At this moment, among any rock band yes. they are progressive rock i assume. glad more femal fans find them. please note this is a great way for female enpowerment. you saw what i mean. they are more powerful, fast, aggressive than any bands
@@YS-co6pz I wouldn't classify Band Maid as "progressive rock" in the traditional sense of the term, but their music IS very progressive. If that makes sense ...
The best way to describe Band Maid (Imo) is they are the real deal, the complete package. They write nearly all of their own music: lead guitarist Kanami writes the music, harmony guitarisr/having vocalist Miku writes the lyrics. Misa, the bassist had a side range of techniques in her repertoire including using a pick, finger style, and slapping. Her choices are based on the style of song, and the tone of her bass. Akane, the drummer, is the kind of drummer you can use to calibrate an atomic clock. Jimmy Page heard her in Tokyo in 2016 and was so impressed that he went backstage after the show to meet her. And Saiki's voice is simply amazing, she has three registers I've heard, and diaphragm support the separate her from many singers. Live take to check out (all from their official channel): Domination, Play, Don't You Tell ME, Freedom and Onset.
Since you're a bassist you'll obviously fall in love with MISA but you'll also quickly fall in love with Akane on the drums. Those two are such a killer rhythm section. Chops for days and ideas for miles.
Welcome princess! Misa is known for effortlessly switching between picking and slapping while playing her base. You can clearly see it in their live performance of 'Onset' instrumental video on their official channel. Enjoy. There is a lot.
Some random infos: 1/ Misa doesn't only plays with a pick - it depends on the song, she's great at slapping too and plays fingerstyle on some others song (ballads usually) 2/ they're a live band - and their songs are usually even better live 3/ their musical range is wide - they consider themselves a "hard rocking band" rather than a hard rock band 4/ they compose and write their music since they started recording full albums (4) 5/ they're not only amazing musicians - they're extremely entertaining and funny too 6/it's always such a pleasure to watch musicians discovering them, great reaction!
Welcome aboard, Signe. You are embarking on (along with many others - over 95 million YT views!) an awesome hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid:
BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of all rockers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Consistency (over a 100 songs with their latest album, “Unseen World”, Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destine for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off the rails spectacular. Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 50 favorites! "Thrill" (2014) is a great place to start: ua-cam.com/video/Uds7g3M-4lQ/v-deo.html Their later songs drive even more - Manners, Different, Rinne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Glory, Choose Me, I Can’t Live Without You, and on and on. But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts! And many are represented with over 30 well produced music videos. ua-cam.com/users/BANDMAID Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE concerts such as Tokyo's LINE CUBE SHIBUYA on February 14th (“Domination” ua-cam.com/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/v-deo.html), ZEPP 2018, Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 and some of the better 2019 tour Fan vids. Here’s three of what it’s like to see Band-Maid LIVE at super intimate venues. The first taken by Vladimir Chupin in Hamburg: ua-cam.com/video/__1th7ctgMo/v-deo.html, the second taken by JT Dayo in LA: ua-cam.com/video/4uIYBkAybCI/v-deo.html, and third, JOSER8845 in LA: ua-cam.com/video/usWZvlGGDSs/v-deo.html. If you like Band-Maid, make sure to support them by purchasing some concert tickets, CD, DVD/BD & Merch, etc. bandmaid.tokyo Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009 Band-Maid members are: (Ages are best est.). Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements, melodies and High Priestess mediator between the Gods (Band Members) and the masters and princesses (Fans). At 26 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Leader) as Miku calls her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away the persona. Her charisma, performance and voice focus the experience. Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 29 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kurrupo! No, no, no… KURRUPO!! Kanami Tono (Ka-Naw-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 29 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more! Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 30 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumRilla” is the Party! MISA (Me-Sa) "Assassin" - Bass, 28 years old. A sullen, barefoot, dark spirit driving her 5-string bottom-end to hell and back, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. The Mysterious One literally kills it… every note.. uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA! welcome to the army of Madiacs! Misa the bassist (a.k.a. The Barefoot Assassin Maid) actually revolutionized the bass play: she turned the bass guitar into a starring instrument: she plays a bass lead where it fits; she can switch between picking, slapping/popping, finger picking and even tapping, sometimes within the same song live seamlessly in a blink of an eye. Band-Maid already released 100+ songs (mostly composed/written by themselves) ranking from good ones to the masterpieces. There is not a single stinker/filler in their catalog. So be ready for an incredible journey into the world of Band-Maid rock.
