I just did Unitronic Stage 3 dual pulley. Some people might not think it is justified to call it stage 3, but I can at least attest to that the "butt dyno" can't tell the difference between UNI stage 3 and APR's equivalent offering. Maybe my results are slightly off because I am using a pulley even smaller than the supplier UNI (just a slight bit more boost, peak boost is the same but the extra ratio allows the compressor to make more boost lower in the curve) but I really do think Unitronic is on to something. With their TCU stage 2 software, I was able to rev to 7300rpm, might not be alot for other engines, but with a hefty amount of boost from a high pulley ratio 7300rpm is vastly different from the 6800rpm stock limit. To most people's surprise, I do not run a heat exchanger, I just never drive the car to the point of heat soak, by monitoring IAT's through the OBD port. I really look forward to unitronic and other makers creating a (maybe lower priced?) or at least higher performance version of the fron Air-to-Water intercooler. The stock one is pathetic, designed tiny for the tiny amount of boost audi uses at stock - to maintain efficiency. The oversized, 140% larger APR offering seems to be great, but I am really hoping a company will improve on their makings. Not only is the FMIC mandatory for track days, but it really can help the car in normal driving situations, simply by providing a consistantly lower intake air temperature. Again, the lower the intake is the more stable the charge will be and the more timing you could feasibly throw at it, with water methanol for the ones that want to go ham. Anyway, that aside, great video and great car.
Coming from a bmw platform I have to say the Audi is much more intimidating to work on. This looks like big hassle but I bet it’s rewarding. I have a b8.5 s4 and can’t wait to start modding it. Great videos; subscribed!

Could you see any other issues arising from this upgrade other than fuel budget and burnt rubber? 😜. But for real, like any transmission issues from producing more power than it might be designed for?
Not really. That car has been tuned like this to not piss off RS4 owners. There is plenty of room for added power by raising supercharger boost with a smaller pulley. Get worried at stage 3 (with crank pulley). You will need a new cooling kit for your supercharger.
Great video guys, very informative, I use 99oct on my S5, as I have a convertible what sort of 0-60 times do you feel I would get? Perhaps increased by half a second 4ish?
I just flashed my 2012 Cabriolet to Stage 1+ from EPL and my 0-60 times stock were 5.1 with launch control and 5.6 just mashing the gas. After the Stage 1+ flash I"m getting 4.3 seconds with launch control and 4.5 seconds just mashing the gas. I'm going SC Pulley upgrade in a couple weeks when I get 034 mount inserts and rear sway installed so if I remember I'll update my times after. Stock testing was done at night in summer so temps were prob 60's to 70's and recent tests were current low to high 30's so that prob helped with times as well.
After mods mentioned above to Stage 2 single pulley I’m getting 4.1’s 0-60 with launch control & 4.3’s without. I’m thinking when it gets warmer & tires get better traction could be better also car is still learning the tune.
In my opinion it would be easier to remove the SC to make the pulley installation and removal easier. Not that much work, just need some new gaskets for the intake manifolds and top off the coolant.
Damn 134,000 miles. Im over here about to buy an s4 and wont even consider one with 30,000 miles lol. I want mine to be a baby because Im planning on keeping it for a long time. Willing to spend 35k if I have to, fuck it.
After seeing your videos and a few others, will definitely be going unitronic stage 2 - single pulley. Would it be safe to have AWE touring exhaust equipped as well or would that melt the catalytic? Appreciate your help!
