Is it made in Alabama or Shenzhen China is the real question?

Man I love my mini mega and I like the od. But how do I balance volume between the two?! Following the manual instructions did nothing. Volume is lost when crunch is engaged...if anything you would want the volume boosted when an od is active...thanks

Unfortunately there is no way to balance it. The OD is set at the pre-gain and only affects the higher frequencies. Think of it as one signal split into two. The first one has a low pass filter for the lows and that gets no OD. The second gets a high pass filter and the OD. The two signals are recombined before the compressor/EQ.
I'm not a fan of the OD because of this lack of volume. If they added another knob to adjust just the OD gain that would be great.
EDIT: looking at the schematic, shorting R88 a 22.1k resistor, that is padding the OD before it goes to the compressor. It could give a slight volume boost to the OD.

@@Bassguitarist1985 that makes sense. Also makes crunch pretty unusable. I actually like the sound of the crunch for the music we play. Kind of a tubey fuzz when cranked for southern rock. Too bad.
Amp is a beast and sounds great when everything is flat save the punch button on and lows cut to 10' oclock. I'm playing through a 15 though so with 10s it probably sounds great all the way flat. Just sucks I don't care for any of the features lol.
Crunch is out. Compression on its lowest setting to me already squishes the sound to much and drops volume. Cosmos, well...I'm playing through 15s so that won't work and doesn't sound good. I prolly should've gotten the mini max instead. Still has a lot of power and less useless features. Also comes with a built In tuner which would be fantastic on smaller gigs when I don't feel like bringing my pedal board.
Anyways thanks for the help and the breakdown. Appreciated 😉

@@Jack-zc9el I was messing around with the crunch channel a little bit more cuz I really haven't explored it since the first initial test I did when I got the head. Even with my hottest output bass guitar, The gain knob is the main input to both the crunch and clean channels but apparently even going past 12:00 for the gain I wasn't getting any kind of distortion on the clean channel. However when I switch to the crunch channel it is more present in the higher frequency range. Boosting the high knob brings out more clarity. I couldn't really hear a volume difference through my 210/115 stack.
Wondering if that series resistor that I mentioned has more of a purpose than just attenuating the crunch channel, meaning it's a good thing that it's there.
Try setting the pre gain past 12:00 and see if the volume is more balanced between the clean and crunch

@Bassguitarist1985 yeah I already tried that because my taste for the crunch in general was dialed in around the 4:00 position. The volume difference is Extreme between the two channels. They should've had a separate volume for crunch channel.

@@Jack-zc9el maybe it's my ears then. What you're describing makes more sense because the pre gain is so much higher up. The crunch channel is naturally compressed which further complicates balancing the levels without an individual volume control. It further reinforces my original opinion that some features were implemented that were not completely thought out. I would put the crunch channel and the headphone jack feature in this category. Still an overall powerful head with plenty of other useful features. I've been happy with the purchase and the performance. Still nothing beats having a tube amplifier!
