The Alesis DM6 USB Electronic Drum Kit features realistic, natural-feeling playing surfaces, to reduce vibration feedback, Alesis selected natural rubber drum and cymbal surfaces for the DM6 USB Kit's pads. This five-piece kit gets you started on a dual-zone snare pad for dual-sound compatibility so for example you can assign a snare drum sound in the centre of the drum and a rim click, rimshot, or something totally different like a cowbell on the rim ..
The DM6 USB Kit also comes with three tom pads, an upright kick drum pad, hi-hat, crash, and ride cymbal pads. Alesis have included their own bass drum pedal and the kick pad is compatible with any single or double bass drum pedal that would suit your own personal feel.
Withe the Alesis DM6 USB the user can edit and save customised sound drum kits and in all there are 10 pre-sets and 5 customisable memory patches. In addition to the sounds in the DM6 module, there's a USB output that sends the notes you play out as MIDI signal, so you can use the DM6 as a trigger-to-MIDI interface with drum-module software such as BFD, Toontrack, or Reason for an alternative collection of sounds.
The DM6 has headphone and amplifier outputs so you can play undisturbed using the phones or connect up to an amplified audio source and rock out, there's also the ability to connect an iPod or CD player and mix it in with the DM6's stereo input jack. The DM6 module has a metronome, an essential tool for keeping steady time whether you're practicing alone or with a band, additionally the Alesis DM6 USB also has a built-in sequencer with 40 pre-set music tracks for play along to.
The DM6 USB Kit mounts onto a heavy-duty aluminum rack and the standard 1 1/2" tubing enables you to expand and grow the kit with Alesis's own and other brands' clamps and mounts. The kit also comes with a full set of mounting hardware and cables, as well as rugged kick drum and hi-hat pedals.
I had the DDrum DD1, which is the identical kit with a different brain. It lasted two years of my playing daily until I sold it. It was really sturdy.
Early on in this video there were a load of naff novelty sounds. Along with one patch that had a couple of really nice drum sounds ruined by daft sounds coming off the cymbals. Near the end of the 15 main patches some actual drum kit sounds that are at least usable started to come along.
So glad I carried on watching. As I would totally discount this kit completely otherwise.
I've just bought this. I'm a beginner. OK, so it's not the best in the world, but I've been playing it now for a while and it does what I wanted it to do. It's compact, it fits into the relatively small space I have, it sounds good. It allows me to practise and find my own rhythm, my own voice. I may move on to something sharper, more dynamic and with more options - but that comes at a price, and right now I don't know if I'll need or want that. This is a good, solid kit to start out with and learn to discover.
Stephen Watts how long did the drums last?

Yes, There is a Metal preset that changes the hi hat to a second kick pedal. or you could just use a double kick pedal on the pad like you would with a real kick drum.
Oh wow !! Exelent video man , long life the musik ✌
I had the DDrum DD1, which is the identical kit with a different brain. It was plenty quiet enough in my apartment complex, and my complex was built in the 60's with little sound proofing.
music is soo good in the begining
The DM 10X pads are great. You can adjust the heads to feel more like a real drum kit. Hope Alesis release updates to the drum sounds.
It’s been 84 years.
i like this brank so much
Phantom snare hits at 1:03...I'm glad I'm not the only one that has that problem with this kit...
What do you mean by that?
Have you tried putting the hi hat on a different rack to the snare?
DeadPistolsBrainGerms is it a delay effect maybe?
@W0Y4K i have been using this kit for years and it looks like its a very common problem with DM6, so basically whenever you hit the hihat hard enough in the right spot, the kit thinks that you are playing the snare too..
Its because the hardware has not been tightened properly, I have 0 issues with it when clamped down.
Steve Gadd used this same kit on many of his legendary recordings...
Jeff / Listen Dave Weckl using that ( in " Chick Corea Electric band " for exemple ) ... No comment ! but he's even better on classic drums ...

