Hey everyone! We're excited to share our latest video with you, the second in our series of three dedicated to the legendary Jason Becker. For those who aren't familiar, Cacophony was an American heavy metal band formed in 1986 by guitarists Marty Friedman and Jason Becker. This video is a heartfelt tribute to Jason Becker and his incredible legacy. Despite being diagnosed with ALS, Jason's passion for music continues to inspire us all. We want to give a special shoutout to Kiesel for sending us the amazing JB "Numbers" guitar for this video. It truly made this project even more special. In the video description, you'll find links to learn more about Jason, his inspiring story, his music, and how you can directly support him with his medical funds. Remember, all proceeds from the sales of the JB Numbers guitar go directly towards his charity. So grab your guitar, get ready to learn some killer riffs, and practice those chops! This video is not just about enjoying the music, but also about embracing the opportunity to learn and grow as musicians. Thank you all for your support! Keep rocking and keep practicing! 🤘
I don't think ive ever seen a harder song to perform in my life, and the two of you did it perfectly. Im speechless at how amazing that was. Its also cool to see the difference of your playing styles side by side. Great job to you both
I love this tune so much! I think it's really special. Thanks for bringing this to us through your talent and effort. Awesome! Thanks Jason for the music and inspiration
I N C R E D I B L E!!!!!! You are really one true artist. Both Becker and Friedman should be proud of you master. Abrazo Mexicano!!!! 🇲🇽🤘🏻🇲🇽🤘🏻🇲🇽🤘🏻🇲🇽🤘🏻🇲🇽
Very awesome that you chose to do a Jason Becker song cover! Ive been really getting into him and Friedmans work in Cacophony between Concerto & The Ninja are my favorites but Perpetual Burn is a great album aswell!
The madman even has a Jason Becker "numbers" Kiesel. Jason Beckers story is just so incredibly sad, he went from being in the absolute top of mechanical guitarists making incredible albums (especially as Cacophony in combination with Marty Friedman who continued afterwards to play a pivotal role in Megadeth), to being diagnosed with ALS and not even able to pick up the guitar he still has such passion for. I can really recommend anyone to give Triumphant Hearts a listen, it's composed by Becker but played by all kinds of shred legends. Cacophony's "Speed Metal Symphony" is although a bit of a bad mix, truly outstanding.
Yeah a lot of the albums under shrapnel were badly mixed. Also a little fun fact.. speed metal symphony was actually supposed to be marty friedmans first solo album. He met jason after already writing 90% of the album and then decided to invite jason to join him and formed cacophony and just made little spaces for jason to play on each song. Heard it on martys podcast he was doing at one point haha
They opened up with this song but improvised that that was definitely a burner plus I was there when Jeff Loomis told Marty Friedman that Megadeth is looking for a guitarist
I know it's not in the same league but watching this made me think of Janis Joplin and the twin guitars playing 'Summertime' live, a few different versions caught live but it's a good lesson for scales. Would love to see you tab it. Regards!
Always loved those number inlays on Jason Becker's guitar. I'm actually surprised CC DeVille didn't originate that as that would be something totally CC. Speaking of 80s guitar albums, are you familiar with Blues Saraceno? He actually played in Poison (not a CC troll line here, this is just irony, first paragraph is totally a CC troll line), he replaced Richie Kotzen. His first album, "Never Look Back" is so 80s awesome, it's my favorite 80s instrumental albums. Give it a listen, I'm sure it's here on youtube.
Man Blues Saraceno was always one of those guys that was mentioned among Ritchie and Dweezil Zappa in guitar mags so I KNEW he was awesome but for some strange reason I just never dived into him! What’s some essential listening?
@@jasonsheppard7428 I think "Never Look Back" is Saraceno's best album, but he has a couple others, "Plaid" and "Hairpick" which are definitely worth checking out. I would bet they're all here on youtube. He also had a signature plaid Yamaha guitar which I absolutely loved and always looked for on the secondary market. Never found one at a decent price, though. He moved on to Samick afterwards and had some plaid models which were similar in body shape to the Ernie Ball Axis/EVH guitars. Cool, but that Yamaha was awesome. Speaking of Dweezil Zappa, one of my all time favorite guitar solos is his solo on "Let's Talk About It" from his album "Havin' a Bad Day". Moon Unit is on vocals. The rhythm guitar is awesome, too. You should check that out if you're not familiar with it.
Thanks! I will certainly check all of that out! I was flying Air Canada one time and there was a full Dweezil Zappa album in the little touch screen entertainment thing. I wish I could remember but there was some fierce guitar playing on it
Everything in life fades, but my friends the melody and music lives on forever AND ALWAYS...Great video. Great guitarist let's find a cure. I'm going to string skip that, I ain't sweeping that even if you held a gun to my head (haha) Great sweeps Bro
Just a way of dividing the song up in sections to make it a little easier to digest. Usually we could go verse, chorus, bridge. But this song isn’t as straight forward. We hope it helps!
@@Mr.Tabs.Guitar.Lessons I have the same Ibanez. It was my first real guitar. Haven't played it in years since it needs a ton of work done to it. Really should get it looked at.

What a beautiful song, and you absolutely nailed it. So happy to see someone honoring Jason Becker
I think speed metal symphony would be very welcome. Especially since there aren't any good tabs or lessons online
The final Becker video should be either Symphony or Altitiudes imo.

@@BENSHAMIXoh no, this is between Patrick and Jason. Jason has the number guitar and Patrick has the purple one
Incredible! You are in the top echelon of the many guitarists I've seen in my 58 years.
The fact he can do Part G gives me nightmares. I am terrified of this man and his guitar skills
Complete insanity. You nailed it. Tone and all. Great job.
You're raising the bar with your work - no question.
