JD My husband and I love your videos. We recently bought a Jayco Eagle 317RLOK-2020- In our floor plan the -5 gallon water Jug fits under the sink in the island. Jayco also gave us the garbage can that fits right next to it. I just wanted to tell you that jug is connected to a pump- that jug supplies water to residential fridge- with ice and water in the door. Also it supplies water to a small faucet which is right next to the regular faucet . We really enjoy all your videos. We look forward to seeing your future videos. GREAT JOB!
I do like the idea of this floor plan. I do think if you have that much sleeping space only 2 seats in the living room seems like not enough. I do like this better than the similar Montana that has a rear slide.
Love it! Works good to go to dog shows in. It has so many plusses...no carpeting, washer dryer hook-ups, contrasting colors, double doors between bunks and main rooms. Wish it had booth with storage underneath instead of table/chairs. Best floor plan I've seen yet.
I don't yet own an RV but am planning to buy one at some point in my future and go full-time RVer, while still working (already working from home these past 18 years). I will likely also have a non-spousal companion traveling with me, so 2 bedrooms are a must, tho we could share office and bath space if necessary. So far I've come down to toy-haulers, but this floor plan presents a lot of interesting ideas as well. Thanks for the walk-thru!
Now, I agree, this has a nice layout. It is literally 2 bedrooms with 1.5 bathrooms, and a sleeping loft! The living room is tiny, but that is the tradeoff for the extra bedroom and 1/2 bath. Nice unit.
Yup, especially if you used it as an office and didn't need access to the wardrobe in there, you could still use this in campgrounds with 40' limits and still more or less still use your office.
Amen!!! Towel bars in the bathrooms!!! Toilet paper holders...?? Rarely do I see those. Bathrobe hooks? Hooks / closets inside the main door. Drying rack? Or at least a shoe mat. We're camping, it's rained all week.
I really, really, really wish the manufacturers started offering more units with actual offices. I detested tearing up my new Open Range to make the bunkhouse into an office. All they had to do was leave one of the sofas out of it. Instead I have a sofa in my storage unit.
We sold our extra sofa for $250 on FB marketplace. We knew we wouldn’t need it again and that we will have our FW for long enough that it won’t make a difference in the re-sell.

I did a search on this model after watching this video. There appears to be a butcher block panel that fits on top of that island end drawer to greatly extend the island. It also has a flip top dresser in the front bedroom.
I’ve always wondered why there aren’t more units with a rear slide, it makes perfect sense to me! I’ve been looking to buy a Grand Design Reflection 30BH but they only made them for a couple years so they’re hard to find!
Would make a decent private area when the kids drive someone nuts, or to get some work done away from the action... Really only a necessity for an active family or road dwellers.
I like this a lot, except I need my bedside tables, I'd settle for a queen bed if I get my bedside tables with plug ins & phone chargers, plus room to get out of the bed. Otherwise, this would be great for our family. I'd like to see it with the slides in.
I’ve always wondered why they wouldn’t utilize a rear slide. However, I would put a north/south facing bed in the slide. Especially in a smaller RV, 20-25 feet. That would really open up the bedroom.
Great question. Biggest issue with a rear slide is the weight and leverage it puts on the relatively narrow rear wall that could lead to separation from the super structure. Not sure how Jayco addressed this with the North Point.
JD when you pulled that drawer out on the end of the counter I think it could be used for a trashcan so if you’re chopping potatoes or prepping a meal you can easily slide the scraps into the trash. Just a thought
This is the perfect floor plan for my family. Currently have a mid bunk and don’t really like it. I’ll have to try and find one of these to see in person.
It's like a toy hauler that's been converted. That would be a great toy hauler conversation kit to copy. Even better if it was a ramp or deck on rear so could option for multiple configurations
"STAIRS" for loft...YAY! Need to see more of this rather than those very badly made ladders....LOL These steps are pretty unique to. Like them but not sure my pups will. Will have to test them. Those tiles in bathroom shower have been coming loose when staying in overly warm areas. I saw another video where adding some type of wall screws in each one helped keep them in place. They are noticeable inside the shower, but how it was done was not tacky at all. Looked decorative. Not sure if this is a wall insulation thickness problem or what. And I'm pretty sure the cutting board in the kitchen sink fits into that missing section of the slide out counter top, that our narrator was curious about.