The coolest drum I ever see
He likes those triplets with ghost notes on the 3rd note, doesn't he.
I use it since like ~8-9 months, It's great for beginners, I learned a lot. But now it's pain that it doesn't have any "free" inputs for additional pads (DM10 has) and I usually sacrifice 3rd tom for ride etc.
I've learned a lot and now I'm looking forward to buy either DM10 or expanded acoustic set. I'm also going to sell my DM6 because it's still in perfect condition. Nothing bad happened to pads or anything. Everything works fine, I even broke stick on these pads :)
What you don't notice is how little you can move each pad. Also, the cymbals make a really loud noise when hit. They also scratch/get white marks really easy.
J
them built in jams LOL sound like fucking sonic levels
As an owner of this kit that is 10000000% true
+wasup crew No your not the owner.
+Dat creepy kid accros the street ... hey slow one he means he owns one of these kits.
Just got the kit delivered 7/17/18. Some sensitivity near the cymbal mounts. If you hit them it triggers the snare randomly... Pretty solid considering I paid $279 for it. I was able to build a decent sounding kit out of the 108 selections. Pretty top heavy so make sure you have the legs positioned right. All in all I can't complain.
Tu desempeño es muy bueno. Agradecemos sus explicaciones. abrazos!
Great drumset 🥁
I swear, if i hear him do 2 quick snare hits just one more time....
Lmao

I owned this kit for 1 1/2 years and it did exactly what I needed it to do, sadly I lost it in a shipping accident (I lived overseas and a TON of water got into the containers). The one thing I regret doing is not buying an amp, you need one of those. I would recommend to any beginners, you can get this kit used for $120-$220 USD. If you want an acoustic, pearl export series hands down.
awesome setups

Thank you for the beautiful drum video "❤".
God bless you and all your family.
Have a nice day.
thank you....🙏💕
Hi! I just brought this kit. How do I set up the cymbals so that the choke feature works? Any info appreciated
Muito bom você toca muito bem
To the point without a word, love it....
Got mine today pretty cool
theres something on the back of the drum brain/module that says "Mix In". You need a cable to put in that and use that same cable to put in your phone or whatever in the audio jack
You can add double pedals for every elektronic drumkit's :)
Muito bom . Parabéns pelo o vídeo.
Powerful instruments
Amaizing!!!His good.

Brilliant...sir
Can some one tell me where is the noise coming from ?
Is it from the speaker ?
Apart from it or on it?
Where can i plug this drum? which amp do you recommend me!?
About the snare thing... I believe there is a firmware update that will fix this. I read it is tricky to do but will work. Ok this kit is not hi end but it is decent enough to learn on. I like it. Triggers my DAW drums which is cool but latency is an issue.
I’m using ableton, is it bad enough to throw me off if I’m trying to overlay love?
i loke your drum amazing broo
Wow nice
Hey, nice review. Made me finally deciding to go for this one, as a similar-featured Yamaha costs twice as much.
I have 2 questions:
1) Can you hit the border of the snare to make it sound like when you hit only the metal border of the drum in an acoustic (with the stick flat across the drum?
2) Is it true that these kits have static sound in the background, no matter if playing thru headphones or amplifier? Or does your doesn't present this issue at all?
Thanks for the video, man.
1): there is a side stick sound, but you can’t have both the rimshot and the snare.
can anyone help the kick pedal on dm6 doesnt provide signal when connected the lead fully inside it provides signal halfway inserted and is by hitting the pedal it provides sometimes double sound
you play what i like to play and you play well respect
can this have a double bass pedal on it? if I would need another trigger which one would I pick?
I am a fan of this drum kit🥰😍🤩
Me too
masterclass
Why do my drums sound clumpy compared to yours? Any advice on setting up and using the brain. Thanks
The ride bell is nice
ho una dm10alesis vorrei fare una sequenza che ad ogni colpo di pad parte un suono in successione x poi ritornare daccapo come sifa?
Nice drum
Olá eu comprei uma bateria eletrônica Drum más não to conseguindo ligar.alguém pode me ajudar .por favor
Drat drat is how he stars every beat
"Dut Ut, Dut Ut" Rinse and repeat on the snare.
Aha
😂 agree
Flaming on the snare
This is the kit Ginger Baker used to record ''Stairway To Heaven'' with from the ''Tommy'' album...
that was bill ward fella

