"Can i sit on your back wheel?" "Yeah, sure" immediately gets out of the saddle and drops them
In fairness it was an ambitious request 😂
The go for it was for Hank I guess???? 😂😂
😂 Conor takes no prisoners
Cyclist bullying - “can I sit on your back wheel?” ( real meaning - good god your massive) 😂😂😂
😂
I’ve ridden these roads a number of times, and I still believe that the journey to and from the lighthouse from Pollenca is the most beautiful ride in the world. I’ll never get tired of it, no matter how old or unfit I get.
I’ve done the lighthouse twice, but my favourite is the descent of Col de la Battala
Good to see that the tunnels are made big enough for Connor to stretch out in full width.
First the Ireland adventure, now Mallorca epic ride! Is GCN trying to make everyone jealous? Great videos and rides.
We're just loving being out on our bikes!
U can buy airplane ticket for 14-16 euros to there and back, hotelroom for a night 20-30 euros, rent a BMC with dI2 ultegra and hydraulic brakes costs 40 euros per day. Who can afford a midrange bike, then this is still "free"
Remind me, how much do you pay to ‘subscribe’? And how do you think the films are paid for?
You didn’t answer my questions.
How much do you pay for your subscription and how do you think GCN is funded?
I can give you the answers.
1) Nothing.
2) By advertisers.
Can I suggest that, if you don’t like this model you stop watching.
@@davidgfisher OK Boomer.
You watch all these GCN episodes and you feel like the team could be your local team of friends because you get to know them so well, then you watch this episode and get reminded that they're world class athletes who just drop EVERYONE on these climbs.
Can confirm it really is that amazing there. Thanks in part to Hank (and the rest of the GCN events team) who was extremely encouraging at the bottom, even I made it up Sa Colobra just 18m after getting my first road bike. It was like Disneyland for cyclists and truly epic! Go if you can 😍
@Vegan's R Silly why shouldn’t everyone enjoy it? 😂 Ride like that not worth keeping to yourself
@Vegan's R Silly interesting 😂😂
Ha! Mad how much I recognise from virtual rides on RGT.
I'd head up Coll De Sa Batalla instead of Femenia, incredible climb. Definitely the right call to descend Puig Major - horrendous climb that one, especially in the heat!!
GCN need to send these guys on more epic rides like these, this was definitely refreshing to watch
I'm sure Hank and Connor would agree
Living vicariously through these recent ride videos, when I haven't been able to travel with ease for the last two years. Thanks GCN!
As always, GCN produces top drawer videos for us mere mortals to watch and drool over. Cracks me up how these riders can talk and ride at the same time! My lungs would fall out my arse if I attempted that! Now I am playing hooky from work and looking up ways to get from Phoenix, USA to Mallorca.....
I'm going to Mallorca for a week long bike trip in May and this got me real excited for it!
It's awesome out there!
Nice. Go now on impulse then go again in may :D
Anyone has any advice on going there in January?
@@ronulo For me from May to June are the best months. in January it's fine, but sometimes it rains for a whole week
The ride over to Artà and Betlem monastery is another stunner guys. You get to look across the bay of Alcudia 👌
Hank: it's October and it's 26°C!!
Me, living in Scotland: that sounds like hell on earth. Give me a toasty 17°C max.
17ºC is winter coat weather for me! Never even had the opportunity to ride in such cold conditions.
@@tabidots 10°C is short bibs (but still long sleeves thermal jersey)
Nice to see Hank and Connor riding on the "right" side of the road for once. Plus it is quite funny to see two riders that have less than 10% body fat talk about eating croissants....oh and the therapeutic beers.
Absolutely beautiful!
However, I‘d argue that the Route in reverse is even more stunning:
Col de Soller from the South is amazing, with all those hairpins. Then, you get to climb the biggest climb on Mallorca, the Puig Major (Tùnel de Monnabar). Sa Calobra is the same, which ever way you go about it, but coming up to Cap Formentor is one of the most stunning things, and a perfect way to end a ride.
I miss the yearly pilgrimage to Porta pollenca ! .... Last 2 yrs no trips!
With this video you have won the next 10 cycling inspirations
Beautiful Mallorca! Beautiful landscapes on a bike ride.
I would enjoy longer Videos from the rides. There is so much more to show.
Went to Mallorca in august 2019. This takes me back :D Thanks GCN!
Thank you for this! Been riding in Mallorca several times on vacation, always great fun :)
Thanks to the GCN team for showing us around these epic climbs. I will certainly be back next year.
Just home last week from a trip to the Beautiful island and taking in all these amazing roads and climbs! What a place!!