Thats a beautiful rig, Jayco makes some great campers. Was a bit surprised the tires are almost touching the axles are so tight to eachother. I know on a 5r it doesn't probably matter as much.
This looks like a great layout! Thanks for all the reviews you do! These are things that stand out or questions that I have... 1. No chrome, glitzy, overly polished surfaces. Plus mostly white/off-white surfaces with dark trim. That's fantastic! How it ever came into the manufacturers' heads that real people want glitz and chrome -- or ever wanted glitz and chrome -- has always eluded me, especially with the million-dollar RV's and Fifth Wheels. Good design doesn't seek to impress with sleek chrome and glitz. It impresses by disappearing into form and function, natural room flow, durable appliances and fixtures that just work and lighting that compliments without glare or pomp. Most RV's over a million dollars tend to come across as vulgar -- with importance placed more on ostentation than beauty in function. 2. This isn't close to a million dollar RV, and yet I would choose this Fifth Wheel over some of the more gltizy million-dollar RV's. This is in no way ostentatious, and yet outwardly it fits form and function well under multiple use cases, as you pointed out. 3. My concern is whether they've used stapled particle board or glue, screws and real wood. For anyone living long-term in an RV, staples and particle board simply don't last. Again, this is where durability comes in to play. Which are we seeing in a model of this cost range? If this is wood, glue and screw, I'd give this model a closer look. 4. Washer Dryer hookup is possible! How durable and easily repairable are the appliances that have been installed? 5. Solar and LiFePo batteries would be great on something like this. 6. Not an easy area for CPAP machines in the MBR.
@@MichaelBrown-kk6ck It's less about the size of the bed. You need a shelf or cubby where a CPAP can sit securely without being in the way ideally below the level of the mattress to reduce the likelihood of rainout. This design includes no such shelf or cubby approximating the role of nightstand where a CPAP would normally sit.
@@LaughterOnWater Right, but I’ve seen a bunch of plans where a queen bed leaves room for a couple of small cabinets with enough room on top for your CPAP, but no cabinets if you get the king bed instead. I’ve never paid much attention to whether my CPAP is above or below head level as I don’t use the water tank. For me a queen is a good size and I’d very much want the bedside tables/cabinets for CPAP/phone/etc.
@@MichaelBrown-kk6ck Sounds about right! Besides the reduction in rainout (I do use a tank), keeping the blower below the mattress adds additional noise baffle. I can barely hear my CPAP from the bed level. It's also better for my wife so the lights don't wake her when I have to get up and she wants to sleep. Below the bed level is good!

Beautifully laid out 5th wheel. Love the stairs to the loft and the rear slide is genius. I'm going to assume this unit has G rated tires. I don't think you said. Thanks JD!
I think they should invent an expandable slide that turns into two bedrooms on top of each other with nothing but a mattress in each room that slides out of the storage space underneath and becomes another room beside the camper so it only takes up as much room as like two mattresses plus a couple of inches when stored

Nice review. Definitely need some doors on those shelves in the bathroom. Especially the lower ones. Items stored there could get splashed by those with poor aim. Lol.
I probably should clarify, that I love this channel, and I wish I wasn't so old and unable to manage such a huge rig. And if I was younger and my finances allowed, I would definitely have a huge truck and huge RV, but I realize that my age is making me think of a more maneuverable and compact rig which might prevent me from damaging every stationary object that I might come close to. I think traffic would part like the Sea did for Moses if they saw me coming in a huge rig, bobbing and weaving down the highway.
"You have a 2 in receiver..." That is *very* limited in what it can do thanks to that slide. Fortunately, not a big deal, because those are generally limited to light things like cargo racks anyway. . It's a shame the loft isn't 4-6in taller, but for kids, it's probably fine. All in all, I love the floor plan. It pretty much has everything one could want in terms of features; washer/dryer hookups, the ability for more than 1 person to use the bathroom, room for kids, full-featured kitchen. . The only complaint I could have is a lack of sink for the outdoor kitchen, but a sprayer or something could be added to resolve that problem
That was a very interesting floor plan. I could see kids arguing over someone I’m the half bath and they cannot get into/out of the room, but “get over it” right. LOL. Thank you, I like it. Congrats to Jayco on a good floor plan.
