    You hit the nail on the head about buy RC Heli's or lose them, because most folks I know quit RC Heli's because of the costs associated with the learning curve crashes and associated down time, they simply said the can not afford the hobby based on that steep learning curve.

    • @BrianPhillipsRC

      10000000% - we need more interest to get people flying them! I am slightly worried, that people may make the "leap" too early to a "ReaL" RC heli, but then it's on them...but for now, so long as we can turn off the aids, I love these helis!!!

    • @ifly65
      @ifly65 4 дні тому

      That would make sense if these were cheaper and built to last. Another option is you can get a real rc heli for this price that has rescue and shelf safety features with a spirit fbl controller.

    I bought that exact same helicopter , it’s amazing , easy to fly and very scale. I did have 1 issue and that was calibration. I had to look up video on how to calibrate it using my computer , it was easy and only took about 5 min . Other than that , it is as advertised and you hit it in the nail when it comes abrupt stop , they should improve that . This heli will get more scale flyers up and flying with minimal annoyance and 100 percent fun . Great review

    Great video! You give us beginners the nerve to buy and fly one of these new GPS helicopters that have the panic switches to land them before they crash and lose a lot of money. We have to give the guys that flew the real ones in Veitnam the credit and bravery they had during that difficut time.

    Received mine from RC Going about a week ago. Flown it 4 times already. Love it!!!! Amazing scale heli!!!! Couple of little hints for a new buyer of this helicopter: Rig up a tail rotor ground protection guard out of some bent heavy gauge wire similar to clothes hanger wire because the stock setup allows the bottom reach of the blade to go a little beyond the protection of the tail fin.
    Also make sure the blades are tight enough that you can hold the heli sideways and given a light tap on one side so as to spin the main rotor around without moving either blade from they're straight out position.

    Had my first quick test flight today with this heli, ive been waiting for something like this for years after having more crash time than fly time on a 'old school' 3D heli 15 years back. Brian, great work on the channel and thank you.

    Hi Brian, I was blown away with your latest presentation with the Flywing - Bell 206 RTF Scale Helicopter that I ordered it in a heartbeat after I watched your video. I ordered it from your site at RCgoing and I hope mine will arrive with no issues. Also I added extra battery too. I also have the Flywing UH-1 Huey that comes with the same transmitter and is still in the box, kind of nervous to
    maiden it, LOL.

    I have this helicopter Brian and I love it and what I did is move the velcro to the other side of the battery and then that way I was able to hook the battery up without having to to turn it around for the leads to the rear,,,,,just something to think about. LOVE, LOVE your videos their so informative and thorough and another thing is I used the same velcro because it is so good and sticky and when I moved it to the otherside of the battery I checked it really good and it stuck to the otherside of the battery no problem and didn't come loose. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!

    I can confirm on full size real helicopters that there is a area of strong vibration when spooling up from idle to 100 percent flight RPM. On the Sweitzer 269 I trained on My instructor had it marked on the gauge and always said not to let the RPMs sit in that area and to just pass thru it. All of the Two bladed model helicopters I had in the past do the same. So its normal lol

      @BrianPhillipsRC  Місяць тому +1

      Thanks so much!!! This heli is expensive, but it'll open the door to NON-Heli Experts in a what that other heli's just can't do. I gave the controller to my Father-In-Law and he flew the thing...he doesn't even drive RC cars..he did it, you can do it ;) Sometimes there's a high premium for some of this tech...or you can wait a few years, 5-10 and I bet it'll be a bit cheaper, if they don't first discontinue it or make it cheap enough to suck badly, which is what we see happen typically.

    Hi Brian, do you recommend to set the voltage alarm to 3.3v for airplanes as well? Or what is your recommendation?

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  7 місяців тому +1

      I just do it for drop dead voltage on a heli, but to be frank, this heli will land at ~ 3.6-3.7 VDC anyway, so unless I were to "cancel" the Return to Home feature, she would be on the ground WELL before the alarm sounded. I also like to have this JUST in case there's a SAGGY CELL...sometimes this will cause issues on lower cell count flight packs, like 2S or 3S, but with 4S and 6S packs, one cell sagging usually doesn't cause a complete failure, but it can ;)
      My "rule of thumb" is that 3.3VDC for PROP planes, and 3.6VDC for EDF's

    Hey Brian..1:01:31 or so, you kind of hint that you might do a video on how to bind this heli to your NX-10. I really hope you do one soon! I'm seriously thinking of getting one of these and would LOVE to be able to do that.. Same with the little FW-200 as well. I tried, but it worked really wonky. I'm working on a theory that it needs more channels than the little satellite receiver has to offer. I thought I saw somewhere that the RTH won't work as that's technically another channel that the receiver just doesn't have, BUT, to use the RTH...get this...ya turn off the transmitter! lol How unnatural will THAT feel!! Once it sees loss of signal, it'll return home. Honestly, that's an option I could easily live without, so I'm not too worried about it.
    1:05:56.. What's a dog say?...What's a cat's toung?....What's 80 grit sandpaper?? ;)
    11:13.. Needs a float kit man! ;)

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  Місяць тому

      I don't mean to lead you on. I don't have any plans to bind this up with our NX10, but I know it can be done...however, there's a lot that can be screwed up if you don't get it 100% correct, so please use caution on your Percentages for the controls channel. They are WEIRD.

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  7 місяців тому +1

      It was like ~ 25 minutes! We flew it again this weekend, and same SUPER long flight times!!! Crazy for a 3000mAh 4S!

      @@BrianPhillipsRC👍 Got mine in December, love it. Flew it all winter in cold temps, 17 min on the stock battery landed at 3.7 consistently. Added lights, so much fun on a cold windy, overcast day. No issues whatsoever, nice review.

    Only issue i had on mine is losing a servo during flight. New body (steep price imo), new servo, and recalibration i was good to go. Flywing ships pretty quick and their customer service is pretty good too. Also, make sure gos signal is solid before taking off, otherwise be ready to fly it in 3d

      WOW - Glad you were able to get it flying again!!! Did they take care of you, or was it "you're fault" - seems like you might have had a mfg issue?

      @BrianPhillipsRC tbh I never even asked. I had about 120 minutes on the copter at the time of failure. The fuselage was on backorder, so I ordered a super timber 1.7 after your review to keep me distracted, lol.

      Very cool! Looks like there is, but the Bell 206 doesn't have 4 blades in real life, so I wouldn't be interested on this model. What are YOUR thoughts?

  • @hotscarywjm

    Love your videos Brian! Any suggestions on how do remedy the wonderfully useless venting of the cockpit? I have drilled a grid of 1/4" holes in the see-through lower windows on the lower fuse. These are the windows just below the nose of the helicopter. The ridge vents near the top of the canopy were only half of the solution. Cheers!

      You can turn it on, but have to hook it up to the PC and do it, BUT you can also just go to "3D" mode and fly it like any collective pitch heli. This heli is AWESOME!!!

    I wonder if you could paint over that design. Would it add to much weight, or should you strip off that paint. I know brake fluid disolves paint, but not sure if that is needed. Does any one have any suggestions?

    Hi Brian, very nice Helicopter
    I have two questions.
    Are the black rotor holders on the Bell 206 made entirely of aluminum or plastic? On the FW Airwolf they are made of aluminum.
    Which is better, the gear direct drive or a belt drive like the FW Airwolf?
    Thanks in advance