@@tommcfall1274 I didn't say she invented lead bass. I meant she elevated the role of the bass from just an accompaniment to a starring instrument as a lead guitar is. She made it glamorous. Not so many people who know Yes and Who can name their bassists, but everybody knows Steve Howe and Pete Townshend. Misa changed this trend forever.
@@st.g422 you said "revolutionized bass" , I was just pointing out that there were bass monsters long before her who revolutionized the bass but thank god she is a bass goddess. We are just mincing words here. Misa and this entire band are so incredible!!!!!!!
@@tommcfall1274 Of course Misa is not the first ground-breaker bassist. There is a bunch of other great ones, but their names are barely known to mainstream public. I can recall only one glamorous rock star bassist: Flea. The other rock stars like Paul McCartney, Suzi Quatro, Lemmy, Geddy Lee are more famous like front man/woman singers + bass players.
You need to watch them play live, they are even better - Domination, Moratorium, Onset, Play, Real Existence... Band Maid is the best rock band on the planet, with the best rhythm section. As a bassist, you'll quickly learn to appreciate Misa and Akane's skills. Misa often switches between picking, slapping, and finger style in the same song. Kanami is an incredible guitarist, and an even better composer. Miku is the lyricist and rhythm guitar player, only picked up the guitar when the band started. Saiki is incredible, and has been unleashed after some polyp surgery.
Do yourself a favor and peruse their official channel for their live performances. They absolutely shine in that environment! (Btw, Misa slaps on the bass too...)
Misa slaps, strums, picks, and will grasp her pick between middle and index when not picking. She switches between styles frequently. Yes, watch more Band-Maid, all their songs are good. They do mostly hard rock and they do it very well. But watch out for their slow, sad songs, on which the two vocalists really shine. "About Us" and "Page" come to mind. "Daydreaming" is another one.
BAND-MAID - best live rock band out today. They are even better live. Check out live videos from their website - suggest, Real Existence, Play, Domination, Onset, Freedom etc etc etc and MV's Blooming, Dice, Rinne, Different etc etc etc. ANY video you choose will bow you away!!!
Congratulations on discovering Band Maid, best rock band to come along in decades! Don't let the imagery fool you, as they are incredibly talented and versatile. You are in for an incredibly fun ride! 🎶🎸🥁🎸🎶🔥🙂
Welcome to the wonderful world of the talented Hard Rock band, Band-Maid. These group of ladies have captivated fans all over the world with their hard hitting music with very catchy chorus. Their entire discography is full of amazing songs. They write and compose their music/songs. They are also a phenomenal live band. You definitely need to check a few more of their songs. if you end up liking them, I can see you doing an entire series on their songs. "Our rock never dies, ever. Forever!" - Nuff said...long live rock...long live Band-Maid! 🤘🤘🤘.
@@johnnylaroux9517 Lol. Only started that line with "Manners". Thought, it would be fun. But I guess it started becoming synonymous with my comments. Also, sometimes other's beat me to it, so as to not be rude, I have to change it up a bit. Gotta play nice. We are all here to support these wonderful ladies.

I see a lot of people have written a lot about them. I used to work as a session bassist for about 10 year. The first time I heard the bassist, Misa, I was mindblown. I honestly can't think of very many that are at her level playing this kind of music. There are a lot of bassists that would use half of what she does in this song as a solo. She does that without it getting chaotic or show offy. Would love to hear you do a video of this! I'm glad you gave Saiki, the singer, a lot of love. She's sometimes get a bit forgotten because people tend to get so blown away by the musicians. You really should check out their live stuff. I'd recommend 'Domination' as a good start!
Greeting from Japan! I’m very glad you getting like BAND-MAID. Your analysis of musical structure is quite amazing. This is the very first time to watch on a reaction channel with such a deep analysis! Please try more BAND-MAID songs. There are bunch of good songs and live version as well. Maybe “Domination (live)” or “Onset” next...
