Hey Walt first off , thanks for the great video this ride has been on my Bucket List I am thinking of staying in A airbnb you stayed on Hurricane do you recommend any where closer to Zion Springdale is on my list and thinking in sept or October are you putting any rides for 2022 or 2023 in would like to do a group ride thanks again
@@kevinbraden9445 Hey Kevin! Thanks for watching. This one was a good time I really enjoyed it. Springdale looks reasonably close but to be honest I don’t know much about the area. Hurricane felt like the closest more ‘major’ area for access to non bike related activities or non Zion specific stuff. We rode from Virgin which wasn’t too bad but we still had to drive out from Hurricane. Overall, it’s all relatively close by so any small towns in the area are probably reasonable options.
Man.... this tune.... Man do I rate this tune.... Its like you wake up after a night out yeah.... And your memory is a bit foggy.... But you know you've danced the night away.... Like proper groovin.... And the ladies might have seen, might have danced with you.... But thats not important... The important part was the energy.... The beautiful, beautiful energy.... You roll over.... You check your phone.... No notifications, no worries.. You walk downstairs and your mate Kevin is cooking up some bacon.... Upon further inspection he is making eggs too.... "Oi geeza spare a strip of bacon?"..... Kev doesn't mind.... You've just scored yourself some bacon..... Great start to the day... You glance outside.... The sun is shining... Your little neoghbor Johno is kicking a ball about..... Pure bliss.... This tune is pure bliss.
Just wanted to say thanks for this. You helped convince my girlfriend that we could easily bike the scenic drive (first section) and then hike from there on the same day :)
This is... the coolest thing I’ve heard in forever! So glad I could help with the convincing. Hopefully the hike and bike was super enjoyable. Zion is such a cool place.
Great video. Thx!!! quick question, is it worth bringing an off-road bike? Are there some beautiful scenic trails for off-road biking or is it all paved?
Hey Susan! I’m not sure what the unpaved areas look like. Most of the trails within the park are hiking only and something tells me bikes wouldn’t be allowed. But the surrounding areas there’s likely a ton of beautiful trails to ride.
I'm planning to visit Zion park and take my bike along next summer. I will check out your routes and maybe I can do the same. I just finished Florida Coast-to-Coast trail and looking some rotes when visiting Grand Canyon and surrounding parks next year. Thanks for the video. Nice channel 👍🙂
Hey Thomas! Thanks for watching. Zion is a great place for a cruise on the bike you’re certain to love it. I’ll have to check that out. Never spent time riding in Florida!
Very cool! Such great timing. I was in touch with a guy who just went out there a few weeks back and the ride looked amazing. Not quite in full bloom yet but I’m hoping Spring shows it’s face soon!
Looks awesome man! I will love to ride outhere with someone that’s knows logistics. I will love to join next time you head outhere. Thanks for sharing 🤙🏽🤙🏽
It was honestly amazing. The logistics are pretty straight forward so let me know if you have any questions! It would be a blast to organize a big cycling group to head out there and do some exploring for a few days sometime next summer. I’ll keep people in the loop if I make it happen.
Thank you! That means a lot! I hope to get a lot more cool scenic traveling in this year and I will most definitely be uploading all of those rides. Appreciate the sub also 🤙🏼 stay tuned!
Hey Dalton, thanks for sharing this. I’m going to drive up to Jackson Hole at the end of September and thought I would definitely hit this for a day or two along the way. So, the ride from Virgin sounds ideal. I think you said you stayed in Hurricane but biked from Virgin? Was that just to make the ride 50 vs 70? Or, perhaps the accommodations made sense in Hurricane vs Virgin? Appreciate any insight. Missed you at the BWR - I did the Wafer, you would love it. Thanks - Rich Danesi - from Strava.
Hey Rich! We just went from Virgin because it made more since proximity wise. I believe you can ride from Hurricane but it's an extra 15-20 miles one way if I recall correctly. All in all it would almost be a century. We got started pretty late as well and had obligations to hangout with some friends in the area (not strictly a bike trip) so we tried limiting our time on the bike and making sure to get in the best parts of the ride. As far as somewhere to stay, Hurricane made sense with accommodations like you mentioned. We had an AirBnb in the area with a quite large group. Let me know if you have any other questions. Happy to help! BWR: We spent the day up on Double Peak heckling folks and cheering instead of riding, but next year I'm considering doing the whole enchilada. Catch you soon!
Hey, Katie! I’m actually not sure about rentals. I’m pretty sure in Hurricane there are a few bike rental locations but I personally didn’t have to go through that process. Keep in mind if you rent from Hurricane there’s a bit of a drive still to get out to Zion so you’ll need to be able to transport them. Sorry I can’t help more!
We are going first week of August. Is the Scenic drive always open to cars? You were there in winter apparently, when people can drive all the way thru, I think
I had not heard that. Also, it was closed to cars when I was there. Only shuttle busses are allowed on the scenic drive. It was my understanding that this was always how it is, but I could be wrong?
Hi there! This sort of depends. For an avid cyclist or someone who rides their bike 10+ miles pretty often, biking around the park on a regular bike would be pretty easy. Nothing too much in terms of hills on the Scenic Drive. However, if you’re not used to riding any sort of distance on the bike it’ll definitely be a pretty tough workout. I think it would still be do-able but less ‘enjoyable’ so if you have an E-Bike that’s definitely a great option. Hope that helps! It’s hard for me to gauge really how tough it is for a beginner, an athletic individual might be like “oh, that was easy you blew it way out of proportion”. Haha

That Johno, always kickin' his ball around. If only Kev would make bacon more often. That would really complete my life.
First!!! Wowwy wow Wow!!! What some EPIC & Beautiful scenes. Thx for sharing!!! 🤙🏾
Glad you enjoyed it! I was honestly so impressed with the park having never been myself.

We're going in september, we're renting the e-bikes to go through the canyon. Super excited.
Yes! So awesome to hear. 😊 you’ll absolutely love it. Hope the video helped with planning.
Awesome video! More please!@!@!!!

Do you know if we can rent regular bikes? Thanks in advance :)

The portion where I climbed to the tunnel and descended is always open to cars. That’s not within the “Scenic Drive”, though.
Gotcha. I just saw cars in most of your clips. Wasn’t sure of your location. Thanks! Great video
@@dennisblack6042 thanks! You’ll have a blast. August should be a great time to go even if it’s still a little warm 🤘🏼 enjoy.
hey! where did you put the camera? On a helmet? Nice ride, thanks for sharing!
Yo! Mounted on my bars. Now I mount on my helmet, better perspective.
How hard was it? Do you recommend electric

You only need your legs.
Fing amazing, non cyclist just dont understand
It’s really crazy how you can sort of reconnect with what’s going on in nature on the bike.
