Do I compliment you on your spunk and poetry, or holler at you for being fool-hardy? My husband said he felt as if he should have a seatbelt on his recliner as we watched you tackle Shaffer Trail on our widescreen. I was gasping. Your editing skills, camera angles, commentary, and use of the drone on the stairway and rim made this video so beautiful. Thank you for taking us with you. For heavens sake, be careful! How would I travel if something happened to you?
I have so much respect for your sense of adventure. But like @LGessner husband, I need a seatbelt and be careful. Ty💕
We are the ones in the Jeep you met coming down from the Shafer switchbacks. We found out afterwards the night before the area experienced a100 year flood and the reason the road was so rough. The Jeep rental said they were surprised it was open. It was a highlight to meet you and your video brought back fond memories. Great job once again.
Thank you! It was great to meet you too.
My wife is sitting next to me watching politics on her PC when she looks at my monitor and says "WHAT IS ROBERT DOING!" I didn't believe I would ever see such a harrowing trek on Traveling Robert's channel 🤣That was way more fun to watch than I would care to do in real life! Hats off to you Robert!!
Excellent...... I was very nervous ........It is the most dangerous road I have ever seen in my life.
What a beauty those rock formations...........Take care my son.......you are very fearless..........every sunset is different........ Congrats...... go ahead...... take care......Love....MOM...>>>
Oh and was actually terrified of that dirt road...wow...you are risking life and limb at this point to bring us this wonderful content! I pray you are protected on all your travels my friend!
"I'm not going back up those switchbacks, that's for sure." 🤣🤣🤣 I'm not even sure I can watch that again. Whew! 🤣🤣🤣
Hello Robert, thanks for the beautiful scenery ... love what you are doing , showing God's creation to the world.
Ah, Utah! I've traveled the length and breadth of Utah. I would tell my husband that if he didn't like what he was seeing to wait a few minutes... By far the prettiest state I've ever traveled.
😬 I had butterflies in my stomach on this off road expedition. You out did yourself Robert!💯💢💥 And you took us with you. Your the Best!
That was awesome when the people in the Jeep recognized you :)
My husband and I are watching this video on July 18th, 2023. We have watched many of your videos, but I can hardly believe you are traveling on such a dangerous road. You were scaring me as you drove along😮
Hello Robert, this is a lovely episode. It doesn’t get any better than this 🎉🎉🎉
Robert thank you so much for poisting this great trip. I was sitting on the edge og my recliner when going on the curves of the mountain. I am 82 years old and would love to travel like you do. But i can sit at home and enjoy your travels. I hope you have a wonderful and blessed 2023.
That road is terrifying 😮 another great video Robert! You never disappoint us😊
This trip was so amazing my wife and I are seated on our sofa glued to a big screen TV and seeing Mother Nature at its finest, through your camera lens. It's spectacular we just wish we were out there ourselves. Peace and Love!
I am very proud of you... I think you are talented, brave and a very good person.....Love...MOM...>>>
I have been enjoying your videos for the past 5 years, you never disappoint and your music is always perfectly matched for the scene.
You hit it with this episode. The off roading is great
Hello once again Robert, I have also driven hwy 12 but I approached going eastbound to Torrey and it was amazing. Looking forward to seeing Las Vegas and California. This was Absolutely breathtaking. Really enjoyed the video my friend.
It goes without saying Captain Pelicanhead, that your skills at handling the Shaffer Trail in the USS Starcruiser, were awesome. I would like to echo the comments that this is one of your best videos yet, definitely a top ten contender. I know I keep saying it but your drone skills are some of the best on you tube, and continue to be as good as anything we see on National Geographic. Top grade production all round!
My compliments on your videography on this trip! Utah is a beautiful state and I will go there again. I was there in 1996. Those switchbacks are something I wouldn't tackle though. You're brave to do them! Thank you for this great vlog!
Traveling Robert...BEST damn show on UA-cam! Hwy 12 looks absolutely stunning and love that gorge on the way to Vegas...def adding it all to my MUST SEE list! Great episode!
I had to run this episode more than once since there was so much eye candy! Beautiful scenery and color. Thanks, Robert!!
This is one location I'm glad to have seen on video instead of in person!!! My blood pressure is through the roof now. Glad you made it safely and keep up the great work.