Thanks for reacting, formed in 2013 by Rhythn Guitarist and vocalist Miku Kobato. Seven Major releases so far three mini albums and four full albums with the last released Digitally on the 13th this year With a Physical release on the 20th. The idea behind the band is the contrast between the visuals and then the sound and also the sound and the lyrics. Members (ages between 24 to 30) Akane Hirose ;- Drums (A-chan. the beast,Gorilla) Saiki Atsume :- Vocals (Sai-chan) MISA :- Bass :- (the Assasin. Misa, Misa, Misa) Kanami Tono :- Guitars (Mincho, main songwriter) Miku Kobato :- Rhythm Guitar, Vocals, Lyricist (Small Pigeon, wide shoulders, strong grip, Karuppo) Kobato in Japanese can be interpreted as small pigeon and Miku never met a pun she didn't like or a chance to mess with peoples heads Po!!. Also they have a slightly twisted sense of humour, for example the single Alone was released on Valentines day, and for the last two years on April fools day they rename themselves, the bands social media as Band Maiko where they dress as apprentice geisha's and release a video of a song written in the geisha dialect with some traditional instruments in it. Relentless live band due to having played basically anywhere they could plug in they also tend to add extra parts to the songs live , The costumes might have got their foot in the door but they have earned what they have gotten the old fashioned way, Worked hard, Toured hard, and constantly look to improve. Secret My Lips (Official Music Video) ua-cam.com/video/1Vuca7V-5Ec/v-deo.html Play (live) ua-cam.com/video/3LxX_t4vg7U/v-deo.html BAND MAID - Blooming (off the last album Conqueror) ua-cam.com/video/uUt_JBMocKM/v-deo.html Onset (Instrumental) ua-cam.com/video/mVrN-j_Uc0U/v-deo.html
Welcome to the best hard rock band in the world. They will rock your world and steal your heart - and they deserve SO much more recognition, so thank you for reacting to them! Every one of these ladies is at a high level skill-wise, and their songwriting ability is just ridiculous, which you'll find out when you try to find a bad song that they did - and you can't even find one that's less than great.
Always great to hear musicians reacting. They are great. The rhythm section is special. The bassist, Misa, is shy and mostly silent in band interviews, but mention Paz Lenchantin and there's no stopping her. B-M has an amazing catalogue of instant hits and slow burners that grow overtime and then challenge for the top spots. Bad or boring songs? Not heard one yet. 20+ songs in my top 10. And the new album hasn't arrived yet!
this is such an enjoyable reaction. thank you so much and it's great to see more fans of band-maid coming in. :)) i really like how the first listen is just you enjoying and rocking out to them, and the second is more technical. looking forward to see more! your exuberance is contagious! :D
The bassist MISA frequently switches between picking and slapping mid song. If you watch their live stuff you can see her doing it. She frequently gets solos in songs and in general she doesn't play a standard bass role. She almost plays a lead bass role. You'll see her constantly moving up and down the neck.
You have a good ear. I enjoyed your analysis of this song. You should definitely check out some of their live performances. BAND-MAID has a special energy live that doesn't get captured in their studio recordings. This is one of their simpler songs (especially in comparison to the rest of this new album). Their music can get really dense. They are very creative. Enjoy your BAND-MAID journey!
As a musician of 56 plus years I have been following Band-Maid since 2014 and I believe they are the most talented women on the planet IMO. Miku Kobato the rhythm guitar player is the lyricist and founder of the band they call her (pigeon). The lead guitarist is the writer and composer of 95 percent of their music. MISA the bass player and Akane the drummer both went to the same prestigious music school together. Saiki the lead vocals was added when Miku thought her voice wasn't strong enough for the lead vocals. I'm going to paste a bio from PRS guitars below from them about Kanami Tono, she is incredible. Born in a town near Yokohama, Japan, Kanami began playing piano at the age of 3. Though she continued her keyboard lessons for more than 20 years, it wasn’t until she saw a female guitarist that she found her calling. Under the tutelage of this inspiration, she was a quick learner and found herself pursuing various genres: hard rock, latin rock, funk, fusion. Upon entering college, feeling that finding band members who all had the same skill level and same musical direction would be challenging, she found herself performing solo gigs. It was about this time that the videos she had posted to UA-cam caught Miku (“Kobato”, Band-Maid founder)’s eye. She would get to play lead and wouldn’t have to sing, just the perfect criteria for Kanami. Thus, Band-Maid was born. Her favorite guitarists include Carlos Santana and Larry Carlton. She credits Carlos for her own use of pentatonic scales in her lead solos.
