Megacorps got everyone fooled with their “regulations are unnecessary and evil!” propaganda. Far from the only lie they’ve successfully pulled off for decades.
As I say to friends interested in this controller: “This is the best pro controller ever!….when it works…” It’s so good, comfortable, and great battery life! Unfortunately the right bumper failed on me during warranty so I had to change it….and got a refurbished one. Here’s the cynical me thinking the refurbished one will fail within a year so in my pov this is not a got deal given how expensive it is and how other controllers usually last.
@@OnlyDanGames I got lucky. Called MS customer support, exposed my case in a candid manner, they looked at my file (MS customer for years, history of elite series 2 issues) and they accepted to replace my controller one more time, despite been out of warranty. Let's be honest, by now they probably know how shitty the quality is, and probably have tons of used controllers been refurbished. If they don't wanna have a PR mess, the least they can do is sending you a refurbished one at no cost. Cause it seems they are not spending money fixing the quality "core" issues.
When it comes to removing the faceplate I had no problems with scratching or damaging my elite series 2 in the several times I’ve opened it. Nor have I had the need to use a heat gun, I just pried it up from the the top, no problems. Maybe you’ll want to try that in the future, good video, have a pleasant day.
I would think that there has to be SOMETHING that's different from the OG 2 or else MS couldn't say that it has "refined components that are built to last." Maybe they look the same but are made of a (slightly) different material??? Also, maybe the "cheap" white plastic is the same that the Series S is made out of?
Sent my Series 2 Elite in to MS, twice within the warranty for a non responsive/mushy A button. Both times it was sent back with nothing done. They claimed it was fine. Both times I submitted a ticket I included a video showing me pressing the A button 20 times, less than 10 of them registering. I took it apart and fixed it myself but it didn't last long. I tried just using a paddle button to replace A but years of muscle memory didn't go away. Needless to say I won't be buying any premium MS controllers ever again. My XB1X launch controller is going strong, 4 years on though.
On my third Core controller (6th series 2 altogether) and it still has the A and Y button unresponsiveness. I don't believe they updated, fixed or changed anything.
@@LandingBully I find the paddles to be annoying. I shouldn't have to reconfigure my playstyle of 20ish years just to have a top of the line $200 controller to work properly.
another way to remove the faceplate is to go through the top of the RB LB edges. Put a plastic trim removal tool in there and pry up closer to the sides of the controller. once you pop a couple of tabs out it gets easier to pull the rest of them out.
Honestly the first time I took apart my elite controller I didn’t even worry about the adhesive, I just pulled it off and the adhesive came off with it
I bought the elite series 2 about 6 months after it's release. Then recently purchased 2 of the white core controllers a few months ago. I don't quite understand what the problem is with the controller. I've had zero problems with any of mine and I got 2 kids that are constantly dropping them on our hardwood floor. If I had one complaint, it would be the weight and the quality of the grips. After my son dropped one of the controllers the grip was damaged
@@GamerHeavenOfficial I did thank you for braving the breakdown, I know I'm not gonna be ripping apart a working controller any time soon lol I'm constantly looking for another one, I've tried the fusion pro 2 and the paddles keep falling out, I loved the turtle beach recon, the buttons were so much better than the flappy paddles that wouldn't stay in the controller but there were only 2 buttons and it developed stick drift within 2 months and LB died not long after, after using 4 back paddles I can't go back to 2, do you have any suggestions? Maybe the paddles on other controllers are more consistent though, I saw a controller with magnetic sticks but could only be used on PC, I know I should probably watch a couple hours of reviews but if you have a controller in mind please let me know Kev, stay safe stallion.
The thumbsticks feel cheaper. My elite 2 i got last year has barely any drift after 100s of hours of apex (i play on linear too) and feels more loose compared to the core. My core has insane drift and the sticks feel stiff (i have used the tension loosening thing) when i go to control recoil Im pulling the stick in the correct pattern to control recoil but in game its like im not moving the stick at all & the drift was bad too (this is my experience with the core). I started using my old elite and all the issues i just stated were gone. Core also feels heavier than the full price elite 2. Idk if ive gotten a faulty elite core?