Add one more to the ever growing list of things Robert has the guts to try that I never will. Gorgeous as always. The gopro loves those red/orange colors.
Road Warrior / Historian (period) 🛻
Adventure calls us all,But we"re afraid to take the first step out of our comfort zone. Thanks for pinning the tail on the travel donkey.lol
You are too brave! We nearly had a heartache just watching how narrow the road was, and how high the drop looked.
Def not for the weak hearted.
Lou & Angie
Gorgeous! Your cinematography is second to none! Thank you for taking us on this journey.
This was an outstanding video Robert!!!!!
Brought back the feeling of so many memories from 11 years ago when I went from East Texas all through that area.
Thank you so much! 🤠
I've been watching your videos for a couple years now and have binged several of your previous seasons. As so many have said in your comments, this is one of your best!! As the title says, these are the best scenic byways in Utah. Our first time in Utah, we took Highway 128 from Cisco to Moab and it remains one of our favorite roads in the West! Highway 12 was fantastic and the views were some of the best I've seen. As several of the scenic pullouts, there are signs covering some topic and they all start with "On a clear day, you can see forever!" Your shots, especially the drone footage, proved it! Your trip on the Shafer trail was amazing, especially right after a rain. Truly a wonderful video--thanks for continuing to make these!!
There's one other classic scenic byway in Utah I'm looking forward to you doing sometime--Highway 95 from Blanding, past Highway 261 to the Moki Dugway, past the turn off to Natural Bridges National Monument, past the turnoff to Hite (stop at the bridge over the Colorado River and take a picture of the red cliffs to the northwest, then continue on to the overlook and try to find the bridge and cliffs), north along the eastern side of the Henry Mountains to Highway 24 in Hanksville. It's a long but incredibly scenic drive!
Save travels!!
I follow your channel for more than 4 years now I guess, and personally I found this video the most amazing of all you gave us the opportunity to watch!! All the places you went in Utah are incredibly beautiful!!!
Wow! What an incredible ride! I've seen some of these areas before, but never as spectacular as in this video, Robert. Thanks so much!!
Next time you're in Moab, take a drive up Onion Creek trail. No problem for your truck to get all the way to the ranch (where the road becomes private). Depending on conditions, you should even be able to take the left turn at the ranch and make it up to Polar Mesa, and then back down the paved road to Castle Valley. Also, your truck would be able to make it up the Gemini Bridges trail from Hwy 191 to Hwy 313, and then back down Long Canyon Road, all without entering either Dead Horse or Canyonlands.
Robert, this is one of the best episodes yet. Thank you for taking us all in your travels. Wish you the best.
Holy 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬my anxiety was definitely up when You were riding the cliff edge and switchbacks! I’m putting You on my prayer list! 🤣 this was one of the most nerve racking episodes. Keep up the good work, Robert. 🙏👋🇨🇦
Gm 🌞 I'm at the beginning of the video I'm at the part where you're going up the cliff now you're going down the switchback I'm going to say you have nerves of steel there isn't any way I would LOL I'm going to experience it through you lol I'm going to continue with the rest of the video good stuff keep up the great work
Great vid Robert, I didn't think I'd last 52 minutes. I was never bored, thanx dude.
Utah is such a beautiful state! Thanks for another great video, Robert 😊 I couldn't do Scaffer Trail. It was nice watching you drive it, but it looked really sketchy in most spots. I'm glad you made it!
Robert you have made my Sunday afternoon once again. Your content is amazing and never disappoints. I was holding on to my recliner and literally screaming while you were on that road. I was so happy when you made it to the bottom!!! God bless you and stay safe!
I think this is my all time favorite episode of Traveling Robert. We live in the Arizona mountains and plan to visit Utah this summer if it works out. Now I know exactly where I want to go!
Great drone work on the Devil’s backbone. I am a geologist that lives in Utah - I received my degrees here. Capitol Reef is my favorite of the 5 NPs. Hope you have time in the future to spend more time there. It is especially wonderful in the fall and the campgrounds in the orchards are a real treat. Great Video!
