I get emotional every time I hear this song. Judith Durham, the beautiful little gal with the amazing voice. RIP Judith, you were loved by so many of us.
im so proud of Australia for this group even tho im a kiwi. they also have the best anthem ever in 'I am Australian ' its an earth song echoe for all ages
The combined voices of The Seekers have harmonies to die for. Judith Durhams voice just rings like a bell. I have seen her many times over my life. Her voice is effortless, as if she barely need to take a breath at all.
They were big when I was a teen. Loved their songs but forgot about them through time. Re-discovered them recently. Judith was a phenomenal singer. Was listening to them for about a month then Judith died, I was so saddened by this. Her last song Carry Me amazing.
I'm 70 now and I loved the Seekers growing up and Judith Durham's voice was so pure! I'm glad it was captured along with the guitar's and base on vinyl and original amps of that time! So sad to loose a talent like hers
The Seekers, an Australian group, were popular in England when I lived there as a kid (I am American but lived in England,my mother's homeland, during this era -- starting in 1964-- from ages 7 to 18.) Have loved this music since then. Thanks for the nostalgia.
Great song reaction such a beautiful song Judith Durham sadly passed away, her voice was amazing we in Australia have lost a beautiful person but her memories will live with us forever in our hearts best wishes and many thanks for sharing another great Australia song if you like to do a reaction is called great southern land by icehouse 👌
Yes. There's no words that can describe this song and its rendering by the seekers. It transcends space and time. Anyone listening to it anywhere in any generation will be affected by it and love it.
Thank you so much for sharing this. I was tearing up along side you hearing this. Amazing how they created so much joy with vocals and three instruments. They will live forever. RIP Judith Durham
The sweetness, innocence and romantic sincerity of this song express qualities we seem to have lost in the popular culture. Sigh. We’ve given up in favor of mere eroticism or self-obsession.
Isn't Judith's voice beautiful? This band was among the best groups that came from the folk revival of the early and mid '60's. Dang were they ever good.
I was ten when this came out. Loved it. First record I bought, Woolworths, Tunbridge Wells. We'd been living in England from 1961 when we moved here from Makurdi on Benue River in Nigeria. I thought the record worked as a hymn and I had recently become Christian. Delighted to find the B side was 'Open up them pearly gates'. She was a lovely Christian woman and their music was so uplifting that even miserable people (like I would discover my father-in-law would be) were touched and, for a few moments, healed by them
Same studio the Beatles recorded in. We just lost Judith Durham, the lead singer here, last summer 2022. She had pure tone, and beautiful sound, perfect phrasing and breath control...she will be missed. they were from Australia. this was an international hit.
A beautiful song, one of the best! So touching. And how cute and natural is she with her pigtails, basic dress and black tights. Classic and classy. RIP
The songs from back in the 50's and 60's were all about love and when you listen to the lyric's and close your eyes you get a feeling about what love is about and it is to bad that now a days there is less love in this World adn we need to go back to the way it was. Great song, thank you Royal Tehillah for playing it and thank you to the Seekers for this beautiful song. 😊❤
I'm in my sixties and this is one of the few songs old and modern, that makes makes me cry. It reminds us there is someone for all of us and that the long-long-journey is worth the treasure when we find it, no matter what it takes to get there. God bless the Carpenters and RIP Judith Durham.
When the seekers returned to Australia back in 167/68 they performed at the Myer music bowl in Melbourne to a crowd of 100,000 people. The people of Australia really loved them Judith Durham will be sadly missed
This is one of the all time great Pop/Folk songs. Judith Durham is superb here, with her sublime lead vocals, riding about an octave above the others - to create a beautiful ethereal feel to the song. The baseline guitars and banjo lay a beautiful instrumental baseline to the song. FTR, I am a retired, professional music critic with 45+ years experience and 60s Pop/Folk music doesn't get much better than this song. 😁👍
They were extremely popular back in the mid 60s when folk music was a big hit. Listen to their song Georgy Girl sometime. It was more of a pop tune for them and reached number two on the Billboard chart in the US.
Check out "Georgia girl extended fan version" They reuse various parts of the song several times. It's beautifully done. I'm also trying to find an early music video using this song. This music group hired a girl dancing in a crowd at a nightclub to be in a music video and they did not know she was for many decades. That young dancer, now a grandmother heard that they were trying to find her. Several other women tried to fake being her. When the real dancer contacted them, they had a wonderful interview and reunion together. I'm sure it was this song. If anyone can help me find it please let me know. Thanks
No disrespect to cilla dusty Helen shapiro sandy sure, list endless in 60s,,but Judith Durham it appeared effortless when singing,,great loss,,ye,to very end her voice stood test of time,,I rest,Jim,cvw

There will never be another Judith Durham.
@@nickgov66 She made ALL of us cry. For decades.
Catch their last hit - The Far Shore.
In my opinion, this is close to being a perfect song. The vocal delivery and the beautiful message in the lyrics are incredible!
Thanks for not stopping the song every 5 seconds to comment. The song deservers to be heard.

I loved your reaction to this beautiful song with the heavenly voice of the late great Judith Durham.
It's telling how defensive Judith carries her posture.. like "Don't f*ck with me, people!"

I think you hit the nail on the head, the sound of the Seekers IS irreplaceable. So sad we don't hear anything like that these days.
When the seekers returned to Australia back in 167/68 they performed at the Myer music bowl in Melbourne to a crowd of 100,000 people.

That was a beautiful song! Loved this song! Wonderful reaction! Thank you 😊

Sincere, maybe that's the word that you are searching for. RIP Judith.
What you are hearing is the difference between musicianship from a time when it felt like every note sounded important compared to now.
Try Carry Me. Hint: Judith sings about dying. “The bird has flown. Begins the mystery…”
I lost my husband at 34, ❤i used to sing this when i was little girl 62 now, it is still my party song, for him❤
Wow, may be continue to rest in peace

Wasn’t Judith’s voice divine. 💕
It's not SO old! WHen this came out I had been married 7 years and my son was two years old. Now he's 52 and I'm 77.
Never heard “Georgie Girl”?
Not trying to sound disrespectful but this was the swinging 60's, back then it wasn't so multicultural & the only place on earth to create great music