i'm a fan alexis it good sound.
It sounds terrible infact. Anybody who has drummed for more than a year will know that this kit sounds terrible.
Eres un genio men😎
This kit is DOPE!
I have An Alesis DM6 and have had nothing but problems with it, have had to replace triggers manually soldering new ones in the kick pedal and the snare 2 times, finally had enough, bought a BehringerXD80, now that is an awesome Kit that wont Break the bank, the Behringer is amazing, so much better, and cheaper.
James Rossi I had something similar to this kit, the only difference really was the module. I detested the drum heads on it as it seemed to almost grab hold of the stick at times, not a lot of bounce. I had a problem with the triggers too, particularly the snare and cymbals. Eventually I didn't even plug it in to play and one of the cymbals finally snapped.
Ryan McGuigan That's a Shame, i really had high hopes for it and for the first few months it was OK, then it started to fall apart. I hear Alesis have upped their game and the high end kits like the DM10 studio are really good kits, but i have been burnt once. not gonna risk it.
When I was buying my first kit to practice on at home, I dreamed of the DM5. Years later, when I had a bit of money, I found out they discontinued the series which sucked.
I've had a DM6 for about a year, no problems except ones due to lack of consistent matenence.
Ninja5640 I am Glad you are having no Issues, I guess some are made on a Monday, others on a Wednesday.
i'm from brazil i have an alesis dm7x the lollipop bass drum pedal i hit the floor and i can't find a pad to use a double pedal
can i add on a additional cymbal for this kit?
hello, i had a question, is there the rimshot and cross stick sound ?
good vid btw
how's that for dynamics and specifically ghost notes? and how does the bell ride trigger works since the cymbal pad isn't two-zoned? thanks
rizzo92 don't bother with ghost notes on this kit, they barely pick it up. As for the bell I'm not really sure
yes sound nice.be nice to see what amp and speakers you are running.as I think sound not coming from the drum kit it self.
The real fun starts (which wasnt mentioned in this Vid )when you plug it via usb to your pc/laptop and use (standalone or in DAW) professional sounding drums (often found free online )no more restrictions by cheesy alesis drum sound!!
how loud is it when just hitting the pads without speakers and/or headphones ? I live in an apt and don't need my neighbors complaining.
Very nice
I have never again played a flam after watching this
Worst demo out there.
My thoughts exactly
I have not played this for years yet
What do you use to amplify this kit and how do you get the sounds on every part of the drum? I'm finding this difficult as I'm used to an acoustic kit. Help please
I've had this exact drum kit for 6 years and trust me, it works with any kind of guitar or bass amp. When this isolation finishes I am going to try it with a bigger speaker with a cabinet. You just need a 3.5 plug cable (the one you use for earphones) with a 6.3 plug adapter (the one used for guitars) and that's all. Cheers!
@@bedroomstudios2614 thank you. I'll get a guitar amp. I also have a problem getting sounds out of the kit depending on where I strike with the drum stick. I was given the kit and don't have a manual. Any advice will be welcome. Thank you
@@georginafairchild7609 that's weird because the toms are very resposive, very limited on sounds and dynamics but responsive. What I find difficult is to find where the ride sounds like a bell. Maybe the pads are not working, I fixed one of them with some soldering iron.
i'm kinda new to all this electric drum kit stuff, but does anybody know whether you have to have an amp to get the sound?
@noodlegraphics there are rimshot sounds but no cross stick
Clean
can i plug this drums into guitar amp
Can you change the hi hat pedal to a bass kick so you can simulate a double bass drum?
Looking for a good beginner electronic kit, anyone have any advice on deciding between this or a Yamaha tdx400?
Olá. Tenho uma batera dessa e não consigo salvar o kit q monto. Qdo desligo a bateria ele se perde, não salva . Pode me ajudar por favor?
Obrigado!
Đã quá bạn ơi 😀🌻
Is it possible to upload in the module some betters sounds?
You have to buy it Seperetly ;)
that sounds exactly like my medeli dd402! even the song in the beginning is on my kit!
Nothing to be proud of. It sounds like horse balls hitting tin foil.
Medeli make Alesis.
@@IansDrumsandBass A fact i never heard the past 8 years!
@@literatetree8394 I can't prove it, but I've read it enough times to believe it I suppose - there's gotta be some truth in it?
@@IansDrumsandBass Yeah, when the sounds are the exact same i reckon you're right!
someone tell me, is their a double peal setting?
+Ethan Lenhardt Looks like you can use a normal double base pedal with it.
super bradhar
this sounds better than the dm10s!!
This is neat and all, but personally I feel nothing beats good ol' Acoustic Drums
DasOmen02 I completely agree, thing is I live in an apartment and sadly the neighbors don't appreciate the sound of drumming as much as I do
Haha I hear ya
If nothing beats acoustic drums, then why even have them? ;)
LukeSnyderMusic Oooh, that was actually pretty clever ;D
