19:24 As a medic main, I love seeing newer Medic players that genuinely seem to be having fun learning the class (assuming he is new.) I hope that lad keeps that positive attitude and doesnt turn into a curmudgeon like a lot of us tend to do 😅
I love Uncle Dane his content makes my balls unshrivel into perfectly spherical orbs of mathematical perfection just like the Engineer intended (seriously no bumps or abnormalities)
An hour ago I was explaining the old saying about physicists who model everything as perfect spheres in frictionless vacuums, and then I read this comment
Didn't realize till 2 months after, but turns out from 13:25 thru 18:34 (mossrock blu), I was playing against you as the enemy battle engineer (My username was Apollo but the A had was a special character). It brought me great joy to learn I was in a match with you, even if it was mostly meaningless as I was just another enemy player. either way I remember that game fondly, thanks for the match Uncle Danekle.
I appreciate the pacing and raw gameplay just in this vid, im glad you are not limiting your main channel to thoroughly fleshed out content, its fun to see this as well. This gets a goop from me dane. 😏
Sweet. With Mr. Paladin coming back I remembered how much fun live commentary is. Happy to see both the Spy channel and Engie channel doing it again :)
In response to the description, yes more videos like this! I love your subtle editing for humor, and I really dig how this feels like the demonstration segment from a weapon video, but as a 30-minute video (like the Eureka Effect Ninjaneer video, except if the whole video was you trolling your friends with no voiceover). This works perfect for some sweet, sweet Uncle Dane content in between your more structured infotainment videos. Love it!
Overall. Amazing video! I know you noticed that TF2 content is more or less gimmick based content these days and making this video of you just doing well in matches is really a nice breathe of (mostly) fresh air. Thank you, Mista Uncle Man!
I love these types of casual commentaries. Highly edited video essays are wonderful of course, but just watching you play the game all the way through and talk about what your doing is great for getting into the mindset of the class you're playing. It reminds me the types of things i should be thinking about at different points of the game when I play engie. Its also just fun to listen to.
It's really nice to see somewhat raw gameplay like this, it really helps me get an idea what a game of higher level engie looks like in practice. For example, seeing you switch between loadouts in games like this helps me understand a lot better what works when
Really enjoyed this one! Something about these simple, chill commentaries brings me a lot of joy. (Also loved the edit at 31:42 , reminds me of a segment from your Machete Mechanic video)
Uncle Dane has always been funny. I've recently been re-watching some of his older stuff that I watched 5, 6, 7 years ago (when it came out). He was funny then. I just think Uncle Dane has seriously grown into his funniness. I like HIS humour. He makes good jokes, and his editing is always great. I actually think he has a really great voice (the sound of it), and he's learned how to use it to be even funnier than he ever was. This is my take as an expert on funniness, so it means a lot. This longer form content (this video and the Q&A one he put out a week or two ago) is GREAT. I want to listen to UNCLE DANE. Him SPECIFCALLY. I don't think I'm the only one who feels this way, although I don't see a lot of other people articulate this online. Of all the TF2 UA-camrs, I think Uncle Dane is the funniest by far, and there are a lot of VERY FUNNY TF2 UA-camrs. My point is, I think Uncle Dane has become a really great/special entertainer. And I think he could find a lot of success as an entertainer outside of TF2 if he wanted. I know this channel will always be for TF2 content, but Uncle Dane is a rare example of a REALLY FUNNY, LIKEABLE GUY on the internet that I'd make a point of following, wherever he goes.
I enjoy these longer videos of just gameplay. Learning the theory of how to get better at a class is great and all, but to me, I'd rather just watch someone play, see what they do in response to situations. In a scripted video, everything is within your control. If you're just playing casual, you have to be ready to adapt to new situations that don't happen in controlled environments.
14:17 When Uncle Dane swears it's like a dad who was working on his car's engine just figured out what the problem is and that he doesn't have what's needed to fix it or that it's worse than what he was thinking.
This kind of commentary is always appreciated from you, I love your big deep dives and beautiful editing. However there is always something to be said for raw gameplay. It lends very nicely to your humor so please keep it up
it's crazy how uncle dane seems like such a nice guy but also allows (maybe even encourages) some of the most toxic admin abuse i've ever seen -- i'm not even banned from uncletopia, yet you can see how they treat people trying to appeal bans + the toxicity of the mods
i loved the kissing scene it was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo👍 (i coulsnt find the fir emoji sorry slug dont hate me😞)
Uncle dane is what made me really like engineer and learn how to play him properly. I also didn't expect to see some normal gameplay video made by him, and watching it makes me realize that my gameplay is very similar to his (except for the aim, sometimes I am so bad with shotguns). Thank you uncle dane
the strat of putting your sentry facing the opposite way has been getting me some pretty crazy kills tbh, they always overextend because they think its safe
It’s surprisingly nice just seeing uncle dane play tf2 casually without any gimmicks, just raw commentary and standard editing is enough to make it very enjoyable.
Please make more of these. Honestly not every video from you has to be a well-researched masterpiece, I just like watching your stuff and having more frequent uploads like this would be really cool.
This was a great video! Just actually playing some casual ass TF2. It's really entertaining seeing someone who is very good at a class play casually. Like, you're not sweating and trying super hard to win, but you can still see that you're casually still very good at your class. It's super engaging and I'd love to see more Dane!

We don't often get to see Uncle Dane just rocking regular gameplay, and it was a nice change of pace. I'd love to see more videos like this! We see the master at his craft, and get to see his tips and tricks in action. It was also very validating to see the great Unc not know where to put his buildings. The eternal struggle of not playing on Badwater or Upward.
Recently rewatched the certifiable banger 'Salt Factory' and am now blessed with a new live commentary that is the polar opposite of that? Must be my birthday. It isn't, but it must be.
Putting the sentry on a wall is such a genius play. The enemy will go to that spot, not immediately get shot, and think "okay this spot is safe" then suddenly get blasted cuz the sentry turned around!
watching dane systematically dismantle an enemy sentry nest as engineer is terrifying, like i thought he was avoiding it but he was just setting up its downfall
