How can people dislike the amazing percussive talent of a young kid? The only way that you can possibly dislike this video, is if you're bitter, jealous, and lacking the same talent.
Dude I miss that kid, He'd come over to my house when he was younger just to play my kit and he and I'd sit down and trade licks like crazy, he'd constantly ask me "How did you play that?" and I showed him, it took him a bit but he got everything. He came over one day after i had just gotten a Premier marching snare and he and I played on it for hours. I told him he should join a marching band, but fuck, Blue Devils? Kickass. I'm proud of you kid, keep on doing what you're doing.
The craziest part about this is how well Brandon was blending in. Like sure anyone with enough time can play the part but to play as if he was another member of the snareline is the crazy part. No wonder why he made BD at such a young age
It has been a pleasure to watch him march BD and I'm sad that this is his age out year. He's not only an accomplished percussionist with skill beyond people much older than he, but he did it with scoliosis. Husband and I attend rehearsals and between sets he appears visibly to be in pain but as soon as the count starts, he goes to attention and practices like every set is a show. Tenacity like that is an inspiration to people of any age.
Vlixyn well for my school if you drop your stick someone will throw it across the field/floor and you’ll have to get it. During shows we’d just leave it. That’s why drop sticks are an essential!
That happens. Our drum line did push ups if we messed up over and over or dropped a stick. As a group or individually. One time a guy was made to run a lap by the instructor because he had a tendency to leave his pinkies out on rolls. Didn't last long hehe.
U went from cymbals to snare in 1 year i was 11. I wrote and choregrafed a cymbal solo i received 2 nd place ti then accompanied one of the bass drumers in his solo
Brandon, I am officially a fan. You have a great talent most people dream to have. Some people practice long and hard to get to the level you are at now. Good luck in your musical career.
I saw this video years ago and was so wowed. Then I watched the Blue Devils win in 2019 and saw a closeup and was like “Hey it’s that same kid!” And “poof!” He aged out. Time really flies! Hope he has a brilliant career ahead of him!
Yeah, that's actually why I came back and watched this video again. It's cool seeing what Brandon and Ralph have done 4 years later. They've both inspired me.
Omg Brandon, I can't believe that you are in A corps now. My name is Lauren and I am in C corps and in color guard but I really want to play snare. 2017 will be my 3rd year and I will have done trumpet and guard. You are a great inspiration.
Yep. He'll probably teach snares for a few years (and probably have the choice where to teach), then eventually become caption head/program coordinator for a World Class Corps and/or WGI line. I mean, look what Roger Carter is doing now for the Bluecoats and Broken City
Brandon is unreal amazing! Blows my mind! He should come to the University of Michigan when the time comes for him to go to college. We'd love to have him in the Michigan Band!
So the dude on the left of him is named Mike and the guy on the right is Matt Keown. I hung out with both of these dues at the 2022 Alan Keown Drum Camp and I happened to recognize them here. Crazy. Mike was my cabin instructor and both of them trained me on Tenors.
i meet Brandon at flowing wells for a marching band competition his school did amazing got a ton of Superior ratings in all the category's plus i got his autograph

can you imagine going to a camp to try out, and having there being a 10 yr old kid that was better than half the people trying out? I think I would've given up drumming after that, haha. Can't wait to see what this guy does when he's older!
I think Brandon is around the age in which he can march drum corps already. Some kids start drum corps before 14 (I started in drum corps when I was around 12). So thus, maybe he could try out for one.
And now lil dude just aged out of the blue devils after being center snare for 2 years.
Must've liked how it felt in the middle lol 😅 he's such a great player 👏
He was only center for 2 years? Why
@@-hitmaniac-9957 Spent years getting insanely good.
@@SeanLaMontagne huh? If he was able to play with them at the age of 12 I would expect him to be center snare for all 4 years
@@-hitmaniac-9957 hands alone are not what makes a great center.
If Brandon was not center while he was at BD, then there was a good reason for that.
I go to high school with him, he's still such a great player, it's insane!
Really? Do you know when he started playing drums?
I honestly don't know exactly, I think it was around the age of 7. Either way, he's a great, friendly guy and he's such a great snare player.
+jake Farero Rincon?
Yep
What highschool?
The greatness increased but the snare stand never did
Oof
Well duh, of course it didnt
Ryandal Gilmore brandon is still a bit shorter than average :((
He’s like 5’3 I think

***** this was his first time in any DCI corp, last year he was in blue devils B,
michaelchees never mind that is my bad he was in the academy
14 years old because this video is in 2012
after watching this I think I failed at being a percussionist.

They are just jealous😂🖕

My guess it's people who don't like BD
I like to imagine it was an accident. Idk why any reasonable human would dislike this.

Who's watching this after the Blue Devils won 1st place at DCI in 2019 that Brandon was the Center Snare and it was his last year. 👀
So glad we had him in our marching band this year! :D He's great person to be around, and he is stylish too!
Is Brandon now the 2019 BD Section Leader Age Out?
Yep, his last year was 2019
What does “age out” mean
Adrian Frederic for DCI it’s from the ages of 14-19 (sometimes younger or older depending on the corps) so he surpassed the age limit for BD
Lorenozone age out for dci is like 21 dude
dodobobby like I said sometimes older too cause I wasn’t absolutely sure about that
That's Ralph Nader and Emmanuel Deleon :O
yea that was ralph nader
Nick Ogunyankin their kid
And matt Keown
“let me slow that down for you”

Now in 2018 he is the actual center snare for BD... crazy
Wow, is all I can say. Probably the best 12 year old player I've seen in my life!
He was last snare blue devils at 16
He still made it though and the only reason he is on the end is because he is very young
yeah hes been on the end on bd's line since 2014. In my opinion he has the best quality of sound on the entire line.