I went through all your videos in your controller playlist, was hoping to find a video ranking your top pro/premium controllers. I had the scuf vantage 2 for about 5 months during covid and got serious stick drift on my left stick along with breaking multiple paddles (cheap plastic imo). I’ve been playing with the core Xbox series X controllers since. (I’m on pc btw) I value your opinion and in depth guide and was just curious what you think is the all around best pro/premium controller based on price point, durability, and features. I miss having paddles for shooters and platform fighters and am looking into buying another one.
They changed the warranty for the elite series 2 a while back. I bought one back in March 2020 and almost a year later in Feb 21, my bumper was only working every 1 out of 5 clicks. I went to the Xbox website, and they have these notifications sometimes when you go and check. One of them said due to frequent whatever the warranty was extended to a year. thankfully I was able to get a replacement almost right at the cutoff point. This was great then, but now the rubbers are coming off. This one a problem I had with the series 1 I never expected to have with the series 2. it's like the rubber deformed over time. I wish they would either make the grips a rubber sleeve with nubs that socket in, or just have texture on the plastic and spray the sections over with the rubber coating they have on the face plate. Also, they need to put a little adhesive on the rubber tips that go over the trigger stop switches. Those things fall of and disappear. If you do get a new elite2 remove them and put a tiny touch of glue. One other tip, if you're playing a game that is heavy on bumper usage, map them to the paddles. The arm that depresses the actuator for the bumpers is a built-in point of failure on all one/series controllers, its long and brittle. They used to be worse on the first version of the xb1 controller where the bumpers were a single mould across the front of the controller, that could snap at the flex point.
My elite 1 was amazing with no issues , had 3 series 2 knew button sticking , next stick drift and buttons sticking on 3rd was fine but now has stick drift but past warranty
I’ve take several elites apart without damaging the rubberized grip. Nor did I have to use a heat gun. Use several picks like the ones that come on ifixit kits and just pry from a corner and keep prying and leaving picks in. easy peasy
Got my elite 2 on day of release, felt solid. However, after 2 weeks my left thumb stick no longer clicks in, you only have to apply very light pressure for the left stick press to register so it’s really difficult to play, sprinting happens when you don’t want it to. Also the LT trigger got harder to press over time.
12:08 This was a surprize honestly. The soft feel material on the black elite is my favorite part about it. I ordered a customized blue Elite Series 2 from xbox design lab the same day the service opened and i can't wait to see what that material feels like.
@@epicon6 Commenting so I get the update as well :P. I was about to order one with the design lab as well, but now I'm hesitant due to how many times I've had issues with the bumpers. Very disappointed it seems they did nothing to improve it.
@@akaoz2617 Oh wow! This looks so much nicer than on the preview photos! I got a Dreamcast inspired one (European Pal region cd case inspired) with a blue top and bottom, everything else on black except fully colored ABXY and red thumbsticks and of course a Dreamcast written on the controller. The blue was one of my least favorite colors in the preview but i had dreamed of getting a Dreamcast inspired controller just 2 weeks before Xbox added these to the custom program and even asked Sega and Xbox to make one. The blue color is much deeper and darker and it fits with the black grips really well. The fully colored ABXY are also so amazing it's hard to describe. The colors are super vibrant. I also love the bumpers and cross shaped d-pad in black and they look even nicer than the gunmetal parts in the standard black elite. The top and bottom plates aren't the soft material like on the black one but that's because the black top and bottom are the same material as the grips and that couldn't be painted. I think the painted one feels incredibly good to the touch and it doesn't constantly look dirty like the black one. I'm constantly wiping the black one clean even though i always wash my hands before using it and don't snack when i use it. All buttons and sticks work perfectly. I have 4 Elite Series 2 controllers and i have had a really good experience with quality control. My first one had an RB button that didn't register some of the time but it fixed itself after a few months and has been working perfectly since. I really recommend mapping the left and right stick clicks to the smaller paddles on the bottom of the controller because i believe that will save you from any stick drift issues because you never have to press the analog sticks down. I got stick drift on my very first Elite v1 controller and got that replaced under warranty and mapped the clicks to the paddles and the replacement is still working great. I can't wait to order more of these. I posted 3 pics on my Twitter @EPICON8 The photos are a bit dark because i wanted to show how dark the blue is and still only the last photo where it's next to the black elite s2 shows how it looks to the eye.
Before I watch this I'm going to predict that no, the joystick modules are exactly the same. Dude they lied. Only thing that is different is that now, it's even harder to take apart.
