      15% of the weight is on the truck.

      @Happy Camper You make a good point. Seems far too many manufacturers push the limits beyond the specs because they account for the extra weight being on the pin. Although true in most respects, three 7K axles would be better.

    Saw this RV on Andrew Steele’s you tube videos. Excellent craftsmanship! It’s what I’m looking for in a few short years. Just concerned about falling out of the kitchen and or bedroom. Steps up and down on both sides of the RV. So a person just has to remember or see steps. Thanks for the view & info. Happy trails and new year !!

    Good review of a nice trailer, appreciate the info. When I retire in a couple of years, truck driver I pull a 53ft trailer now so this 43ft will be a piece of cake but I don't know the rv'ing part. We're planning on selling our house and going full time, going with the RiverStone 39RBFL. For weight distribution I'd rather have the washer and dryer over the axles and also really like the 1/2 bath. I also agree that it should be pulled with a dually, so getting the 3500 GMC Sierra Denali dually.
    Thanks Lavon

    • @johnbates9753

      You should investigate the efficiency of the washer and dryer. We full timed for about 5 years in a new DRV and had the option for a washer and dryer, but was told by quite a few full timers with different brands of RV’s that the washer/dryers were not very efficient. I hope that they have made improvements with them. We always used laundry facilities at the parks. We saved weight and had extra storage for hanging clothes. Good luck full timing, we hope to get back to in within a year

    That's a beautiful RV. I love the huge kitchen! I would like to see some sort of a small two seat dinette instead of that breakfast bar. One other improvement they could make might be opposing slides in the bedroom. I get that with the extra thick walls and a king size bed there will be less room, and it does have a lot of storage space, but the bedroom feels a bit cramped. Putting that fireplace wall on an opposing slide would open it up just enough, or a deeper slide for the headboard. Still, one of the nicest full time units you've shown. Will consider it.

    • @micheles2016
      @micheles2016 4 роки тому

      I think the breakfast bar is one of the best features, RV makers can put in a unit. Tables and chairs are a wasted space in my option.

    One major flaw: other than the bar, where do you sit to eat? Bar is big enough for a couple but this fiver is made for a family........except for eating. Love the construction but still have 2nd thoughts about any Forrest River Product. I would look at Northwoods Arctic Fox Grande.

      One of the biggest complaints I have about this layout. Why would you put a huge kitchen in an RV and only have 2 spots to eat?

    • @jesseykerner4867
      @jesseykerner4867 4 роки тому

      The front kitchens are my favorites but they're not made as much as mid and rear kitchens. My biggest complaint here is the fridge is not accessible while you are traveling. So you would need to pack a cooler for drinks and stuff. I rarely use my dinette so that wasn't much of an issue for me.

    I know that you mentioned residential insulation in the 3" walls, but the questions that come to mind are:
    1. How do you think it will fare in Canadian winters (as low as -25° to -35° Celsius)?
    2. Is there anything that can be done , aftermarket, which would improve it's Winter performance? (i.e.: pipe insulation; additional insulation; additional heating; etc...)

    Great floor plan. Love the front kitchen. I like the heater ducts on the floor way more efficient for heating. Wish they would go back to putting heater ducts at base boards in homes. Heat raises. Now days the furnace has to work twice as hard to hear a home because ducts are on the ceiling. Thanks for sharing JD and Happy New Year to you and your family.

    My bf and I are empty nesters thinking of doing the full time rv life. We're really liking the major improvements made by Jayco and have been touring several different models online only. We spend most of our time relaxing in our recliners. The theatre seating in these units seem nice, with heat and lumbar massage I understand, BUT, I've never seen anyone open the recliners on these. I've seen several units that appear as though the recliner closest to the couches would in no way open. Has this been a problem because I can promise you, if I spent that amount of money on a new "home" and couldn't open my chair, I would not be happy. Wondering if you have this info or could start showing the chairs in the open position during the tours? Sometimes it's the little things that can make alllllllll the difference. Thanks! Enjoy your videos. 😊

    This is a really sweet rig. It's also one of the few where I saw an exterior exhaust vent for the dryer. I like the window valences, too; elegant without being too gaudy. Too many higher-end luxury RVs have window valences and slide molding that call far too much attention to themselves. No visible exhaust vent for the range....not good. The TV's way too high for living room use. The best view of the TV is from the kitchen bar. Considering there's no dinette, that may have been by design as the owning couple would probably eat most their meals there.

