to high LB/RB (worst ergonomics on many controller) now I can use the paddles on the back instead - love it 🥰👍 What I dont like is that it seems you can not take out or change the battery - at least not easily.

When Microsoft actually makes a controller worth its weight and salt. I will give them the respect they deserve for that. But this piece of junk is nothing but an elite controller. And just so everybody knows the elite series 2 is nothing but the elite. They gave it a bit of a different look, but the internals are still garbage. And if the internals are garbage. You better believe the entire controller is garbage. The controller can only be as good as it's internals!!!! That is a FACT. AND MICROSOFT'S INTERNALS ARE JUNK!!!!

The elite 2 is the best controller.. but a very big but… the build quality is so extremely bad! They break so fast! So ask yourself.. are you willing to send the controller 7 8 times a year for repairs. Its really bad that reviewers dont mention this anymore! The internet is full of these complaints for years! Xbox acts like they have no clue! And just keep producing these controllers. Its a disgusting practice! Reviewer’s should always tell this when making videos about the elite 2.. you are not a sales person of xbox… you are here to inform the audience about products!