Um.... I've repaired xbox controllers multiple times and never got any marks on the grips. Pull the triggers in so you can get a grip on the top of the rear grip and just tear it off. No pry marks, and I've never had one break on me.
stripped down 100s and never damaged rubber grips. insert plastic prying tool between shell and RB or LB has close to the rubber grip has pos without touching the rubber and twist the tool may take a few twist or a cpl of swaps to the oposite side and eventually you will feel the side you are working in will lift up, work a second tool in to the gap and work your way around the controller carefully popping each clip has you go job done. ps nice vid and love caydes ace of spades
You don't need a blow dryer or worry about adhesive. 🤦♂️ Simply get a flathead screwdriver then hold down one of the bumpers while you pry the faceplate off from the gap above the bumper. Its easy and you won't break or damage anything. Just make sure you hold the bumper down firmly or you'll snap the bumper off.
the plastic covering for the bumper tac switches are to give leeway for the wear on the platic button when it makes contact... when your buttons finally get wore to all hell you will want that plactic in there. also it helps absorb pressure on the switch.
You can use a guitar pick and extreme care to avoid most cosmetic damage during the front plate removal. You really just need to avoid metal tools for that part since they're harder than the plastic shell.
Only problem I've ever had with either elite 1.0 or 2.0 controller is the stupid rubber grip ends up falling off. Wish I could get one without that crappy grip
Edit: I just got my elite series 2 controller back and they sent me one that looks brand new. Even though I had already opened it since I thought the warranty ended (should have I bought it over 2 years ago). I'll probably hold off on making a design lab one for now and see if they add any colors/hear back from others on quality.
Hey, love the vids!!! I am doing a resto/mod/upgrade on an old Razer Sabertooth controller. I am thinking about putting the same joysticks as the series 2 controller in it BUT I need to know how wide the magnetic base is to make sure I have clearance. Can you tell me if the series 2 base is the same size or larger than the the standard 360 controller? Is the series 1 the same or smaller than the series 2? Thanks keep the vids coming.
I'm replacing elite 2. Iv went for the Hypr controller. Ps5 controller. Waiting to get it. Slightly cheaper than the other pro controllers. But If no good I will fork out for the battle beaver, hearing most of the pros use this on warzone etc. My concern is stick drift, unsure if battle beaver are doing anything with their controllers to reduce the chances of this 🤔
@@GamerHeavenOfficial budget 300 and under. Only really must have feature is 4 rear buttons and something that last long. Prefer Xbox form factor vs ps form factor. Doesn't matter if it's wireless or not.
i have the elite 2 and i have to fix the bumper problems more than once a month, the problems always come back in like a week and i have never been able to fully fix it. i have to buy a new controller now since its now fully broken but i just dont think theres another good alternative, and if i buy this exact one again i will probably have the exact same problem within a year.
The one thing that really sucks.....Xbox controller faceplates are essentially proprietary, even within the Xbox family. You can't put a Series 2 faceplate on a standard Xbox One controller, despite the Series 2 controller being a 2nd gen Xbox one controller. Even 3rd party, like ExtremeRate doesn't work. I would absolutely LOVE to have the Series anti-friction rings on a regular controller.
Kind of a godsend that I found this video. I bought a modded Elite Series 2 controller a year ago that has some cool custom mods like rapid fire dropshot and auto ADS,. but I really like the look (and superior build quality) of the Core, so I basically transferred the guts of the first controller to the Core. This video helped out a ton!
I bought an elite series 2 like 2-3 weeks before the core came out and when I check it on Microsoft it has a 1 year warranty not a 3 month warranty you said. Maybe they change them for both a few months ago to both be a year.
@@GamerHeavenOfficial I seen a video on how to make them into a gaming headset but they didn’t go into detailed review like you would. I wanted a set for airplane rides and i stead of buying another gaming headset I bought all the accessories needed to make it into a gaming headset.
Thanks for the video, was interested to see if there was any differences between the two, apparently not, so much for Xbox saying they had lol, still not had any issues with my original series 2, at some point i'll probably replace it with this one(or wait for the V3), but customize the colours etc in the Xb Lab.
Hmm, I am unsure about your assesment about parts. They might look the same, but maybe they changed the dimensional torelances for some parts, which in return could help the worst case scenarios. It would had been really interesting if you measure the parts with a calliper and maybe make a deeper assesment on blends and chamfers made on the corners. Either way, very interesting video!
