Simply amazing....I used to ''try'' to fly Kavan Jet Rangers with glow plug engine and primitive radio in the 70's...Did not pursue very long..Incredible what they can do now...And what a realistic sound...
Same here, as a teen in the 90's that used to fly nitro planes and heli's. I'm amazed at how accessible RC aircraft are to people of all ages and experience, now. It's great.
Yea, the old days were so much better. You could only fly them if you had skill and were willing to spend the time to learn to fly them. Now anyone can do it and it doesn’t take much skill. Now careless people and can buy cheap stuff and show up to an event and wreck into everyone else’s expensive stuff. All that has happened is they let the people with no skill come in and ruin a hobby.
I've been into rc helicopters since the early 1980s and seriously since 2005. Wow, GPS, lipo batts, 2.4 digital. It's amazing how the tech is now. The price is on point because you'd spend that kind of money just repairing it back in the day. Also I think Dominic Santini would approve;)
Dude I have had this chopper for almost 4 months now and I love it! Hands down my favorite unit! You have to tint the windows on yours to get the real Air Wolf look! Love your videos! I do mostly hydraulic construction equipment , I videos as well on my channel, but I wish I was more camera literate 😢 I could never video my planes and choppers because I would need a camera man! 😂
I hear you loud and clear. I was being a little biased because I enjoy flying drones. Helicopters are great machines to fly but not for the purpose of what I can use with a drone. I enjoy the birdseye view
I think you replied in the wrong place, but I bumped into it. Drones are great for what they are good at. They are a lot of fun both FPV and line of sight. But, they handle nothing like a helicopter, so if you want to fly a helicopter, it’s not a suitable replacement. Drones will do things that helicopters won’t, they are just 2 separate things. For one, this one is an Airwolf replica, based on a short lived TV show from the late 80’s/early 90’s. No drone can replace Airwolf. It was a short lived show with low ratings that left a mark on a lot of people. It’s why the Bell 222 with retracts was one of the most popular helicopters in Internet searches for decades. So if you are like me and this is something from your childhood, even another heli isn’t a suitable replacement. This isn’t a starter heli, it’s beginner. You start with cheap to find out if it interests you, then you can step up to something like this that has beginner safety features as well as the capability of more advanced flying. It’s not all plastic, it’s aluminum and carbon, so there will be less play in the movements and it will respond better, as well as last longer. Remember, drones are simple, 4 motors and props (more in some cases) and basic electronics. The helicopter has a lot of linkages, swashplates and servos that the drone doesn’t have, and that makes it more complex and expensive. But, it’s still a completely different thing to fly. Planes, helis, drones, gyrocopters, I like to fly them all. It’s all different and a different skill to master. Plus, I like to tinker, so adjusting the blades and everything else on the heli is part of the fun to me.
@@adamr9215 This thing runs from 800-1000 dollars... stop trying to prop up this dude pushing this nonsense. It is going to be fine for very very specific people but in general this is terrible for most people and the reason this dude is pushing it is because he is getting this heli for free and/or getting paid.
@@thomgizziz Are your parents brother and sister? I didn’t comment on the pricing at all. I was explaining to someone else the difference between starter and beginner, and the difference between drones and helicopters. If you want to talk about price, the first rc helicopter I built in 92 cost about $1500 without an engine, blades, servos or radio. And you needed about $500 in tools to adjust the rotors. So $2000 in and 40-60 hours later you had to spend $200 on blades, $350 on an engine, $800 on a radio, $400 on servos, $250 on a receiver and then there were still upgrades. So, $650-1000 depending on how many batteries it has isn’t that bad comparatively. But, it’s overpriced for what it is in the current market. But, if you look at upgrading another cheaper helicopter to have all the aluminum parts that this one does, then you would be getting pretty close to the cost of this one. But, I actually learned how to fly a helicopter without all the training wheels that they have now, and I do not like that stuff. I see all these new safety features as what brought too many people into this hobby and ruined it. We didn’t have the FAA making up rules when it took skill to fly and less people did it. Personally, I wish rc airplanes started at $5000, and helicopters at $10,000, because that would stop 95% of the problems that the rc flying world is having now. I also wish that the RTF, PnP, BnF would go away and people had to spend 100+ hours building a plane before they could fly it. That too would clean up the mess that exists today. So, this helicopter needs to be about 20 times more expensive, as should all the others. And it should come in pieces, not preassembled.
