This is how you prove that dialogue isnt everything, Visual storytelling at its finest!
I was so focused on the movie, that I forgot you guys filmed it with the Blackmagic pocket cinema camera 4k. Well done!
Alirio Silva thanks, that’s great to know you enjoy our film :)
Same! I was appreciating all the other things they did well! They did good compositing on the vehicle driving.
Me too! That's the hallmark of a great movie
that's the best kind of compliment! good film whether on a black magic an arri alexa or a camcorder.
Now that is storytelling. No dialogue, just good editing and stellar soundtrack. And a plot twist I didn’t see coming. Bravo.
wow....this really inspired many of us....keep it up bro
WHAT THE FUUUUCK? What a plot twist HHAHAHA congratulations for the cinematography, was beautiful and very cinematic. Great job!
...... So good i wasn't expecting to stay and watch i just wanted to see some black magic footage but ..... I couldn't stop watching I was so invested sheesh great job love the ending.
No dialogue movie is hard to pull off. I love the overall vibe of this film. Also lighting the scene and framing are executed perfectly.
The amazing Pocket 4k production I've seen!
can't believe this was shot with the viltrox speedbooster, heard it was too soft, This looks great!
I love the lighting in the interior shots. Very intentional & helped the tone of the story.
I comeback to this film every now and then to take references
loved it! great filmmaking and use of the bpcc4k
This is the best short film I've seen. Great Job
Nicely Done. Good shooting. Camera can't be beat.
Keep up the good work guys.
Soundtrack is phenomenal and glues the visuals nicely
Love it! Love the grading!
That was really good. Great job!
Love it!!
omg, This was so good, didn't see that coming.
Fantastic production, best I have seen from this camera
Came to see the BMPCC4K in action. Was not disappointed! Great film.
thanks :D
Wooow...this was realy outstanding....great story and very cinematic...seem perfect to me!
AMAZING!!!
This is the best one,
so far from a blackmagic movie 🎥
This was just great filmmaking. Nice work!
I like how you use minimal lighting it's really interesting how you frame each scene. Awesome job!!!! I also just got my BMPCC4K today so I'm gonna make a crap ton of short films for a while.
thanks, we had tight budget so we just did the best :)
@@BalconyDigital it's cool I understand I'm also a upcoming film maker so I know the struggles.
InfiniteSession looking forward to your film as well :)
@@BalconyDigital Thank you!
Fantastic work. You guys have real talent.
Excellent work and cool plot twist. A secret is better kept between two people if one of them is dead.
Fantastic job!!!!
Super dope ending!
Got lost in there for a minute. Nice. Camera does great too.
Absolutely well done! Fantastic work!!
tks :D
AMAZING
woow so nice light, color grading i love, +1 sub its so perfect work !!!!
Wow this was amazing
whats so powerful no words spoken
which len do you use the most in this shooting? I have Canon 28-70 and Samyang 16mm but I plan to upgrade for sigma 18-35 as well
Awesome Short! And very fitting musik! Keep it up:)
Well done, guys!
wow I never comment but I just had too. Fantastic work...
Amazing 👏
Great work!
muy bueno , congratulations!!!
Nicely done! Beautiful camera work! How is that Viltrox adaptor compared to the Metabones speed booster?
HOW CAN I GIVE MORE THAN ONE THUMBS UP👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼?? THIS IS WHY I STARTED FILMMAKING A YEAR AGO AND WHY I'LL CONTINUE!!!!!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
man how was this color graded? colors are on point
nice execution
That plot twist!!
Wow. Good Movie
💕💕💕💕
hey bud, can I use the nikon 24-70 lens on this body camera?
SO MUCH AMAZING FRAMING GAHHH
Nice!
May I ask what Mic you used for audio?
This is awesome. What kind of stabilizer did you use?
The movie is really great. congrats!
How were you able to get this anamorphic aspect ratio? Was it because of the Viltrox adapter?
If I had seen this on TV I never would have thought about the camera it looks standard to me
Thank you for giving credit to Joseph Kosinski’s “The Dig”. For those who didn’t read the description, this is pretty much a shot for shot replicate of that short film. That said, excellent job recreating it! I’d love to see some original work.
looks better too haha
@@HeliosAnimation ya a 100 times better
Sir can I ask How you reduced the file size ?
I am not able to understand this
that waas a piece of true art!great job doing hollywoow style film with just a tiny cam.what stabiliser did u use?
wow
Nice work
Very nice filming!
Thank you 😁
What aspect ratio is this? And question do you make the aspect ratio on the bmpcc4k camera setting or is it done in post production?