To my knowledge, no, but there is a “stick drift fix “PCB that you can solder on, that makes it to where you don’t get stick drift with your existing some sticks, if that makes any sense. Vcuda has a good video on it.
@@GamerHeavenOfficial Yes. The ExtremeRate Drifix kit. I actually have a question about that if you have time. Does that mean I can put my deadzones on 0,0 without drift? And does that affect the accuracy of the sticks? Like, regarding thumbstick input registration errors?
Honestly I like the way the elite core controller looks more then the other one. I bought it one day then returned it the next, it was a super nice controller…. But it wasn’t 140 dollars nice.

Unfortunate, honestly would've at least liked for the elite core controller to come with a higher stock polling rate or ability to be overclocked.
Great breakdown and comparison sir. Its pretty amazing seeing all the pieces that go into making a controller.
As I say to friends interested in this controller: “This is the best pro controller ever!….when it works…”
It’s so good, comfortable, and great battery life! Unfortunately the right bumper failed on me during warranty so I had to change it….and got a refurbished one. Here’s the cynical me thinking the refurbished one will fail within a year so in my pov this is not a got deal given how expensive it is and how other controllers usually last.
This is exactly what happed to me this week. My refurbished one failed just outside of the warranty window....
Can MS be sued for false advertising? Saying they improved components but they're exactly the same?
Why do y’all buy Paddle controllers than don’t bind A B X Y to your paddles ? The whole point is so u don’t have to touch the actual buttons lmao
@@LandingBully I find the paddles to be annoying. I shouldn't have to reconfigure my playstyle of 20ish years just to have a top of the line $200 controller to work properly.
I love your videos they are very blunt and clear and addictive keep it going
Thank you
another way to remove the faceplate is to go through the top of the RB LB edges. Put a plastic trim removal tool in there and pry up closer to the sides of the controller. once you pop a couple of tabs out it gets easier to pull the rest of them out.
Honestly the first time I took apart my elite controller I didn’t even worry about the adhesive, I just pulled it off and the adhesive came off with it
your wall the background telling me first sight that you got legit expertise !! 😃👍
I Definitely appreciate the work you put into your video's. Great Content and thanks for helping me decide what controller im getting this holiday 👍👍
Customers need to do a better job of making noise about manufacturers continuing to use potentiometers instead of hall effect sensors
Have been waiting for this for days bro hyped it's here!
Hope you enjoyed it!
@@GamerHeavenOfficial there is no costume action for right sticks and triggers! ? That sucks
Great video bro. Perfect presentation 👍
They actually updated the warranty on the Series 2 as well to 1 year, it’s the same controller.
Last time when I bought Elite 2 on sale (Poland) I received two years of warranty. Maybe only in Europe.
Warranty in European Union countries is pretty nice, no extra cost, 2 year warranty on all electronic goods.👍
Been waiting for this
So... the ONLY difference is that the core outer plastic shell is cheaper plastic?
Correct
Elite 2 is best at The moment. $150 direct from Microsoft
That smoking ace of spades tho 🙌♠️ rip cayde-6♠️
Fine. This is what I was looking for, brother.
Awesome tear down video and commentary
Still have my launch 1st model elite controller and it works fine but the right thumbstick rattles but it still works, weird.
Also the LT trigger got harder to press over time.
well that sucks :(
Very uncommon problems in my experience.
Can you do a video on the calculations? Radial. Axis independent and true diagonals. hat the diff is and which is better for what type of games
12:08 This was a surprize honestly. The soft feel material on the black elite is my favorite part about it. I ordered a customized blue Elite Series 2 from xbox design lab the same day the service opened and i can't wait to see what that material feels like.
Could you give an update once you have it? I want to know how it feels.
@@joedpa Sure. I ordered it on the 18th and estimate was 3-4 weeks, so 1-2 weeks to go,
@@epicon6 Commenting so I get the update as well :P. I was about to order one with the design lab as well, but now I'm hesitant due to how many times I've had issues with the bumpers. Very disappointed it seems they did nothing to improve it.
@@akaoz2617 Estimated delivery date is 9th of November so i'll have it soon
I posted 3 pics on my Twitter @EPICON8
The photos are a bit dark because i wanted to show how dark the blue is and still only the last photo where it's next to the black elite s2 shows how it looks to the eye.