      yes. There are other front end kitchen layouts I like better. I've seen one that puts a place to eat at the very front with windows. The fridge was off to the side. That would be my fav because it offers another place to hang out that isn't directly across from the sofa.

    this is a really nice riverstone but I wish they would move the bedroom forward and take up the space of the bathroom and move the bathroom to the rear and use the full width of the trailer to allow for dual vanity and maybe a bigger shower

  • @chrisc6874
    @chrisc6874 3 роки тому

    The speaker makes it sound like a dually can tow more weight than a standard truck. EX: If you have a dually 350 and a non dually 350, the only difference is the amount of pin weight they can handle. Most non dually 350's handle around 3k pin weight 250's or 3/4 tons a little less (when I was shopping in 2015). I had a ram 3500 6.4 hemi (wasn't even a diesel and towed a torque toy hauler with it. That engine was a monster for a gas engine. I think the dry weight of the trailer was around 13-14k and the pin weight was somewhere close to 3k. It struggled a little up steep hills but on flat lands had no problem. I wanted to avoid a diesel cause I rarely towed. But the truck handled the weight great. I have seen guys pulling triple axles with 3/4 ton diesels and they thought they were good cause they had a diesel. Of course the back was squatting like crazy

      1:50 and what is going on with that silicon seal to the left of the sticker. This thing is brand new. I would demand that fixed.

    Wow just Wow this is one classy fifth wheel, I would like a motor home but, after seeing this set-up and then having my truck to pull it instead of pulling a vehicle with a motorhome and getting maybe 8 to 10 miles to the gallon I think I would rather go this route and in the long run, it would be cheaper than spending half a million on a nice coach? I could get this and buy a brand new dually diesel pickup for probably less than $220,000 total all in for both if and when I'm ready to go. This thing is just beautiful, really making me think of going the fifth wheel route to travel. I'd have no problem living in this RV. What a beauty, thanks for showing it to us with your in depth knowledge of this RV.

    What the heck is hand-laid vinyl!? Stick on vinyl tiles or perhaps vinyl laminate flooring?

    They put the registers in the floor for heat because heat rises reckon and the furnace is gas and inside the trailer and a is on the roof so it's in the ceiling maybe and cold air falls

    Can you recommend a trailer that has the capability of pulling a trailer behind it? I'd like to find a trailer that I can pull a car hauler behind. Thanks

    I don't understand why there are 3 loveseats & no dinette or table/chairs...thats a massive camper for 2 people! I'd rid of one loveseat & make that a 2 person dinette/up to possibly 4 ppl....and I'd prefer my kitchen sink by a window...just my opinion ;-)

    fyi, The 24" washer and dryer wont work to wash clothes for a family--only 1 or 2 people. I could see this trailer working ok for a couple--more than that and I'd want a dishwasher and a normal washer and dryer (especially when spending ~$120k)

    Beautiful rv, however the blinds seem to be very cheap. I have always hated those blinds, they are cheap & they tear very easily. Seems like with this *BEAUTIFUL* home they could have came up with something else for the windows. Other than that small detail, I love it. I could live in this full time. Thanks for sharing 👫🚙🌷🌳💗

    This is a beautiful rig. Does it have an on-demand instant hot water heater? Just a little disappointed with the 2-seat eating area though. Would it be possible for you to do a review of the Keystone Alpine 3701FL rig, which is similar to this Riverstone? If you've done a review of the Alpine, I couldn't find it on your channel. Thanks so much.

    Hmmm...can't imagine anyone in Texas buying one of these. One tornado or hail storm (with Texas-sized hail) and that would be that.
    Might be nice on vacation land elsewhere outside of tornado alley.

    After seeing the battery compartment what is your experienced opinion on batteries for the RV? Specifically multiple 6v in series or series parallel or multiple 12v in parallel configurations. We are moving back to the states in 6 Mo so your channel has been gold to me because a fifth wheel will be our first big purchase. Cheers and Happy New Year.

    RV manufacturers need a floor plan that will cater to couples that bed separately.
    Many 'older' couples do you know.
    I may go bunk house for this reason.
    Remove the couch and put in a super single bed.
    Be nice if they came this way for this demographic.