OMG!! Okay, I never miss an episode of your show, I have even watched the unabridged addition of your Lewis and Clark expedition start to finish and it was awesome by the way. But I ALMOST had to turn it off at the switch backs!! GEEEEZZZ, it scared me to death just watching!! How awesome though, that you made it AND met some fans at the bottom!! YOU ROCK!!!😊
@@penny8579 I couldn't agree more!! I lost my daughter just as the pandemic started and his channel was very soothing. He has a very comforting voice, and is very informative. My husband and I are planning to buy an R.V. and go on the road in about a year and a half, and I feel like I'm ready after having watched him so much!!🙂
We are watching now and I had to go from Apple TV to iPad to look at comments. My heart was in my throat.
Great advertising of Chevy's truck: "Starship"!
And...you saw "Elvis"... again!
All these episodes are mreally good, Robert. There's many times I`m thinking the same statements you make just before you actually say them. That's funny.
Utah looks fantastic! So does most of the West.
Robert...you are such an excellent driver! You keep well within the highway lines.
Enjoy the travels and continue to be in good health.
Another epic video. I'm running out of words to describe these breath taking, heart stopping adventures.
I LOVE Utah! It's so beautiful! I was in Moab, Bryce and Zion August of 22. Thanks for sharing this with us it brought back wonderful memories 😊
Beautiful. Thank you for taking us along
I loved the contents of this video, very exciting. I did that Shafer trail in 2017 and the road was as smooth as an asphalt pavement back then. They must have gotten some serious rain in 2022.
OMG Shafer Trail! Bucket list, bucket list, bucket list!!!!!!!!!
Hello Traveling Robert...and WOW!! Robert, it's great that you managed those hairpin turns. I would never have attempted Shafer Road...definitely not for the faint of heart...WOW!!!...and now let's continue.
You definitely had nerves of steel driving the Shafer Trail. I would have driven off the cliff, which I have done in my younger days. Thank God for AAA. Thanks for sharing Robert.
That was one of the most terrifying rides. 😩. Great job Robert.
I have to watch your videos to fall asleep lol❤
BEAUTIFUL, BREATHTAKING AND SCARY.
I almost fall from the chair, that road was TERRIBLE and scary......I LOVE to drive but.....that road at National Park was out of this world........Beautiful Trip......Thanks.....see ya on the Road......
Utah really is special
Thank you for this episode. it was exactly what I needed today.
So scenic and beautiful Mr. Robert, thank you for the amazing video Sir... 👍👍👍🍻
Extraordinary Mountains and Cliffs!!
Robert beautiful off-road experience, beautiful landscape, definitely Utah my favorite state, as always excellent work.👌👌👌
Wow 😂 I bet that is a trip you will never forget ,you have nerves if steel 😢 amazing video spectacular scenery!!
Look at you branching out into overlanding! Very nice! I watch a lot of overlanding channels and hope to go out west someday soon to experience the awesome scenery in person. As always, thanks for the inspiration!
I’m about to throw up 🤮!!! This drive was INSANE!!! Robert you are a brave brave little man!!!😅 It was beautiful but I shall not partake in that drive so thank you for sharing!!Such beautiful views too!!
Wow that was scary !!! I don’t know if I could do . But you took us there . Thanks so much !!😮
For those wondering, there is absolutely no way to do this trail "in a couple of hours". It takes about 45 minutes from Moab to Shaefer. 36 minutes down shaefer (when road is perfect conditions) and about 4.5 hours from bottom of Shaefer to Moab. If you gun it and barely stop to look at anything, Potash to hwy 279 takes about 1.5 hours but then you destroy your vehicle. It then takes 30 minutes to get to Hwy 191. It then takes another 35-40 minutes to get from Moab to get to Onion Creek via 128.
Welcome to the West and that is what we call beautiful landscape but than again you are in Utah .
Gps tried to take us to Canyonlands from the Colorado River road. Only it was red mud. So glad we turned around and entered Canyonlands at main entrance. The road should definitely have been closed. That was a terrifying ride!! You the man!
You are one brave dude! I was scared sitting on my couch.
I had to close my eyes watching parts of you driving on that trail. Yikes! You are very brave. Great video!
WOW is all I can say, I did not think you could out do Angels landing but the Shaffer tail got me off the couch. Did not know I was that scared of heights.
