Not sure where to start about this one. Blows my mind how Jason Becker wrote this when he was so young. The atonal section... that took a while to learn. With no performance videos to go by, I chose the fingering that seemed most logical to me. There is so much personality shining through in every note - even the ones that are flying by at a million miles an hour. I tried to capture it as much as I could! The arpeggio section is a monster. So fast. The Kiesel is an awesome guitar which certainly helped capture the Becker vibe. Check them out at www.KieselGuitars.com
Ok guys... I know you said it would be a series of three videos dedicated to Jason Becker, but we'd LOVE to see more of his music on this channel! Congratulations on the fantastic work once again.
Sweep picking is not that hard once you practice it for a while. Just start slow and focus on being precise and clean instead of speed, speed will come with practice
I totally agree that sweep is not that hard, but at that speed, with that much stretching, for that long time, then I believe that sweep gets as hard as hell 😭
I receive tremendous support from the fantastic Mr. Tabs team. In this performance, we have Jason Sheppard taking the lead, while Tom, Justin, Matt, and Ryan contribute their talents in the background. A special thanks also goes to our patrons; without their support, none of this would be possible!
First time hearing this… just wow. It’s super neoclassical. I can see some of the stuff Randy does in here. Definitely a lot of nice classical phrasing and tons of technique.
Absolute instant like, good jason tabs are so hard to come by and this song is just a masterpiece, i applaud you for the obviously massive amount of work you had to do for this. Stellar!!!! 🤘🤘
When I was a kid I thought that if anyone could play like that you would instantly become a rock star. Now you see young people, even children, all over the world doing amazing things with the guitar and it's not a big deal.
Jason really did have the best use of the whammy bar among his peers. Frequent, but always tasteful or used in an interesting way. Michael Romeo is another I'd consider a master at using it wisely.
This whole album is a masterpiece. I would love to see Dwellar in the Cellar next His production work is also phenomenal, Triumphant Hearts also has some nasty licks i’d love to see Mr. Tabs playing.
Wow, that was fantastic! Great job! I don't know if my old fingers could play at that speed anymore. Those sweep sections look painful. I really enjoyed that, thanks!
man, i just realized that the genius that wrote a pick sweeping and made me question about my guitar skills is a man that was punished by life, thats right boy, Life can be cruel
The perfect guitar for a teacher or instructor to have. Easy to watch and see where he's fretting. I get it now. I always thought they looked like toys. But this is a good use case.
Yes the colour coding is really useful. The octaves are the same colour so switching positions is made easier. Another cool thing about this guitar that I wasn’t able to feature in the video is the side dots are glow in the dark! Really useful on a dark stage
Love Beckers playing only criticism I have is when he gets into the long sweep patterns over so many bars it starts to sound a little mushy other than that Becker is a guitar god and you did fantastic on this masterpiece
You should play “Take Your Fingers From My Hair” by Dream Theater if you get a chance. That’s a dream song of mine to learn but I can’t find a tab anywhere. It would be incredible to see my favorite and most used source of tabs play this one. You have inspired me to get better and learn songs that I would never think I would be able to play. Thank you so much for all you do for the guitar-playing community!
What amp/patch/etc are you using to get that tone. It is SPOT on. Could close my eyes and it would be hard to tell it wasn't Jason. Thank you for linking his page in the youtube decript, ive been a donor directly for awhile now. He is an inspiration to us all.
Thanks for the kind words! All tones and effects are created using software called Amplitube Max. This software contains many virtual amps and pedals. The plug-ins are available to all my Patreon subscribers so you that if you have Amplitube Max yourself, you can get exactly the same tone as me at home. I also offer screenshots of the virtual amps and pedals so that if you don’t have Amplitube you can attempt to replicate the tone using whatever equipment you have available. Aquí concuerdo el puente khaler es un lío mejor floyd original.
them guitars are so sweet, i got one myself!
Wow awesome work.. more AC/DC?
Professional composers could help him.
Could you do "The Ninja" by Cacophony? That is one of my favorite Jason Becker works. Him and Marty Friedman were the ultimate guitar tag team.
Ok, now you're just showing off. You're supposed to encourage people to play their guitars, not break them. WOW🔥🔥🔥🔥👏👏👏👏
Hahahahahaha
I watched this video, then sat and aggressively played the open G chord,
full distortion....over and over and over.
I think I've peaked.
Honesty tho like who even knows this song and wants to learn it
Like wtf was that sweep picking
This is no where near as hard as previous covers he's done lol
Ok guys... I know you said it would be a series of three videos dedicated to Jason Becker, but we'd LOVE to see more of his music on this channel! Congratulations on the fantastic work once again.
If not more, then maybe just one bonus video of Altitudes tabs. That’d be a great one to do
Yessss!!!!! Jason and marty!!!!
One last breath
Master Jedi Jason Becker 🤕 May the fretboard be with you. ❤
Master shredi
Jesus?
This shows you can play ANYTHING. Jason Becker was such a prodigy. He had mad talent and musicality.
Up to 3:07 seemed surprisingly playable and then the arpeggios from hell arrived :)

@@kietchu2761 bro you are an entry level sweeping..sweep needs consistency and clarity, each note should sound as picked
@@laryxislust6664 I dont understand. I said exactly what you said
Haven’t tried it but I feel like 1:41 would be harder than the sweeps
How do you constantly put out crazy performances with the tabs like this on the regular? Do you even sleep, patrick? It's just incredible!!
I receive tremendous support from the fantastic Mr. Tabs team. In this performance, we have Jason Sheppard taking the lead, while Tom, Justin, Matt, and Ryan contribute their talents in the background. A special thanks also goes to our patrons; without their support, none of this would be possible!
How this guy made all this music as a teenager is completly mind blowing.
Finally Opus Pocus! Favorite Becker song ever, thank you!
Jason Becker was a monster player
Man you are awesome you sound just like him, Jason would be proud
Unbelievable skills!! I'm in awe for words, Hail to a king of the axe!!
I can play the power chord sections.
Show off.
@@ericjenkins2737 definitely my fingers’ favourite section.
😂😂😂😂😂
Sweeps so clean they literally cleaned my floor.
The ultimate sweep picking exercise! Awesome!
It’s a real test of endurance, to say the least! But yes, the sweeping part is 100% an awesome and musical sweep arpeggio exercise!
One of my all time favorite instrumentals. Crazy phrasing and the amount of technique you need to play it is off the charts. Excellent! 🤘🏻🤘🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Phrasing is so great in this one. Really any Jason Becker song is littered with beautiful phrasing.
First time hearing this… just wow. It’s super neoclassical. I can see some of the stuff Randy does in here. Definitely a lot of nice classical phrasing and tons of technique.

PLEASE DO ALTITUDES‼️‼️‼️‼️
Ok, this is impossible. That arpeggios are insane!

Always adored Jason’s whammy bar vibrato.
Michael Lee Firkins has a unique style as well.

Insane. Love your work, the wait was worth it!
And to know that Jason was very young when he wrote this. Amazing. Great work man. This is a masterpiece. Cheers
Dude you have such amazing range to be able to cover Becker as well as everything else you do.
Awesome song, awesome playing. Reminds me of the NES ninja gaiden music.
NES music had a massive effect on me
Woooooh! Another Jason Becker Banger! Keep them coming please.🙏🏼🎸🔥
Incredible job dude.Awesome.I love the main melody.

I dont like long sweep patterns like that either but Jason was the best at it. For me sweeping sounds better when used sparingly.
