@@AxiA yeh man this one in particular the lighting and directing was beautiful. I also bloody loved the red komodo footage and review from you. I'm torn between the red and the new canon c70, it would be rad if you did a review of the c70 too, looks insane! (16+ stops of DR etc) 🤯🤯
@@jonnynoakes9070 would love to try that camera ... unfortunately I don’t know anyone who owns it and I dont think I’ll buy it myself for now :/

That kid's good!
Melanie Nolley he’s already a star!
Am new to black magic 4k and premiere pro user. now got this cam and Davinci too. did the film convert got the colours to look this nice. or just Davinci Resolve alone ?
SN VISUALS I do my grade mostly with resolve, with film convert I just give a bit of an extra punch at the end. But the color palette is pretty much decided in resolve
Lmao this is amazing!
Hadi Mroueh thank you !!
Loved the film man
loved the bar lighting. What lighting set up did you use. looks crisp af.
I dont remember well, but I had light coming from the bar, to the subject fairly high. and I had a giant white flag behind the talent so I could get some bounce.
Wow this could really set itself up for a series! Hooked from the start. I thought all the direction and writing were on point! What lights did you use for this?
Pavel Shmelov thank you so much !! Making a real tv show would be so much fun !! I used mostly quasar lights
Great Short Film and Lighting was perfect. What lens did you use?
supercool
Даниил Малеванов thank you ! spasibo !
Awesome film, loved it and thought pacing was perfect!! Nice work. I saw below you use a sigma 18-35 (so do I) and a tamron 17-50 2.8 lens. I have the sigma version of this lens and it slightly vignettes on that lens while using my Viltrox 0.71x speedbooster. Not sure if you used a speedbooster but do you ever notice vignetting with your tamron? Thanks in advance!
Yes I never shoot DCI for that reason!
Great work! I've watched a few of your films. How do you like the BMPCC4K and are you using a speed booster?
Hey man, I love these shorts! What lens did you use for this shoot? Also what type of lights?
Thank you! I used Sigma 18-35 1.8 and Tamron 17-50 2.8 , TIffen variable ND 72mm! As far as lighting I used the Aputure 300D and Quasar Science Tubes
Beautiful footage and good storytelling. What were your basic settings on your PCC4K? BRAW?
Woww how did you achieve this crazy good lighting?! Can you explain the setup?
Glad you liked it! It’s a lot of different set ups but don’t worry nothing too complicated. I shot this completely alone so I wasn’t doing anything crazy.
Loved it, Great shots and entertaining throughout! Great work. Is this one persons channel or a team channel ?
A good branded logo and name will help loads, Maybe an intro for familiarity, Just some feedback. Cant wait for your next upload.
SaberGaming thank you! This is just my channel , whereI post mostly my film making work. However me and Joe (the main actor) create this short films , so we work pretty much as a team
@@AxiA I see, thats great. Look forward to the next vid !
Well done bro! only one thing to point out! he was playing PS4 and not XBOX ahaha! perfect tho
SUPPLY I perfectly know that lol. Just Xbox sounded better and most importantly it’s a shorter word, that worked out better
Would you like to share look Up Table you used, perhaps a breakdown of your CG process. Just by recording ur screen, it will help greatly.
You are great!
And Please brother, what camera settings did use?
Really nice !
I'm impressed with the quality of the image. For the bar scene you used a big softbox in front/top of the actor, a litle back/ or top, I'm forgetting some lights ?
Did you work a lot with masks in Resolve or you work essentially on the colors ?
I know you must have followed a lot of tutorials, but which one would you recommend to achieve this colorful result ?
Thx !
Enrolladennoù thank you !! I used multiple lights to create contrast. Here there’s a ton of different light setups all over the different scenes. I’d say general rule is always 45 degrees key light and rim light in the opposite 45 degrees. I didn’t use many masks to color this, maybe 2 or 3. I’d say there’s not really a tutorial that I would recommend. I just play around a lot with stuff and slowly I get what I want, but it’s a long process, i might have taken me 6 hours to grade this whole film. I’d say look up the Davinci Resolve official tutorials on UA-cam.
I now understand better how you arrived at this result :)
Brilliant work, thanks for sharing. Is the Tamron the VC version and does the image stabilisation work with the Viltrox?
aNELeOnwuka yes the Vc. It IS works. I have a commlite focal reducer not the Viltrox
@@AxiA Thanks. That's good news, I might pick one up to be a light gimbal lens.
sound has really good quality, nice lighting , and production design, wardrobe choices, I am wondering how could you accomplish that with only one man, without boom operator and 2nd AC. it is an amazing project
Thanks a lot!! It takes time to shoot this stuff by myself but if you go slowly and don't rush to film it's possible to do it. Also, Joe the main actor is really working hard to get stuff , props and so much more.
@@AxiA That is really great! Thank you for sharing your good experience, from storytlling to acting , cinematography, colorgrading, production design and editing your films are really phenomenal and impressive!
Really like the colorgrading, shot on ProRes 422 or BRAW?
BRAW 3:1
I very appreciate your films,it also professional and funny. And I come from China ,you can take a chance to film in China.
Ginger South thank you so so much! I’d love to film in China!
