A headliner cab is 8 ohms. That means the amp puts out 700 watts rms. Two cabs would be 4 ohms. Letting the full 1000 watts rms come through. 2000 peak.
Oh it is as loud as advertised. I hooked mine up to a Hartke HyDrive stack 4x10 + 1x15. The 4x10 was rated to handle 1,000 watts and the 1x15 was rated to handle 500 watts. With both cabs being 8 ohms I was pushing up to 1,000 watts to the two cabs. With very little effort I was able to make the 15 fart out. It was rated for 500 watts and it was getting 500 watts and it couldn't handle it. And no, I did not have the bass or the Kosmos cranked to make it happen. I just dialed in my tone and turned it up.
Can Sombody help me? MarkBass "Little Marcus 1000w" or "Peavey MiniMega 1000w" ? Both amplifiers cust almost the same. I'm Starting with Fender Player Jazz Bass. Thank everybody for help me.
Hey Fabio! Great question! Honestly, they are both great choices. Similar in weight and features the only differences are the interfaces and slight difference in tonal adjustment features. If I had to choose, I would probably go with the MarkBass BUT I have not tested it out myself. I like the Peavey but in my own testing I didn't find the extra features useful for my own desired tone and I'm thinking that maybe I could take advantage of the MarkBass EQ2 settings - but I'm purely hypothesizing. See if you can try them out before you buy, but even if you just pick one I'm sure you'll be happy! Rock on, bro!
Bob Holland Good eye! The amp part of the combo died a long time ago so I removed it and converted into a cabinet using a Eminence 200w Alpha (I think...can't remember exactly)
I have this amp and I love it, but I am afraid to use a cab with less wattage, would something happen if I use a 500w with this head? Can I use it with lower wattage cabinets? Thanks dude!
Hey there! Just because the amp is capable of pushing 1000w doesn't meant it always will be. You should have no problem, and if your cab is 8ohm youll be loosing some juice anyway. Just be smart about your volume control! Have fun.
Agreed! The amp really just speaks to potential. Find the cab you really want and then find a head that is more than adequate and has features you want so it's not working too hard.
Honestly, I have no clue but I'm not sure if it's even serviceable without going to a repair shop. Probably best to search some Peavey forums for best answer, though.
Disappointing. Not a lot of variance at all. But it is the right size. I got away from peavey years ago because of the inability to get that hollowness out of the overall tone without adding a compressor and an EQ. I guess that's why there are so many different amps. This one I would not pick. Because that sound is still there. My Ampeg is still fire. But it weighs a ton!!
I totally hear you! I've dialed my entire tone in through my pedal board but have a Trace Elliott cab and head for external monitoring and the tone is so good I don't need the amp EQ at all
Probably the best review of this amp. Well done
Hey! Thank you so much!
This truly is a world class amp. I love mine.
Amp is incredible
Thanks for pointing out that the Speakon connector accepts a 1/4" plug. Can't wait to try it with my Heritage 810.
Have fun!
Great review! I love that you play a Cort 5 string too!
Hey, thanks!
Can we get a review of the Peavy headliner 1000 plZ
I wish! Unfortunately, Peavey only had this one to send at the time :-( - thanks for watching!
Great VIDEO...very informative!!
Thank you very much!!!
Hi, I have one and connect it to a 410 headliner, but it doesn't seem as loud as it is advertised, should be getting around 700W...tops
That's a great observation.
I played a 200w trace next to a 500w ampeg and the 200w sounded more than twice as loud, I dont think wattage has much to do with volume these days

Looks like a Ampeg B100R cabinet. What speaker?

4 ohm or 8 ohm?
My B100R just died & I'm thinking about doing the same.
I'm pretty sure it's 8!

@@deadheadsteve532 Thanks for the advice pal, Happy New Year!!!

What fuse does it take.

I was way to stoned and was not ready for the detail of the explanation of the hi n lo mid. Was way focused in 😂
Haha that's hilarious! ✊😭
amps good. This guy makes me want corona and not the beer
Haha, I'll take that!
If only the mid sweep had a wider range. I often need to notch the upper bass and middle treble ranges.
Yeah that totally makes sense!
Great demonstration and solid sounds!
Thank you!! 😀✊🏻
Too much talking