Can’t wait to go back to the island. So many great memories brought back by this video. EDIT, went and found my Sa Collobra climb which took 42 minutes
Thanks for sharing such a beautiful ride Hank and Conor, definitely my bucket list, maybe after a year or two.
Exactly the content needed for a Monday morning
Went mid 1980’s for couple yrs with the cycling club. Both great trips great memories that have never gone away but great to see you guys go over the same roads. We used to chase the sprint signs in the day and the different happy hours in the evening!
I can’t imagine anything better than going for a beautiful ride and randomly running into the GCN crew. Hopefully some day!
It’ll just have to be a wet dream until then 😂😂😂
Been looking forward to these videos coming back great one. Mallorca is also great for the family too the beaches are perfect for kids
Looks amazing lads! Definitely inspired to get myself out there. Thanks for sharing this.
I’d love to see more practical bicycle travel videos. If I visit country X, what routes and climbs are good, how bicycle friendly are the towns, will trains/buses/ferries between cities let me take my bike on board, cultural dos and don’ts as a cyclist, ideal seasons and seasons to avoid if you want to ride in that country.
The best cycling experience I have had. We did Formentor Lighthouse, Sa Calobra, Soller and I didn't stop smiling all day! Beautiful roads, spectacular views, iconic climbs and fantastic food. The beer wasn't bad either.
I did that route in reverse 3 years ago. I love that place, and can barely wait until April...
Mountains , that too at the sea coast!! Truly , a cyclist paradise.
So many stunning climbs. Sweet roads, respectful car drivers. Coll de la Batalla is my fav.
great vid stunning scenery...."Can I sit on your wheel mate?"
Two year's since I was riding the same climbs. Got to go back next October for sure.😍🚴♂️💪
Perfect timing im flying to Mallorca tomorow with my bike
Riding, laughing, eating. GTN well be onto you for pilfering exceptional content!
Flying to Gran Canaria next week for a week of cycling, Mallorca is definitely on my list as well.
Just did this same route in reverse, that descent to soller was incredible and the climb up Puig Major the most challenging climb I’ve taken, but the rewards are spectacular.
So jealous, that looks amazing 😍
4:56 "keep going, you got this!!!" *dismounts*
There are so many different things to see on the bike and the real visual beauty, so I recommend it.👍🙋♀️
Lucky lucky boys! Love it.
Those two beers at the conclusion of your ride look marvelous! Never been to Mallorca, likely never will, but a good spread and a few beers after a great ride provide me with a few select memories. Nice piece.
Watching this video whilst on the island and I rode Sa Calobra for the first time the other day, never seen a climb like it, majestic but brutal.
Excellent, inspiring and envious video, Thank You. Ive been to Majorca with the bike not as many times as I would like, due to having a family now, but the joy of it all comes flooding back with your video. Roll on lottery win and I would deffo buy a place out there!
Love Connor taking the wide option on the uphill hairpins. GCN presenters....they're just like us!
Great way to finish the ride!
That looks so amazing. I should book a trip to kick off the 2022 saison.
Been there, done that... Excellent!
Very good video. Beautiful scenery. Nice reward for the two after there recent adventures. Take care, Al
Wonderful video! Love it !
That WAS a pretty, uuummm, romantic ending scene... LMAO!!! Great video and epic is the word for the locale!!!
GCN should do a ride like this in Québec! That'd be awesome. Great video!
Lovely bike and jersey colour-way nods @Conor Dunne. Top man 💪
Rode in 2018 to Soller down full speed in the hailstorm of doom, to reach the cafe at traffic circle when you come into the town. Then totally soaked to Palma ! A Day i will never forget ! Damn !💯🚲😋
Is riding in Mallorca on your cycling bucket list? Let us know in the comments below! 👇
I have been to Mallorca twice so I guess my bucket list would include another time! Having ridden in a lot of places in Europe and North America, I have to rate the island as simply one of the best places on earth to go cycling.
Our club go in May 22 for a week😁
yes and would love to join a future event although I will probably need to improve my fitness first
I’ve always wanted to visit and ride there. We were booked to go for the first time in April 2019. That didn’t work out so well so we plan to get back there. I am curious what gearing the guys would use for their epic ride?
I’m heading there in October 2023 I’ll be 68 then with a dodgy hip. so could be my last chance to do Sa Calobra
Just did that in September and loved (suffered) every second of it!! 😅
I'll put this on my bucket list!