There is a cutting board “leaf” (at least that is what it resembles) that snaps down in that space when it is pulled out. We have a 2021 NP 377RLBH that we purchased from that same Ron Hoover dealership. It has the same island with the cutting board extension. It has a bag and stows below the bed. Gives the island a lot more room. We have ours in place all the time.
I love the island it would allow for kids to help and eat at it... I’m really loving this new set up but I’m a huge sucker for the forward kitchen units. This is a close second though!
The placement of the sink is probably in spec with KNBA residential specs, having 18” on both sides of the sink. More function for food prep in a gourmet kitchens
@@LordFalconsword I bought a 2020 F250 diesel 4x4 for work, there were no one tons to be found in July... a smaller trailer will be fine for my needs and easier to camp in state and national parks
Nice. The loft is cool. Love the steps. Pretty kitchen. I think that drawer in the island holds the sink covers? However, having to walk through the half bath to get to the bunkroom is a deal breaker for me. Really awkward! Suppose you are in the bunkhouse, and someone is using the restroom. You're trapped. Also, only two chairs in the livin room.

I can tell you when it comes to bottled water I prefer the "purified" vs "natural or Spring" water.....if you would care to share a link to one you have used and like...I'll look at it.
Thanks!
I like. It. I have two small kids. Only thing is do different is I’d go with a queen bed with better checking on the sides and I’d lose the theatre seating and kitchen table and add a large L shaped couch.
I see a major office potential for the rear slide or a whatever room for empty nesters
Wow great unit! It looks as though your filming in black and white if not for the color of your arm demonstrating.
Nice review. Definitely need some doors on those shelves in the bathroom. Especially the lower ones. Items stored there could get splashed by those with poor aim. Lol.
I'm realizing that I need to find a channel to watch called, Little Truck, Little RV.
👍 Agreed! Thinking I'll start that channel but need to find sponsors like this guy. 😉
@@vanvorst1999 just go for it! Reverse engineer the hell out of all the successful channels...
lol
I probably should clarify, that I love this channel, and I wish I wasn't so old and unable to manage such a huge rig. And if I was younger and my finances allowed, I would definitely have a huge truck and huge RV, but I realize that my age is making me think of a more maneuverable and compact rig which might prevent me from damaging every stationary object that I might come close to. I think traffic would part like the Sea did for Moses if they saw me coming in a huge rig, bobbing and weaving down the highway.
@@vanvorst1999 keep in mind that JD would not have had any sponsors the first day he started his videos.
Nice rig...wish you turned the lights on
You can put the silver wear and steak knives in the kitchen chair storage.
"You have a 2 in receiver..."
That is *very* limited in what it can do thanks to that slide.
Great catch! I hadn't thought about that.
The open pit drawers are for trash bin drop access for cutting fruits and vegetables then sliding them off the island into the trash.
This RV is pretty awesome! ❤
King size bed, without any space for a CPAP unit. 5 of our friends bought RV’s with nightstands for CPAP units.
The back bunk room would make a great office
That back slide out area reminds me a little of a European Bunk Car on a train.
Wonder if the cutting board/sink cover goes in that flat island drawer?
It does, saw it on another walk thru. Great idea.
That's what I was thinking.
I love the island it would allow for kids to help and eat at it... I’m really loving this new set up but I’m a huge sucker for the forward kitchen units. This is a close second though!
Yup
probably looks a whole better with the lights on
So maybe that cutting board that covers the sink goes in the side drawer on the island for additional counter work space??
Contrasting finishes considering kitchen sink and front bath but no slow close draws and cabinets doors.
Honestly, love it.
The placement of the sink is probably in spec with KNBA residential specs, having 18” on both sides of the sink. More function for food prep in a gourmet kitchens
I really like this one two bedrooms needs a queen bed not king not fun getting out of that bed
I'm luvin that rear bunk house/office space... too big for my 3/4 ton though 👍
Get a 1 ton. It's worth it.
@@LordFalconsword I bought a 2020 F250 diesel 4x4 for work, there were no one tons to be found in July... a smaller trailer will be fine for my needs and easier to camp in state and national parks
Really cool. Like it a bunch.
Very nice unit. I'd like to see queen bed with decent size shelf for cpap machine.
