    The 1st gold found in colorado was in a stream in Arvada in the area of Sheridan and 58th.
    Platte river was where all panned in the great depression.
    Pan for diamonds as well.
    If you look at usgs map of vents you will find us in that area.
    (There have been 2 major diamond mines in Colorado).
    By the by, pyrite has about a 15% gold content in some areas here.
    Do not discount fools gold.
    The real fun comes when you triangulate where the gold originated on a mountain.
    Rock mining is much more profitable.

    It's absolutely fun! Finding a few flakes out on the river 100time better than getting a picker in a paydirt bag!

    Thanks for another fun video. . Nice little bit of gold as well. You can make a couple of very easy to build pipe crushers for some of your smaller rocks that are 2" and under. 3" with larger pipe. You break the large rocks into smaller pieces in the larger pipes and then powder the smaller pieces in a 1 1/2" model. It only takes about 2 - 3 minutes to crush them to powder. Small enough to throw into the pack as well. Crush on the spot. I can give you specifics if you'd like.

    • @Klesh
      @Klesh  7 років тому

      Yeah I remember seeing something about those pipe crushers. Ill have to find a welder or fabricator to cobble something together for me. Thanks for watching and the suggestions!

    That bucket gets heavy quick too so you don't necessarily want to fill it up all the way before you sluice. Last time I went out I tore a muscle in my shoulder lol. We do have some beautiful quartz boulders everywhere up here in Alaska. The schist is so brittle up here the quartz ends up outlasting it in nature. You end up with quartz boulders scattered everywhere.

      Alaska would be a fun time to do some panning and stuff. THanks for watching!

    Hi from Arvada!
    At 17:31 you mention "tunnel one". Are you referring to that series of railroad tunnels that head off up there on the way towards Clear Creek? Thanks!

    it's amazing what you go through for a little bit of gold, but as you said it gets you away from the city (and all your viewers with you). It's so darn interesting I watch every bit of it. I never skip over anything. I can see why you have a bad back. Mine is from sitting and watching videos. Also I have been tied to a 9 - 5 + job. Keep them coming, I love your vids and live streams too.

      Hey Shirl thanks for watching! I'm glad you enjoy my videos! My bad back is actually from a few bad parachute landings in the Army. I landed so hard a few times I woke up not knowing what happened, except that my back hurt really..really bad. Never been the same since! Fun stuff! LOL

    The Google Earth VR is a really cool, dare I say pioneering addition to your videos. Since you prospect in or near a major metropolitan area in some fairly well known areas it isn't an issue showing your location, but most prospectors who hunt public lands are much more secretive about locations where they find success lest they arrive at their spot to find a host of people digging it up. Sharing is caring but when it comes to gold, sharing is daring.

    • @Klesh
      @Klesh  7 років тому

      I agree, but If I find a good spot...I'll go ahead and show the exact location anyway. I can only do this stuff once in a great while due to my back injuries...my doctor doesn't even want me bending down. But they can't stop me.

    Enjoyed this video. in the 70's I used to sluice and pan right near the middle of Denver. I would be the only one and people thought I was nuts. But I got gold and had a lot of fun. I was more near Lakeside Amusement park... that side of Denver. You need golashes or some sort of waders as the water is not the purest.

    Very nice pull for out there!
    Question...
    I’m running basically the same sluice and know the aggravation... How many classified buckets do you recommend to run, before you clean out?
    I’m going to be trying out Ralston Creek soon, and have been out many many times, but I really don’t have a clue when it’s best, to clean out the box

    • @Klesh
      @Klesh  3 роки тому +1

      Clean your sluice when the black sands and heavies build up too much. That's the best answer I can give

    • @jonathanbrewer3051
      @jonathanbrewer3051 3 роки тому

      @@Klesh I appreciate that. That’s kind of what I thought, but just nervous about losing anything.
      Thanks for answering.
      Your videos have been very helpful.
      I really need to get me a small clean up sluice, but since I’ve been drying my cons, it’s been much easier once I get the magnetite out.

    Everyone sais don't use neodymium magnet but, honestly, It's the only way to effectively remove the black sands because rare earth works on magnetite and hematite. You just save it all for later and move on with the process. I have seen small flakes of gold with magnetite attached up here in Alaska so you just gotta be careful.

      Right on, glad you're enjoying them. I would already have built a miller table but I don't have the space for one, at least not yet. Thanks again for watching

    Denver panning $2.89 in gold.
    Medal detecting about the same

    • @Klesh
      @Klesh  6 років тому

      Yeah for sure. Never really thought about it that way, maybe I should do a 1 hour metal detecting vs 1 hour of gold panning. Then compare the incomes. Thanks for the idea (i'll give ya credit when I do the video!!)