What a great video, Roberto! Shafer Trail has been the ruin of many a pair of underwear, that's for sure. 😮😂 Good thing Illy wasn't with you! They would heard her screaming in Moab! You got some excellent shots, though. That trail was in pretty rough shape after that rain, but then again, that's what having the Trail Boss is all about. Safe travels!
My heart is still beating fast😮
Love the scenery and the music!💕
Невероятные виды! Очень красиво! Уже был в некоторых местах, но с удовольствием посмотрел еще!
Hello,
Recently found your channel and watched the Nebraska episode. If you go back that way you should check out Warps Pioneer Village in Minden Neb.
I recognized Carhenge etc as my son works for BNSF and started for them in Alliance.
Enjoy your videos, we traveled out west a lot when our kids were younger and recognize many of the spots you go to. My wife has ALS so our RVing days are over now however 😢 so our 'traveling' is by watching videos such as yours.
20:48 I’m pretty sure Elvis Rock is the rock on the right. Great episode so far!
Excellent episode! Right up there with the Angels Landing episode.
Thank you Robert for such a beautiful, beautiful video!!
Just want to Thank you for your videos- I’m from Ocala Florida and planning a trip out west- your videos have been so helpful in planning and places to see along the way!!
Just discovered you! Great drone footage and the drive down the Schafer Trail was epic! We have spent a lot of time exploring Utah with some great memories. Thanks for sharing. 😀👍
44:00 brings back memories of when my family rented a class A taking the same route from Moab, traveled across that Rt 12, into Kodachrome, and then to Bryce Canyon...but that Canyonland Shafer Rd...I think tops your most outrageous off-rd adventure...!
Robert you are very brave 😮you must be glad to get of that Road , it was
Stressful to watch you drive on that Road ! Great job , stay safe Gods speed !! 💕🙏🏼🙏🏼😅
Great video as always Roberto. I rode the Shafer trail on a dual sport motorcycle a few years back. Much more rutted in your trip. Be safe and keep it up!
Bravo!!! 👏 Robert!!!
I really enjoyed this episode!!!
Scaaarrreeee ride my knuckles turned white just watching!
Wow…. Those old petrified titan trees are amazing. Funny people think they are rock formations.
Beautiful video. Drove this trail this summer. Awesome memory.
I enjoyed watching the off road .😉 I am glad you have a trail capable truck. Utah is breathtaking. I loved this wonderful video 🤗 ❤🏔
EXCELLENT VIDEO AS ALWAYS...THANK YOU ROBERT.
Thanks Robert on of your best videos, brings a lot of memories.
Next time you're in the Moab area, I highly recommend doing the hike to Fisher Towers. It's such a cool place! You would enjoy seeing it much more up close. Also, the view from the top of Dead Horse Point is really something. That location was also featured in the beginning of Mission Impossible 2 when Ethan Hunt is rock climbing. Great episode Robert. Thanks! :-)
Always great videos Robert hope you had fun
Robert omg you scare me but I can’t stop watching your video your filming is amazing I am in Australia watching your channel I am a new subscriber thanks look forward to more videos
Watched this on my TV. It was/is beautiful. Thanks Robert.
Beautiful! I never knew such places existed. I have to check it out myself!
Robert we seem to be covering same ground, you in your RV me on my Godwing, bound to run into you eventually...I see you've added some new background music to your repertoire, very nice Robert, but hey I would expect nothing else, goes perfect with the scenery...You Rock Amigo! PS-last time you had me on the edge of my seat was Angel Falls Trail WooHooo✌🤟🤩
Amazing video Robert with incredibly beautiful scenery and white knuckle trail driving. Thank you for taking us on your journey and discovery of Utah. Also, thank you for moving Utah to the top of my next vacation.
When you go to Alaska, you should bring an electric tennis racket because the mosquitoes are absolutely awful. I’ve never been to Alaska, but I’ve seen videos of other UA-camrs and it’s bad but you can still enjoy yourself in Alaska just be prepared by bringing an electric, tennis racket and other mosquito protection stuff
Robert, this is a spectacular travelogue of your travels through Utah. When you were out of your "comfort Zone" driving down into Canyonlands NP I was tightly clutching my chair with an attack of acrophobia! Great driving! And thank you for a truly great video!
Best part of my day! Gooood morning Robert, awesome video! 👍😊