I really liked your reaction, BAND-MAID is the best rock band in the world. you have no idea what you started and welcome to the wonderful world of BAND-MAID.
Would love to see a bass cover of this song. It’s always insightful to get other musicians to give insights to other artists. Just got a new subscriber. Keep up the great work.
Misa, the bass player, uses a pick, then can transition to slapping flawlessly. Misa is know as The Barefoot Assassin and is one of the best bass players on the planet! If this is your first experience with Band Maid, get ready for a long and wonderful ride! For some great bass, try Dice! Band Maid, five Japanese ladies that will rock your world, best rock band on the planet at the moment. Please do a bass cover, that would be very cool, Misa deserves it!
She said recently in an interview its been more than two years since she dropped a pick, as you say her transition between the two is on another level,,,
Them ladies right now are probably Japan's finest hard rock/grrrl-rock/jrock export and if you can find the time to do a series on 'em, ALL of their MVs in there in their channel ARE ALL HITS NO MISSES I bet my 2 acres on that. You can also check out another young all girls Japanese band TRiDENT with their latest Brand New World if you can find the time later. Stay safe, healthy and happy ya.
MISA! MISA! MISA! Holding the line in Solid Guitar Rock, Band Maid has picked up the Mantle of Rock'n'Roll where the West has left it behind!! More Band Maid Always!! Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!
True musicians recognize talent and greatness when they see it. Genuinely charming reaction and good analysis. Rumor is that they'll drop another new video next week from their new album Unseen World so be on the lookout for that!
Can't believe I forgot to say to check out their live instrumental, Onset. I call it the closer. If you are not a fan after seeing that, you never will be!
Best Hard rock band on the Planet, no exceptions. They can play anything from soft Rock, through Jazz and funk Rock, traditional blues rock, and metal. They make ridiculously complex music, I don't think they've ever played a song where the second verse didn't have some form of variation, rarely stick to the usual western formula of verse/chorus/verse/chorus/bridge/chorus to fade. They have legitimately 30 tracks that are better than anything the US has produced in 20 years. MISA often switches from pick to slap mid solo. Other really good Japanese bands in no particular order: Lovebites, Aldious, Ningen Isu, Maximum the hormone, Fern Planet, Trident and Babymetal (if you are into that sort of thing). Welcome to the Pigeon hole!
MISA !!! MISA !!! MISA !!! the Barefoot Bass Assassin and the rest of the band is , Miku Kobato AKA Pigeon ( band founder worked at maid café ) Rhythm guitar 2nd vocals / lyrics , Kanami Tono Lead guitar / shredder writes n arranges music , Akane Hirose AKA Gorilla Drums , Saiki Atsumi AKA Ice Queen , Lead Vocals . fan base known as Maidiac`s .
MISA is the name of the bass player. She plays a signature “Black Smoker” bass made by Black cloud guitars. Suggestions? Dice, Blooming, Rinne for studio. But you should hear them live - Freedom, Onset, Play, Wonderland and Domination. The band are: Saiki Atsumi. Lead vox Miku Kobato. Rhythm guitar and backing vox Akane Hirose. Drums Kanami Tono. Lead guitar MISA. Bass guitar As far as other J-metal or J-rock bands go, check out Gacharic spin - they’re a lot of fun and awesome players. Their bassist, F chopper Koga is a beast. I like their video for “Generation Gap”(choose the one from 3 months ago) Of course there is Baby Metal - check out “Rondo of Nightmares with Mischief of gods intro” Finally, Wagaki band. There’s a video of them performing their song “Homura” live that was pretty incredible. Have fun falling down the J-rock rabbit hole!