21:9 aspect ratio, but you can't set this in camera, the only thing you can do is set safe maker zone to 21:9 in camera so you can visualize how footage will look like in 21:9 in post production
@@BalconyDigital thank you
how did you get tha shallow depth of field at 5:10 ? did you just used a wide aperture or there's some post production effect ?
we use Canon EF 135mm f/2L USM, that's why the image got deep depth of field.
Good shit
How did you get these incredible aerial shots? Was there another unit?
Very good
nice work
Cool! Kinda hard to stay engaged at the beginning, but it all came together.
thank you, sure the first act quite slow, but that's our intention to make sure a big conclusion at ending has impact :D
which song is this by Pilotpriest
How on Earth did you get that Steadicam when you filmed the bridge? That was wonderful
It's not entirely shot on BMPCC4K They used drones too.
Amazing DP
thanks :D
Balcony could you walk me through the color grading? it’s really good!
Was this colored using film convert, luts or by hand?
i graded footage by using lut with Filmconvert Pro. for specific, i set braw setting first then use lut which is NATURAL Rec709 LUT from BUTTERY LUTs, then finally use Filmconvert Pro for final grade
I wasn't sure about watching all the way through and then I got so sucked in this film! This film was executed with such attention to detail. Of course with any indie film, there are gonna be problem areas but this may have been one of the best I have seen on youtube!
Very well done! How did you get the police participation on that clip with the police car?
The nighttime city shots are so beautiful. Is it Hong Kong?
Quite good remake ! The P4K is not a Sony Venice and slightly different framing, lighting and coloring. Your DP is good !
thank you, we just did the best as we can :D
Would you recommend the viltrox adapter? It’s super attractive for the price compared to the Metabones.
yeah, it's just good, we have a good time with it
@@BalconyDigital Which version of viltrox did you use?? M1 or M2??
music used?
This is the first short film ive seen that doesn't look amateur. I'm assuming it has to do with experience, the amazing lighting and framing, and the fact that you guys arent using a dslr.
The first scene in the bathroom looks like its straight out of a movie, the hand washing for some reason reminded me of punisher and john wick.
Great film! Very good job! What was your audio & microphone setup?
thanks, we just use shotgun microphone for recording audio: BOYA BY-PVM1000
is it stabilized here ? well done
Really good but why did you copy Sony Venice's "The Dig" short film?
Hi. Nice story without dialogue. Well done.
Question (1): I read that you filmed this at 23.98fps. Was it at 4k, UHD, or HD?
Question (2): When I have shot at any frame rate lower than 50fps, I get this juddering distortion of the moving object in the frame. I mean a human being walking across a room, not a fast object. I shoot with a tripod so its not a shake problem. Nothing else in the frame judders except the moving person, and when the person is still, everything is fine. Some people say it has to do with the attached display TV screen refresh rate being 60Hz which matches with the 50 or 60fps I shot at, but is far off from the say 24fps which I prefer to shoot at. The judder is there even when I import the footage into DaVinci Resolve of Adobe Premiere and the correction facilities such as Stabilization in DaVinci and Rolling Shutter correction in Adobe don't make any difference.
Did you encounter this problem? And how did you over come it? You can reply to me also at chuba@ShamLoveSeries.com. Just got this BMPcc 4k a few weeks ago I am stranded by this problem. Please help :)
Yeah I also interesting about question 1 bcs I gonna buy the same camera soon
what lens is this ? its cool man
Sigma 18-35, Canon 135, Canon 24-70
Wasn't this the short film called "THE DIG" that was made for the Sony Venice camera promo?
Asia vision XD
yes, and we decide to remake it to see how good Blackmagic camera is
@@BalconyDigital I liked it. You all did good. But I think you should put the original in the description.
Ender Boy the description we already wrote lol
@@BalconyDigital Oh! I'm sorry! Didn't notice.
0:37 - 6:20 wait did he give her a domestic water ?? Well he deserve this plot
I can’t imagine how good this would look on the 6k
Short Film " THE DIG " CineAlta VENICE.
No actor credits? .
Well done :) what was your codec?
BRAW all the time :)
@@BalconyDigital How much fps, shutter, iso, wb, and tint did you use on the camera ❓🤔🤔
tasty
What frame rate was this shot in?
DJ EyeOhYes this film was shot at 23.97fps
@@BalconyDigital looks really nice. I just order a BM pocket 6k. I want to do some cinematic shots as well. Great work!
2:40 you not wearing seat belt
Can we make a movie together being serious I have a black magic pocket and a script and I need help filming it
Never trust the 😼
Fantastic work. But not much impressed with the camera. Even my d3300 could have pulled this through with your kind of talent.
Honestly, color grading was bad, stablizing in post was bad, and bad sound design. Not a single shot is color graded the same. I could find warp stabilizer all over the place. Sounds didn't even match the scene, for example using a v8 engine sound for a Hyundai!!!!