This is why I’m looking forward to the PS pro
13:05 talking to your camera like it's a bimbo screwing up your video is actually hilarious lmao
Thanks for this, your efforts are appreciated 👍
Before I watch this I'm going to predict that no, the joystick modules are exactly the same.
Dude they lied. Only thing that is different is that now, it's even harder to take apart.
Um.... I've repaired xbox controllers multiple times and never got any marks on the grips. Pull the triggers in so you can get a grip on the top of the rear grip and just tear it off. No pry marks, and I've never had one break on me.
Wait a minute didn't Microsoft claim the core was longer lasting and internal adjustments were made tho?
yeah wtf, cant they be sued for lying?
So how can Microsoft get away saying re-engineered parts and components if that’s a complete lie ? Can someone not sue them for this ?
They could claim they revised the parts sometime during the Elite series 2’s 3 year life span because there is no way to really disprove that.
stripped down 100s and never damaged rubber grips. insert plastic prying tool between shell and RB or LB has close to the rubber grip has pos without touching the rubber and twist the tool may take a few twist or a cpl of swaps to the oposite side and eventually you will feel the side you are working in will lift up, work a second tool in to the gap and work your way around the controller carefully popping each clip has you go job done. ps nice vid and love caydes ace of spades
There's no adhesive in the face plate...
Brilliant tear down cheers
You don't need a blow dryer or worry about adhesive. 🤦♂️
Simply get a flathead screwdriver then hold down one of the bumpers while you pry the faceplate off from the gap above the bumper.
Its easy and you won't break or damage anything.
Just make sure you hold the bumper down firmly or you'll snap the bumper off.
I’m kind of behind on seeing this one, but you didn’t check if the bumper spacers were swapped and I couldn’t even see them on the core.
the plastic covering for the bumper tac switches are to give leeway for the wear on the platic button when it makes contact... when your buttons finally get wore to all hell you will want that plactic in there. also it helps absorb pressure on the switch.
Been waiting for this video since the damn thing was announced.
Didn’t the black 2019 elite controller get a update from a 3 month to a 1 year warrenty ?
Yes it did , I actually just learned that myself recently
Brooo where did you get that ACE OF SPADES on your desk? Is that for when mormi moto is on with the smoke??? I need that
I bought my elite 2 10 months ago and absolutely zero issues. With extreme use
That’s reassuring, my Mrs got me one for Christmas been loving it
Thank you! Been waiting for this. Just saved me $
Is that a freeze gun on you're desk? Can't stop watching it looks so cool lol
Spilled Mountain Dew on my ABXY. Miserable to get to. Thank you for the in-depth video.
For some reason, the wrong microphone preset sounded better to me. I would fall into the older end of your viewers though.
You can use a guitar pick and extreme care to avoid most cosmetic damage during the front plate removal. You really just need to avoid metal tools for that part since they're harder than the plastic shell.
yes, guitar picks, plastic spudgers are key. I've repaired a bunch of these, and you couldnt even tell I was in it.
Are the bumpers the same quality as the Elite 1 or Elite 2?
Elite 1 bumpers broke all the time on me and the elite 2 only broke once or twice.
The warranty was just 3 months? Man that's criminal
So "core" does only mean; white plastic ??
Yes sir
Cheap white plastic
Awesome video!
what about the bumpers? are they using the same switches? I have a unusable E2, with both bumpers inactive, no matter how hard tou press.
can you do a video on controller modz au? for a ps5 controller review
Yes I can
I bought Elite Series 2 this month and it came with 2 years of warranty. ;)
In your opinion, what's the best PC controller I can get with at least 4 extra buttons? I'm trying to replace my elite 2.
I'm replacing elite 2. Iv went for the Hypr controller. Ps5 controller. Waiting to get it. Slightly cheaper than the other pro controllers. But If no good I will fork out for the battle beaver, hearing most of the pros use this on warzone etc. My concern is stick drift, unsure if battle beaver are doing anything with their controllers to reduce the chances of this 🤔
@@3GsRuthless I have a scuf reflex pro as well but I have yet to try it on PC. Maybe I should plug that bad boy in and give it a try.
Thats a broad question. whats your budget? must have features? do you prefer wireless? 2 or 4 rear button?