Thank you so much for the very interesting and informative react. Next, I'll request a live video "Freedom" of them, which is said to be the happiest live video of rock 'n' roll in the world.
You have been assimilated into the BAND-MAID Collective. Resistance Is Futile! 😎🤘 The Pigeon Hole is deep... and you have miles to go before you sleep! BAND-MAID is: Miku Kobato (Koba; Kuruppo) - band founder, rhythm guitar, vocals, principal lyricist, "The Little Pigeon" 🕊️🎸 Kanami Tōno (Mincho; Kanamincho) - lead guitar, backing vocals, principal music composer, Miku's Sensei, "The Princess" 👸🎸 Akane Hirose (A-chan; Achi) - drums, backing vocals, band leader, "The Gorilla" 🍌🥁 Misa (MISA MISA MISA) - bass guitar, "The Barefoot Assassin" 🦶🗡️🎸 Saiki Atsumi (Sai-chan) - lead vocals, "The Queen" 👸🎤
Best Rock band in the world today! Kanami the lead guitarist is the one composing most of their stuff and she is a genius at it. As you will soon discover, they dont have a bad song, also they released a new album this week witch is fantastic (this is the first single from the album). I dont know if you're into metal but if you are take a look at Lovebites, female metal band also from Japan. Try Raise Some Hell or Edge of the World, both Live. Thanks for great reaction and stay safe!
Check out Band-Maid's music videos "Blooming" or "Dice." Their live music is just as good. For something more mellow, "Endless Story" or "Daydreaming". Misa plays with a pick and slap - sometimes changing between each in a given song.
I was introduced to Band-Maid last summer. Within a day they were my favourite active group. Check out some live performances; MISA's bass is outstanding.
Priceless reaction! Always a joy to see a Band-Maid newbie get indoctrinated! You just experienced what the band calls, "the gap". The gap between their cute looks and their sound. Now, if you love bass lines and bass artists you have found the PERFECT band. MISA, the basssist (yes, her name is stylized in all caps), lists Paz from Smashing Pumpkins as her influence. She is arguably THE BEST BASSIST currently playing. I would recommend going back to the beginning to get a good feel for their evolution. Start with Thrill and move on from there. Now, if you really do love good bass lines, the new album "Unseen World" is just a treasure trove of unreal bass riffs AND SOLOS from MISA this time. It is utterly mindblowoingfacemelting awesomeness!
Oh, I’m so glad I was able to find this first reaction of yours! I think those of us who understand music from the inside out are impacted the most by what the Maids do. What’s brilliant about them is how they do so much musically within songs that are still so approachable for casual, fun listening. Binge-watching your channel tonight…
Since you have only done one, you can pretty much pick at random. They have that many good songs. Their live stuff is exceptional though. For more of the Barefoot Assassin bass of Misa, I suggest Play, Dice, and even their first hit, Thrill. You can see how far they have come. For other bands, I recommend Polkadot Stingray, Glim Spanky, Trident, Scandal.
If someone would have told me 10 years ago that one of my favorite bands would be 5 Japanese women in maid outfits I would have laughed in their face. Yet, here we are. They are special. Enjoy the journey, I think you'll fall in love with them pretty quickly. Misa (the bassist) is a Tokyo School of Music grad (as is the drummer Akane) so... :-)
Kanami mentioned in a recent interview that covid19 lockdowns has turned her into a "riff machine". Akane, Misa as well, also mentioned they took this period as a unique opportunity to work on their current "lackings" in drums and bass. Miku Kobato spoke about how this forced idle times without concerts has given her the opportunity to write many songs lyrics. Saiki did not say much, but all the fans can hear her significant vocal improvement over the last year. The whole band worked at improving their musical cohesion. So this albuml is truly excellent. I must admit I was slightly concerned following the issue of Conqueror in which I saw a transition album, hoping our beloved ladies were not loosing their incredible creativity momemtum. I am fully reassured now and even thinking a better Band-Maid is just coming ahead.
