They even out sold the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and others in the 60's. They became England's favourite folk band !!! Which is amazing for a small Aussie band. Judith's voice was one of the purest I've ever heard❤️ I'm a very proud Aussie. RIP Judith Durham 🙏🌹 the world will miss you 🌏🪐🍀🌕🙏🌸🇦🇺🦋💐🏡🦉🌴🌈⭐⭐⭐

That performance of Georgy Girl was in front of 200,000 people. The largest audience in the history of Australia.

Judith has a one of a kind voice. Some compare them to Peter Paul and Mary (who I loved) but I think the Seekers had more charisma and Judith's voice was simply stronger. In fact, in her 70s she could still hit every note as if she was 20. Her loss is huge. She was a sweet, kind, unassuming icon. She faced so much tragedy and injury and illness and she never quit. I freaking love her. I am so sad she passed away. She will never be forgotten. She was quite the woman.

By all accounts, Judith was one of the sweetest, most humble stars ever. A truly magnificent voice. She and Mama Cass were incredible. And her bandmates loved her a lot, and got a chance to say final goodbyes on the phone. I tend to be more of a hard rock fan (Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Uriah Heep, BTO, etc.), but the pop harmonies of this group were scintillating. And that song, "Georgy Girl" Judith wrote about herself. She felt in the 1960s that she was too fat, whereas the rest of us saw her as a knockout. By the way, this announcer is really enjoyable to listen to. He learns about the musicians as he goes, and that is perfectly fine.

Thank you for your respectful reaction to our legendary Australian- to me their biggest hit and perhaps the most popular for us Aussies is I am Australian. Closely followed by the Carnival is Over. Many of us want I am Australian as our national anthem!

So very sad! The world lost an incredible talent! And a kinder, gentler soul you'll never meet. R.I.P. Judith.

Georgy Girl is the theme tune to a great film of the 60's with a fantastic cast of VERY talented English actors.

They did a concert in the 60s at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne to an audience of a reputed 200,000. Estimated to have been half the population of the city at that time. She was Melbourne’s daughter.

We have lost one of the most beautiful voices in the music world. When she was 60-70 years old she could still sing with her lovely voice. I loved her, when I was 15 years old. Rest In Peace, Judith. You are truly loved and missed. I will never forget you. ❤️🌹❤️

Back in the 60’s The Seekers were bigger than The Beetles and The Rolling Stones! RIP Judith Durham, thank you for the gift of your unique voice that you shared with us. Their song I Am Australian is the one I love the most and I think it should be our national anthem. It tell the journey of Australia from start to now!
