Gotta be honest, when you finished the 2nd solo I couldn't fight the urge to sing "and when you lose control, you'll reap the harvest you have sown" !!!!!
Excellent! These solos, along with his masterful guitar work in "Shine On, You Crazy Diamond" are what makes David Gilmour, in my opinion, one of the most distinctive and unique lead guitar players ever.
Fantastic playing my friend. In the process of working these 3 gems out myself. Been referencing this video with tabs and it helps a ton. Thanks for posting!
You play awesome, perfect exact Gilmour strat sound, correct, and accurate playing in one of the most difficult PinkFloyd songs. It is obvious that you are a high level guitar player. musician. Keep rocking...
He surely is talented but he nailed the sound effects 100% accurate. Its sound is identical to the original song. Bravissimo, continua così. Ce ne sono almeno 10 dei pink che puoi rifare.
Never thought after hearing this for the first time when I was 13, now almost 30 years later that there would ever be anyone on earth that could ever duplicate those solos like that. I’m just stunned. Marry me?
How do you achieve that sound modulation in the section from 1:28 - 1:32? It doesn't sound like a single note but like a mixture of harmonics or something. And it looks like you hold the same fingering position, yet the sound gradually changes. Is it because you slowly move up the string as you pick it? It's sort of like a flange effect, but somehow different. I am mystified! Amazing performance of these solos, thank you!
Thanks for the kind words! Those are pinch harmonics, you can achieve that effect by placing your thumb near the tip of the pick. If you pick on the right spots with the right pressure you get different harmonics from the same fretted note.
Thanks Luc, glad you liked the video! Francesco PS: check my tribute band out, we are "touring" the whole '77 setlist: ua-cam.com/video/gxVy89P7vBA/v-deo.html

I could totally hear Gilmour himself playing it exactly like this on tour. Perfection!

Very Nice
Very delicate and spot-on tone. The playing is terrific
Very nicely done! Most don’t get that middle solo (my favorite) correct. And the tone on that one is so hard to duplicate. Nice job!

Maybe a rare opinion but I think Solo #2 on this song is the greatest Gilmour solo.

John Kemp here again. Are you using a Leslie or signal processing?.I only ask because"Leslie" is in title. Curious guitarist : John Kemp
Hi again John, unfortunately it's not a real Leslie, it's the Rotor Cab plugin that ships with Logic Pro X.
i have the same amp (mustang 1v2) but i'm no where near tones like these, can you give me some tips/help or share the presets with us?
Those tones were all recorded direct, so without using the speaker cabinet.
If you use headphones you should be able to get better tone for sure.

Because Mustang is the name of the amp I used

Dude where did you find the tabs for this?
I learned it by ear
You ignored the harmonised solo, which is the second one.
Can i just use a chorus?
A chorus or a flanger will do the job. If you have one with a mix knob it works even better.
Excellent! Bro, the tone is so good.! I invite you to see my cover of the main solo. Great Job!
