I was testing my new anamorphic adapter 1.33x for my Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4k. This adapter has LOMO lens glasses and this give very cool lens flare and light leak. I was looking at Sirui anamorphic lens, but I didn't buy it. Because I have many Zeiss lenses. Anamorphic adapter would give me the opportunity to work with any focal distance.

I think this is more of an advanced course in lighting than the lenses themselves. Looks like he can make any lens look great because he understands the physics of light and shadows. If you ever make a course on cinematic lighting, I will be one of the first to sign up. Thanks to you, I am beginning to study lighting as much as I study other aspects of film making. Great job, nice break from all the other stuff people put on about cameras!

Truthfully though, anything with great lighting and art direction and set design will look great on any camera.

This lens adapter is only sharp at f4! Everyone using it doesn't, for some reason, know this and as a result most 1.33 anamorphic adapter vids are all soft/out f focus. Try with a slower f stop (f4,f5)

Amazing cinimatic image! I use BMPCC 4K with Vazen 40mm, however the footages are always flat, I think there's problem with my light settings. Can you share the grade tutorial of this shorts? So expecting~~

Hey hey Andbery the visuals are absolutely stunning and you are a master in your craft! The anamorphic adapter looks so good that I'm thinking of picking one up. A couple of questions
1. So I attach this adapter in front of my taking lens is this correct? Also how do i attached this infront of my taking lens?
2. Is this a single focus solution? So I don't need a rangefinder?
3. Is there a front filter thread in front of the adapter for filters?

1. You have to attach adapter after lens.
2. This adapter has infinity. You have to set this and focus only on the lens will be sufficient.

This is more of a good example of lighting than it is for a bad vignetting anamorphic adapter. 😂 Plus you can buy fairly cheap anamorphic lenses these days. Vazen and Sirui (Sirui being the cheapest option only has two lenses so far however, but they are surprisingly good!). Why not have just shot with that?
Love the pocket 4K camera. It’s the only 4K camera I run around with these days. I’ll bring in the Alexa when needed - which is still no1. But it’s bulky. I’ve got a classic still.
But the pocket 4K rocks. Great little camera. Paid 849$ for one which had DR included - which is an amazing application. Incredible. Paid more than that for old DV 3CCD cameras in my day.
I’ll upgrade from that when the color science gets as good as Alexa and the Amira. I shoot with a couple anamorphic lenses on that and it looks fantastic when lit well and color graded.

Beautiful footage! It’s amazing what you can do with cheap anamorphic adapters in the right hands. I get stunning results with my Sun Anamorphic and my Singer16D + BMPCC4K. Very inspiring video!

This is the nicest BMCC footage I've seen. Gorgeous. My only beef is the skinny shutter on the shot with dude in the chair gave it an iphone kinda feel but otherwise bravo.

Yep I did. I didn't like this lens. Yes... it is very cheap but, it has very awful contrast and saturation.

Unfortunately, a lack of sharpness with that adapter will keep it from many professional shoots. Surprised no one is commenting on this problem. Still great for what it is.
I said the same thing I have a Schneider cinelux es and the shots I can get are tack sharp something is off maybe they’re trying to shoot too wide open all the time idk
Well when you have two arri 1200s at your disposal, you can pretty much light like that. This can't be done with budget lighting, or else it would be.
One Arri 1200 cost about $60 rent. Not worth buying it.

Another great Video bro! One thing I would note is that there is a lot of lens or spherical aberration going on which makes the footage look less professional for example at 1:11

Well done as usual. What do you think of using led lights in the beginning stage?
If this LED will powerful enough. Usually LEDs do not have the same power as halogen or HMI lights and their strength is enough for the middle shot.
@@ANDBERY Good to know. It's kind of confusing because I'm seeing people say great things about arri, aputure, and kinoflo. Do you have experience with the other brands? I'm starting off with a panasonic G85 but will eventually upgrade to the Blackmagic 4k.
