Wow. Those gorges were spectacular. Nature at its best here. Hope to see them one day. I have never towed our van. I leave that to hubby. I must say what skill you have putting your van in that space to get power. Well done. Loving your episodes.
Thanks Lyn! It's a bit of fun trying to get the van into hard spots...as long as we get it in there without hurting anything, or end up in a fight of course! Thanks for watching :-)
Thanks again for sharing your journey the gorges were spectacular as were the swimming pools and water falls. I will treasure your photos of these places as I will never be able to do some of those walks. Emerald & Ace were very brave to be able to complete those rocky climbs. In your journey journey talk you mentioned some great golf courses, did you manage to play Ballarat course. Looking forward to your next video
Hi Jim. You are most welcome! Thank you for all of your support. Yep Em and Ace were absolute troopers on these walks. We didn't get to play Ballarat :-( So many courses, and although we had intentions to play a lot of them, there is definitely less time in the day than we expected when we started travelling. Might need to do a lap purely focused on playing golf - though that would be very expensive!
Great episode of such a magical spot! Was interesting to see Joffre's has steps down to it now, when we did it last year there wasn't and it was quite scary trying to get our 5 & 7 yr old down. Well done on your parking 👍
Wowsers, that would have been interesting getting down there with no steps and a 5 & 7 year old. In saying that, we did go the other way too where there were no steps, but it didn't look as steep/straight down as where the steps have been put. Such a beautiful part of Australia hey?!
@@onthewaughpath6552 Hi Ebony! I am good and getting back into life. As you know I just watched Danny and your Dad on his show. One thing I would love to see Danny paint is the Grand Canyon in Arizona. I hope Emerald is good and Ace get well soon! Have a good day!
Thanks Steve. Yeah whale sharks were awesome. We might do an episode just on Tassie we loved it that much. If you can stretch to 8 weeks, that would be great. We still saw most of it in 6 weeks, we just missed out on the North West of it.
@@onthewaughpath6552 My wife and I would love to see an episode on Tassie. By the way, those water holes and Gorges were awesome. What a great adventure you guys are on.
Hi mate - will do! Will get us up to date with where we started the Nullarbor (should only take one more rambling for that), and will then answer this question and a few others. Let us know if you have any others. Thanks for watching :-)
We absolutely love your episodes, stumbled onto one of your latest videos and now have gone right back to the start to watch them all and we are loving it! We love the ramblings so please keep them up. We were wondering also, how much does it cost to get the car & van over to Tassie on the ferry? Keep up the great work guys 👍
Hi Jo. Glad you found us and thanks for watching :-) I think the ferry was about $1,600 when we went, but it will depend on how big your car and caravan are, how many people are travelling, whether you go day or night, what dates you choose, and whether you get a room with beds or just a seat. We would definitely recommend going night-time so you can sleep most of it away (it can get quite rocky and there's not much to do on-board), plus we'd suggest getting a cabin to sleep. It's definitely worth it though. We did Tassie in 6 weeks but 8 weeks would have been perfect.
thanks mate. Some you could camp just outside, leave the dog in the van for a few hours and then explore. Or, there are a lot of dog sitters around catered to caravanners so you can still enjoy national parks.
You're the only one who requests the songs though Meg! One of Eb's sisters has suggested we remove the singing all together. Will keep a bit in for you though :-)
Hi Guys, good episode tonight. Love that the kids did those hard gorges! We're new followers to your vids and wondering if there are any videos of Tassie? Thanks.
Hi Therese. Sorry guys, we did 6 weeks in Tassie but we didn't start the UA-cam until we'd been travelling for a year. The episodes start in Perlubie just before we cross the Nullarbor and enter WA. But, we've had a few requests for Tassie, so we might do a vid just on Tassie as we have heaps of content from our trip there that we can share. We cover a bit of it at the end of episode 11 in our ramblings if you want to check that out for the moment. Look forward to chatting more with you in comments :-)
Waiting anxiously for next episode .would u be able to help,my wife and I have decided to do it all again on our own,So looking at GC and van but GVM ,GCM, ATM,TBM,BUT what would be approx payloads cheers safe travels.😎
Hi Richard. No problems mate. For the jeep, the GVM is 2949, GCM 6099, towing capacity 3500, towball download maximum 350. For the van the ATM is 2939 and GTM 2742. For all of these we are just under, and for the GCM we are well under. Hope that helps.
A question... I like in your rambling...you mentioned 8 weeks in Tazi is perfect. I'd love to know your guys thoughts the same for other locations if doing the big lap. Also where would you suggest starting if coming over from NZ like...fly into? Start.... and how long is reasonable. I'm thinking of picking up work as I go...anything. So nice to see you all again. Helen-Maree 💯🥝❤
Hi Helen-Maree. So Sorry we hadn't replied to this! Hmm, that's a very tough question! We think that 12 months is too short to do the lap. You probably need 6 months just for WA, 2 months for Tassie, 2 months for SA, 2 months for VIC, 3 for NSW, 3 for QLD and 2 for NT. They would be minimums I think. 24 months total would be perfect. 18 is great, anything less is rushing :-) But it does depend on how fast you like to travel.
Loved the episode congrats to the kids for doing such a good job on the gorge walks. Don’t know whether you know this or not but youtube have thrown political party ads which is the only downfall to the episode. Happy trails guys
Hi Dave. Yep hats off to the kids, so proud of them. Thanks for letting us know about the ads. Will research what we can do to reduce the ads. Don't want them turning people off watching. Cheers.
I have a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee with seats like yours. Try a weak mixture of warm water with sugar soap. to Dilute it . Later try a Pressure Pack Carpet shampoo treatment and vacuum it when it dries. It might need a couple of goes. It might also clean that part of the seat so well the rest of the seat cries out for some attention :)
Hi Nivek944, thanks for that tip! The whole van and car are so filthy, they all need a lot of attention. Every time we go to clean them we're about to head into some other dusty or sandy spot and think 'what's the point?!'. But I suppose if we had that attitude we'd never make our beds either. Will give your method a go. Thanks!
Lovely family. Little troopers. Glad you enjoyed my home state despite the mishaps. Havent seen any snakes then? Oh and how did you fix yoga mat to window please? I missed that . Duct tape? Would that affect the paint on car?
Hi Liz. We actually did see a baby brown snake at one of the gorges there but didn't get footage of it. We fold the ends of the yoga mat around the sides of the window before closing it. We use duct tape to tape them to the inside part of the window as it folds around. If we've cut the yoga mat too small (we've done that once), we wrap a bed sheet over the top. Hard to explain! Will try to show us putting it on in a future episode.
Spectacular gorges and brilliant backing skills. 🤩 Great stuff. Plus it seems the universe was trying to stop you getting on the boat to/from Tassie. Glad you pushed through. 😎
It totally seems like that's what the universe was telling us. Maybe we should have listened? Maybe something extra special would have happened to us in Tassie? We'll never know...too stubborn for signs sometimes!
great epp thanks guys. Glad to see the smallest ( toughest ) menber of the family did the spider wall. so like our youngest grandson! i'd love to know about the jeep as a vehicle and especially as a tow vehicle. Pro's, con's comfort, power. Cheers.
Hi Colin, yeah his little legs would have been cooked after all that walking. Super proud of them both. We've been really happy with the Jeep. We're going to do a review of the car at some point, so hopefully that will help.
