This was a great video! We are leaving for our big lap at the end of the year. Yesterday I submitted an application for exemption from attendance to our principal. If it gets declined then we will probably go with Sydney distance ed. my daughter will be in year 3 next year so it was great hearing your experience.
Been loving watching your travels but just to clarify - Unschooling is still homeschooling. It is simply a ‘method of homeschooling’ You still need to register with the Ed Dept, it’s just that you will school in a child led manner. 😊
Hello Ebony! I know I way behind in the videos and I am hoping to start catching up. I never heard of unschooling so I learned something new. Have a good day and safe travels!
Thanks for sharing all these tips guys, it's really helpful. My bf and I are also from NSW and are planning to have a long trip around Australia with my 7 years old daughter. It's nice to see all these actually worked out for you guys 🤙
Awesome stuff guys and very informative! Distance education seems like the way to go for having everything organised for you and knowing your meeting certain standards!!
Yeah I’d agree with that. But once we’ve had some experience teaching our kids now and are more confident with it, I think homeschooling would be amazing because you have more control of it and option to tailor it to the child - their abilities/likes etc. More time consuming from the parent’s perspective. The good news is that both options are there 😊
I can’t believe you can’t home school in NSW when you’re on the road?! I’m a teacher and had planned on homeschooling my kids for our big round Australia trip. Hmm…
We're trying to do the same, which distant educator did you use? We have an 8yo and a 11yo. Yours sounds more flexible than the one we are considering with ACC.

Absolutely. We're still learning about it too :-)
I don't have any kids of my own but still found it very interesting how it all worked.
Cheers Paul 👍
We plan to be travelling by December and we homeschool with a program

@@ebonywaugh7271 I guess it would be a good place to start then switch over if you’re more confident! We can’t wait!!

Thanks mate. We love you guys right back! 😊

Yep, crazy. Some people change their address to relatives’ in other states just so they can register for homeschooling there to get around it 🧐