I understand what you’re saying and I’m not disagreeing but I do think the explorations on Conqueror, the softer elements and more expansive soundscapes, despite maybe a few less exciting tunes, is exactly the thing that makes a band better and better. Rush was famous for taking that type of approach, one exploratory album (Permanent Waves) followed by a more cohesive, refined album (Moving Pictures) that raised their overall level in songwriting, composing, arrangement, etc. I hope Band Maid keeps following that approach and we get a more exploratory album after the refinements of Unseen World. I think it’ll serve them well in the long run, imho. 🤷🏻♂️🤘🏼🎸
Welcome to the rabbit hole that is Band-Maid. I fell into the hole just about a year and a half ago. I love these ladies so much. Their live music is better, which is a rarity (IMO). They have a lot of fun in their live videos & you can tell how much they love what they're doing on stage.
welcome to the band and enjoy the ride..being a musician, you will really appreciate them!..yes,do a bass video, misa is extremely talented..kanami,the lead guitarist composes most of the music with the other guitarist/vocal miku writing lyrics..start at the beginning to watch how they evolve..the earliest video is THRILL which is where a lot of us discovered this amazing band..i would then pick CHOOSE ME to get their vibe and then you go 'LIVE' .any live song..in concert they are even better!!!.i would link but im really bad at tech stuff, lol.enjoyed your review.
MISA, the bassist, an unusual technique where she switches back and forth between pick and slap instantly, and back again. She holds the pick in her hand without losing it.
Hello there, enjoyed your reaction. MISA, the bassist, uses a pick and does slap, often alternating in the same song. Band Maid really shines live. I would suggest Play (live), Wonderland (live) and Onset (live-instrumental). Peace out and have fun!
The bass player's name is Misa. She is called the barefoot assassin. She plays barefoot and drinks whiskey and will melt your face with her bass. In real existence she slaps and plays with a pick. she palms it when she slaps. You don't know how good she is yet because this song isn't bass heavy
It's actually Domnination live where she slaps and picks and you can see her switching the pick into her palm. Also the intro to Play - ua-cam.com/video/3LxX_t4vg7U/v-deo.html has incredible bass playing
Welcome New Princess to the Best Rock Band out there!. They are even better live. In their YT channel there are some live performances and every of them are great. Pick whichever you want and prepare to be amazed.

What you said. Best rock and roll band in the world today! Band Maid Forever! Po! 🤘🤘🤘
@Gary King you are a very cultured individual. Heck yeahhh!!!
Band Maid is the Best band of World.
With this sentence everything important (and right) is said!
Band Maiko is just as good
Yep. Pretty much.
MISA MISA MISA ! you will understand after a couple more tracks !
@@Like-a-PROinBERLIN Indian Posse, I.P.?
We call Misa the "Barefoot Assassin" as she loves to play her live sets barefoot, and she KILLS IT!!!
She never fails to kill that base
Best rock band in the world today, I need more BAND-MAID anything you have 100 tracks to choose from, not a bad one !
iThought you kept dat secret.....
Since you're a bassist you'll obviously fall in love with MISA but you'll also quickly fall in love with Akane on the drums. Those two are such a killer rhythm section. Chops for days and ideas for miles.
Gail Ann Dorsey.... MISA MISA MISA..... "Inspirations"......
Welcome princess! Misa is known for effortlessly switching between picking and slapping while playing her base. You can clearly see it in their live performance of 'Onset' instrumental video on their official channel. Enjoy. There is a lot.
I think she does it in the live version of "Domination" also. I could be wrong.
@paco acosta I just watched it. It's quick, but they show it at about two minute forty seconds in.
Band maid is here to take over the world. Very intelligent song writers. You will fall in love with them.
Their instrumental "Onset" is a great showpiece for their bassist.
The breakdown in Domination is a wet dream of bass technique
@@crapstirrer Dice lets her get a little nasty as well.
@@crapstirrer Especially the live version of Domination
Kanami is so considerate when writing these to give everyone a chance to show off.
@@crapstirrer she's very smart giving Misa and Akane room, not to mention how she has been slowly giving more and more to Miku on rhythm.