I would say one of the Thrustmasters. Latest addition is the Eswap S... Or a Battle Beaver.
@@GamerHeavenOfficial budget 300 and under. Only really must have feature is 4 rear buttons and something that last long. Prefer Xbox form factor vs ps form factor. Doesn't matter if it's wireless or not.
i have the elite 2 and i have to fix the bumper problems more than once a month, the problems always come back in like a week and i have never been able to fully fix it. i have to buy a new controller now since its now fully broken but i just dont think theres another good alternative, and if i buy this exact one again i will probably have the exact same problem within a year.
bought 2 elite 2's and they both stick drift within 2 months. Never again until they fix it. I got a fusion 2 and it's been 2 years with no issue.
So basically Microsoft lied that is very disappointing
Why lied?
The one thing that really sucks.....Xbox controller faceplates are essentially proprietary, even within the Xbox family.
You can't put a Series 2 faceplate on a standard Xbox One controller, despite the Series 2 controller being a 2nd gen Xbox one controller. Even 3rd party, like ExtremeRate doesn't work.
I would absolutely LOVE to have the Series anti-friction rings on a regular controller.
Your channel should have been called
" Controller Heaven " well for obvious reasons.
What is the purpose of a modded controller?
That’s a lot of work, thanks for showing us! Had they bothered to include some paddles I’d have grabbed this thing in a heartbeat.
I bought an elite series 2 like 2-3 weeks before the core came out and when I check it on Microsoft it has a 1 year warranty not a 3 month warranty you said. Maybe they change them for both a few months ago to both be a year.
Yes the warranty was changed after a lawsuit against Microsoft for purposely not fixing known problems.
me too. out of the box!! $200!!! i freakin lost it. i still cant belive its still an issue
Do a review on the airpod max as a gaming headset.
Funny you mention this, this exact video is in the works my friend !
So has this been fixed? Because I just spent $250 on a custom series 2 that arrives in three weeks. Will it be broken out the box?
Better than an iFixit video. Good stuff.
Can you change the thumbstick modules on the Elite Core 2 to the ones you have spoken about that cannot get stick drift?
The Gulikit King Kong 2. Been trying to figure this out as well. Good question.
i did some research and you can’t really buy those modules without stick drift right now. the only ones available are for the steam deck
To my knowledge, no, but there is a “stick drift fix “PCB that you can solder on, that makes it to where you don’t get stick drift with your existing some sticks, if that makes any sense. Vcuda has a good video on it.
@@kev2k Yeah. I would literally pay the $70 and solder (I want it that bad) them on a ps5 controller if possible.
I just ordered a custom elite 2 from design lab...ima be soo pissed if this think breaks on me from regular use.
Honestly I like the way the elite core controller looks more then the other one. I bought it one day then returned it the next, it was a super nice controller…. But it wasn’t 140 dollars nice.
Сколько лет гарантии на геймпад elite controller 2?
Great video. The Cheapass plastics on the core is why I returned it as soon as I opened it
Don’t blame you friend
Did you check if the bumper mechanism is identical?
he said the buttons were as were the plastics, so I would expect that they are.
Yes, bumpers are identical in mechanism.
@@GamerHeavenOfficial Thanks for clarifying. I’m having trouble understanding what the product page is referring to when it says “Re-engineered components” and “refined components that are built to last.” 🤷♂️🤦♂️
Edit: I just went through virtual chat and typed in my serial # on my controller. It says it's still under warranty o.o. Do you think I'll be able to get away with sending it in after I already opened it. The warranty expired over a year ago haha.
I thought I did bad opening mine, but I only have a little dot of plastic missing on left side and a little bit of the rubber on same side. I only want to know if the bumper has been improved. I got lucky and had 2 years of warrant(which I used several times), but it has long since ended and have had to open it several times since :/. On the positive side I got several extra thumsticks/pedals sent to me each time I sent my controller in.
where did you get that ace of spades
I haven't even watched the video yet but this is what I was wanting to know
Great review! I just have one question - Are they identical?
Yes sir
Bummed to see there’s nothing noticeably different within upgrading certain features to enhance the controller /: but thanks for voiding your warranty for our education and entertainment 😂😂
Looks like the main upgrade here is in the difficulty of disassembly and repair.
Now, it's even harder to take apart and repair. What a joke!
