  • I bought a "contents" of a room at an auction. Similar to storage wars but we were allowed a preview. There was so much stuff I didn't even know these 25 vintage knives were in there. Its possible that they alone are worth the price I paid. There are knives over 100 years old. One possibly issued to a soldier in WWI by the red cross!

This group of knives were in an auction lot I purchased. I sold 1 watch from the lot to get my money back. This group of knives grossed over $1000. Sure I cleaned them up cause I loved it but it likely doubled their value.

Nice I found my grand fathers old case trapper from before he died. Wanted to know how to get in all around the nooks and crannies to clean it. Thanks brother

I appreciate the generous positive comments. I was a long video. I really enjoyed the knives. I sold most but have a great little collection I plan to display in a shadow box.

A viewer removed his comment condemning my methods. He suggested "Case Paste" from case knives and not using wd40. I stand by my method. Obviously for your own knife use the mildest method possible. Having a smooth surface to me is most important, not shiny necessisarily. I've done a lot of soul searching on this. I have some old stanley planes as well. I believe #1 is function. I also believe more people like it to be nice looking - not necessarily new. Sorry for those that like a heavy "patina". I prefer a vintage pocket knife that has patina and is sharpe. My current carry knife is an old imperial with a broken point. Sharp and not a big deal to lose. I'm not really a collector but having an unused, new in the Box vintage knife is a turn off. A pocket knife needs to live. Clean finger nails, cut twine, point a stick.

WD40 is fine for a cleanup. My method is first a good cleaning with Simple Green, then a soak in WD40. Start working the blades/joints and then sand the blades as needed. Polish the blades and bolsters etc. Then I give it a good oiling with Rem Oil and last is to sharpen the blades. Ebay is loaded with inexpensive old knives that can easily be brought back to life. It's fun and rewarding.

I purchased these to resell. I have a couple I really like but sold most. Almost $1000 for them.

Hello! I’m looking for a Camillus 66 premium stock for my collection.. i’m from Italy! do you have that one?

These knives are all sold. I do live about 4 hours from Camillus, NY so I'm sure there's one out there. Auctions are very active right now for antique folding knives but I'll keep you in mind if I find one. Also Little Valley NY was a hotbed for knives with the Cattraugus Cutlery, Case, and I believe KaBar and Cutco started there before moving to their current locations. Thank You for your interest!