She invented “ the dissappering pick” technique or maybe perfected the alternate usage of pick and fingers for plucking/slapping
And many are represented with over 30 well produced music videos. ua-cam.com/users/BANDMAID
Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE concerts such as Tokyo's LINE CUBE SHIBUYA on February 14th (“Domination” ua-cam.com/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/v-deo.html), ZEPP 2018, Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 and some of the better 2019 tour Fan vids. If you like Band-Maid, make sure to support them by purchasing some concert tickets, CD, DVD/BD & Merch, etc. bandmaid.tokyo
Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009
Band-Maid members are: (Ages are best est.).

Misa is amazing but you never heard of Chris Squire from Yes or John Entwhistle from the Who? Misa didn't pioneer lead bass but she has perfected it
@@tommcfall1274 I didn't say she invented lead bass.
Man I love Misa but you fanbois always go too far.
Their live stuff is awesome
And Misa can tuck the pick between her fingers in a millisecond, fingerpick, and bring it back out just as quickly.
Band-Maid live is like no other show.

Don't forget the lyrics. I love the lyrics too Po.
Members (ages between 24 to 30)
Akane Hirose ;- Drums (A-chan. the beast,Gorilla)
Saiki Atsume :- Vocals (Sai-chan)
MISA :- Bass :- (the Assasin. Misa, Misa, Misa)
Kanami Tono :- Guitars (Mincho, main songwriter)
Miku Kobato :- Rhythm Guitar, Vocals, Lyricist (Small Pigeon, wide shoulders, strong grip, Karuppo) Kobato in Japanese can be interpreted as small pigeon and Miku never met a pun she didn't like or a chance to mess with peoples heads Po!!.

And the new album hasn't arrived yet!
welcome to hearing one of the worlds best rock bands, choose any song...they are great live and in MV's

Great Reaction and glad you found them. I did last February and love them
The bassist MISA frequently switches between picking and slapping mid song. If you watch their live stuff you can see her doing it. She frequently gets solos in songs and in general she doesn't play a standard bass role. She almost plays a lead bass role. You'll see her constantly moving up and down the neck.

@@crapstirrerthey do? Why? What does matter? A fan is a fan.
Hi from a locked-down UK. You just stumbled across my favourite band in the world. Saw them live in London in 2018 and been a huge fan ever since. 😁
Welcome to a deep rabbit hole. MV Blooming and live performances Real Existence, Domination, Moratorium
"Freedom" the live version from Feb 14, 2020 It blows the roof off the house!
They are the most beautiful and amazing band on the planet and you have not scratched the surface on how incredibly talented these girls are........

Any of their live performances are worth watching

You've discovered the best rock band on the planet. Every song you hear from them will have something that will leave your jaw on the floor.
You gone done did it now. Que the fan flood. Down the Pigeon hole we go!
THIS.
Onset is an instrumental and everyone has a solo. Also Freedom live has an incredible drum solo and is more of a pop song. Enjoy
Just spread the BAND-MAID word.... They Soooooo deserve it. You ain't seen nothing yet from these ladies...... They are THAT good.
yes girl you hit the mother load this is where all the hard rock fans are hanging out cause this is the best band to come along in at least 20 years
Check out any of their Live performances from their Feb 14th 2020 concert off their official UA-cam channel.
Welcome to the rabbit hole that is Band-Maid. I fell into the hole just about a year and a half ago. I love these ladies so much. Their live music is better, which is a rarity (IMO). They have a lot of fun in their live videos & you can tell how much they love what they're doing on stage.
You should check out their live shows, treat yourself to some bass glory and all in all great talented band! FREEDOM - DOMINATION or PLAY
welcome to the band and enjoy the ride..being a musician, you will really appreciate them!..yes,do a bass video, misa is extremely talented..kanami,the lead guitarist composes most of the music with the other guitarist/vocal miku writing lyrics..start at the beginning to watch how they evolve..the earliest video is THRILL which is where a lot of us discovered this amazing band..i would then pick CHOOSE ME to get their vibe and then you go 'LIVE' .any live song..in concert they are even better!!!.i would link but im really bad at tech stuff, lol.enjoyed your review.
Of course you should react to more Band-Maid! They are the best!
Dice I believe has some really good bass
Welcome New Princess to the Best Rock Band out there!. They are even better live. In their YT channel there are some live performances and every of them are great. Pick whichever you want and prepare to be amazed.
This was a delight to watch!