I’m glad you want to go China. My hometown is Harbin,it’s cold but beautiful. And I work in Beijing, when I was in college I study in photography. Our classmates also make short films together. So if you go to Beijing or somewhere in China,we can film together and hang out .📷 My English is not so good 🤣
Ginger South maybe one day!
Really good story and acting :) Congrats! The look of the film is also amazing. Can you please tell us what lenses did you use for it?
Sigma 18-35 and Tamron 17-50!
@@AxiA Super! You are master of lighting, color grading and filming!!!..I thought the good look of the BMPCC 4K video was before all because of the super quality of the ZEISS type lenses, but you are proving that this is not the case and that the artist is the most important!
I gotta say this is the first film of yours that really took a jump to the next level. For me the big changes seem to be:
A) lighting
B) Audio
C) Pacing and edit
D) Composition
If you don’t mind me asking, what process and tools did you utilize to make such a big jump in overall content quality? Did you change mics, add lights, take more time in pre production?
Thanks, man! Yeah, you're right this was definitely the one short film that made me realize I was getting better. This was also the first short film that I colored in Resolve, the one before was colored in Lumetri. That also was big. But besides that yeah I decided to light every shot and never settle for the ambient lighting I was getting. Pacing also was important, in comedy having sometimes a fast pacing editing can help to keep it engaging and interesting, and also the fact that we change locations all the time keep it interesting. But besides all this, I feel like just working and doing stuff makes you better without realizing it...I think we all matured (Me and Joe) experience. Also, Joe got a lot better as an actor in this one, and Jonny the little kid is a great actor, and that stuff is not on me, it's their work.
How is the quality soooooooooooo gorgeous even in 480p or what lens you have used, or something else is the secret .
Avinash Rawal thank you so much! I think it’s good lighting paired with good color grade. You can do a lot with just camera basic stuff
Will you do any BTS to show how you light your scenes and record audio? Your work is really awesome.
Travel Addict thank you !! Unfortunately I work completely alone so I can’t shoot the main film and BTS but I might do a breakdown of the scenes as far as lighting if people will ask for if !
AxiA we would like to see how did u light it 🙌🏾
AxiA we would like to see how did u light it 🙌🏾
By any chance, do you use a light meter or false colors? Your image quality is amazing.
I don't own a light meter! But I do always use false color! That's a great tool!n Thank you! Check out my latest short " breaking social distancing"
@@AxiA Watch it? I've been sharing it with others that own BMPCC 4k's to show them the possibilities. I'm a fan and a fellow cinematographer.
The story and acting were good and I forgot about BMPCC 4K camera. What lens did you use to film this short film?
Dash 545 thank you so much ! Glad you liked it ! I used mostly the tamron 17-50 and the sigma 18-35 1.8
This was fun...really enjoyed it.
very glad yo hear this! I posted a new one yesterday, check it out if you have 3 spare minutes :)
Man this shit was fire Love it. What Lens did you use ?
Shazamm the iPad Producer thank you !! Glad you liked it!!
@@AxiA do you mind letting us know what lens you used?
Shazamm the iPad Producer sigma 18-35 f1.8 And tamron 17-50 2.8
@@AxiA great I was going to get the sigma with this camera
This by far is my favorite one, this kid was a gold mine for this skit. He nailed it...hell I think he outdid you LOL. Seriously this one the one the one of your coming home to find out your girl was working with Mandingo 🍆 LOL...suds you should start a real comedy skit. Did you shoot this scene with only one camera...your angles are superb.
Thank you so much! yes one camera only! The kid is amazing, no doubt about it!!
This was great! I love how you lip synced the people talking.
menoats thanks !!!
@axia you did it all in camera ? or did you increased the speed a lil bit ?
Bryan Bacilio I don’t remember perfectly. But I think mostly all made in camera at real time speed
Hi Amazing Grading...can you share your Grading Process ??????
Amrik Bedi I Director I don’t really have a planned process, lots of try and error
@@AxiA Share some bit of it in a Video .Would be Great !!
What are the lenses that you all used? It’s looks great.
sigma 18-35 1.8 and Tamron 17-50 2.8
@@AxiA Did you use a speedbooster?
Delachi One yes a Commlite Focal Reducer EF to MFT
lol that‘s funny
freakge G thanks ! Super glad you liked
what lens did you use & mic setup
I used the tamron 17-50 2.8, very cheap lens’s. For sound I think used the Hollyland Lark 150!
How many cameras do you have setup?
c chan this was shot with only one camera. We just rolled multiple takes for different angles
AxiA awesome man!
what lens are you using here with the BMPCC
This was the tamron 17-50 2.8
what adapter did you use for the sigma!? This was shot really nice btw
SoaR Fameful thank you! I use a Commlite focal reducer !
AxiA are there any cons with this one? cause I was gonna buy the metabones one
SoaR Fameful I have no idea. Never tried the metabones. Everyone says the speed booster is the best it might be the best one. I just didn’t wanna spend that much money for it ... so many things to buy for this camera I needed to save some cash TBH
AxiA is there any black vignetting with the commlite?
SoaR Fameful there is when you film DCI and wide focal length. I usually shoot regular 4K , but I think the metabones is better for vignetting