Ive been exactly at all these places mentioned in this video two weeks ago. GCN made a nice souvenir video for me! xD
I just got back from Mallorca last week. First time cycling there. Did Coll De Sa Batala, Coll De Femenia, Sa Calobra and Cap De Formentor. Absolutely awesome. Your video makes those climbs look relatively easy. Sa Calobra was the toughest climb I've ever done. Hard graft indeed. Great video as always 👍
lovely
What a sweet place to ride alone
Amazing ride! Absolutely beautiful!
It was!
These two are great together though it took most of the day to get the fist bumps sorted! There are some excellent flat rides in Mallorca too but the mountains do call and I guess the Sa Colobra is a 'must do' epic ....! Thanks
Already booked in for May 22 and absolutely pumped for this now! Better shed some kegs though 👀
Yup. Sa Calobra was on my Bucket List. .. in 2018, almost literally, since I climbed it with Atrial Fibrillation. No KOM for me. I had come from Alcudia via la Feminia, and returned via la Batalla. It was the day of a violent rain storm that took a number of lives in the south east. I beat the rain by a few minutes.
Love the video and really nice ride!!Hank looks like a little kid when he rides next to Connor hahaha, he is just sooo tall, I'm amazed he finds frames that fit him!!
Great watch!
Ahh man beautiful what a ride!!! You guys gotta come out to NYC not as beautiful but definitely interesting!!
Amazing ride! We smashed out some of those climbs this week!! Although very disappointed that the QOM didn't get a mention as well....there are some strong female cylists out there too!
I went there when I was in the Marines. I wish I had my bike the entire time I was there.
Thanks for coming to Mallorca ! Definitely a cycling paradise. I showed up at zafiro hotel just for a chance to meet you, may be next time. Cheers 🍻
Last time I went up soller was 30 years ago and it was a bit of a nightmare with traffic, I remember getting stuck behind big buses, must be amazing now there’s a tunnel so much less traffic. Would love to go back one day!
Great show🇿🇦
First time to see you guys riding on the right side of the road :)
Great to see you while filming on puig major!
This is E.P.I.C. 💯
Very nice place to bike
Was out there the same week, awesome place 👏🏻
Did a few days cycling out of Soller in September and really great roads and amazing descent down Puig Major after the climb. You can catch the ferry from Port Soller to Sa Colobra which avoids having to do the Puig climb if staying in Soller. Great route around Daia as well and back over Col De Soller on way back.
Daia is beautiful!
Awesome
I ride Mount Dessert Island every year in Maine and evey cyclists favorite climb is Cadillac Mountain......3mi 1000ft elevation gain with amazing views....must go!
Been there done that!!
Port de Valldemossa is also amazing. Been there two times. I need to get back to Mallorca fast
i would love to come here but the wife recently became disabled through illness and with 3 young kids makes it impossible unfortunately maybe one day keep up the good work chaps great content :)
Freddie is going to love the 312
Awesome 🌞🌞🌞
Could you possibly have the best job in the world? Riding with your mate ( I hope 😂) in an amazing location, followed by a delicious looking dinner.
I was there the same week 😋
if Mallorca sounds intriguing - this video does NOT do it justice - it is even BETTER than shown - Mallorca is certainly a cycling Mecca - seems every time Hank said - " just LOOK at that view over there! " and pointed left or right - the camera seemed to QUICKLY focus on the bike wheels ? - not sure why they started at Cap de Formentor when you usually cycle to that location from Port de Pollenca and then come out as it too is a one-way road like Sa Colobra which is an epic climb - the roads are exceptional - traffic is usually light in the off-season but far less so in the summer - I heard they are usually PACKED then and definitely to be avoided - the scenery is simply STUNNING everywhere you look and then you get incredible panoramic vistas of the Bays and Sea breaking out every so often - mild temperatures with low rain - highly recommended but GCN should have done it more justice - NOT TO MISS
I think they have a couple of videos from the Mallorca event coming.
Can you be my tour guide?
I'm on a GCN vid! Yeah, togheter with Hillary climbing to the San Salvador.
Wonderful video!
That looks like a nice place to ride
James certainly gets around. This time last weekend I was sitting in the lineup with him surfing Woolacombe in North Devon. Thoroughly nice guy happy to say hello to some guy looking at him strangely with a vague sense of recognition (me)
Check out Puts for a cleaner wave
Funny to read some fellow surfers / cyclist here! I love to cycle when there's a flat spell 🙂
Great video!
I have serious ambitions to ride in Mallorca. I recently did a little bit of cycling in the Isle Of Man, and that has some stunning roads to ride too. Druidale, Snaefell and Bungalow were all highlights for me.