Do you know what the difference between the "Left-Hand" & the "Right-Hand" controls when ordering the Airwolf product? I grew up in Tennessee flying nitro helis in the 1980's & 1990's along w/ airplanes. Throttle on the left, cyclic on the right-hand stick. Can you please explain the difference? I'm about to order an Airwolf w/ your discount code. Electric heli's have FINALLY come to maturity, & I'm all in!!! Thank you for an exceptional demonstration!!! 👍💞
Airwolf is so damn awesome! Also it's been 38 years since I played with any RC things..the last being the RC Typhoon Hovercraft...are we still limited to only 15 mins of play time...I mean it is the future!
Had a gas-powered helicopter in the mid-1990s. It took more skill than I have. Taking off, no problem, just hit the collective. Landing was always the issue. Do they make other types of helicopter (Hughes 500, Ranger, Apache) like this? Awesome.
Yes any added weights affects it. You do know the creator is getting paid to make this review right? He doesn't care if the thing is good he just cares that he gets his.
So yeah, you mentioned the controls can be adjusted to smooth that tight, abrupt takeoff. Also, do i see little nubs on the landing gear sponsons? Are those for possible weapons attachments? 😯
i have two of these ..it does look like airwolf but there are big diffeneces in the paint work..also just be careful of the H1failing it's very common..other than that its a great heli...but don't go inverted on a scale heli it won't turn out the way you think..
Aint no way i wouldnt murder it out and tint the windows, or paint them too. Def would add a cpl lights as well. But i love this thing. Not bad for the price point as well. Ive been out of RC for a while and really wanna get back in.
The takeoff of this heli, uncontrolled shooting up like crazy, was not really safe, I would say. You said you hate it and I agree. If you see this for the first time you can get a little heart attck! Otherweise nice helicopter to bring in new pilots!
Okay then buy the $1k heli and put a video up to show that it was worth it... you won't ever do it. This guy is getting paid and getting a free heli, why are you shilling for a stranger and company?
I know with the FW 450v3, you need to go and activate the 3d through your FC via USB. It will have two 3d modes. Full mode is true 3d (sicks are reversed) and the. Other mode is more beginner friendly (sticks have same control whether the helicopter is inverted or not). After you set your FC, the. You can use the 3D switch.
Awesome. I have the 500 sized Airwolf with the H1. I found if you feed in pitch taking off, really slow and gentle on the stick, mine doesn't launch off the ground at all... it's all really smooth. It settles like a foot off the ground.. Is that what you do with yours and it still jumps up really fast??
I would tighten those blades before you go inverted as if you add alot of sudden elevator it may boom strike? The blades should stay horizontal when held horizontal.
3:37 that take off man !!! 🤣🤣🤣 just imagine if it was a real one, your ballzzz probably gonna stay on the ground for 2 or 3 seconds before taking off 🤣🤣
😂 I'm a beginner 😂 I about to purchase one rite now . I'll put video in mine an drone it goggles an all . Beaf up the battery . Looking forward to getting my one
It is because you didn't spend around a grand out the door for the heli with his link. You can get similar copters for much less and probably that. This creator doesn't care either he will shill that link to you because he is getting this for free and/or getting paid. There are cheaper places to get this heli for almost half the cost but again you are just a means to an end for these creators.
when you popped the canopy, I was disappointed to see no retracts. Wonder if they do or will offer a kit? Sweet lookin' heli! DANG! Yeah! That take off is terrifying! LOL So much for scale! We'd all have compressed spines and sneezin' out our butts! Yah, that's pretty bad arse!
It needs an option to play the Airwolf theme.. Either from the remote or the Heli... But, from the Heli would be cooler. Imagine you're standing there and you start hearing the theme playing and then this helicopter comes flying at you! 😂

Was I the only one that when the rotors started spinning the "Air Wolf theme" started buzzing in my head? LoL! GORGEOUS RC man!
Opportunity missed
same here
The sound started in.my head even before he started the helicopter
I know what I want for christmas

It sounds amazing! Love Airwolf too
Do you love it to the tune of $1k

I agree with adding lights what about retracts. I have been waffling between Hey and airwolf.
As an Airwolf kid I now know what to ask for Christmas XD
I wonder if I put a propellor on my lawnmower if I could get it to fly as well
How bad would it be to modify this? Paint, weapons, seats in the cockpit etc? Would it affect the flight of this awesome machine?

I'll go and watch the video you've put together so well. It's the best.

Some people's beginners are definitely different than others but I wouldn't spend 700 on any beginner Rc. It's a nice heli though, really pretty.
Is the RTR with controller?? does it fly like in battlefield 2042? Is that the real sound or is that fabricated sound to sound like a real helicopter?
