- Later in the day at the System Blue Camp in SoCal, 12 year old Brandon got another chance to drum with the Blue Devils Snare line. Brandon learn the parts by watching Blue Devil's on-line videos and transcribing the notes.

I honestly don't know exactly, I think it was around the age of 7. Either way, he's a great, friendly guy and he's such a great snare player.

The craziest part about this is how well Brandon was blending in. Like sure anyone with enough time can play the part but to play as if he was another member of the snareline is the crazy part. No wonder why he made BD at such a young age
Dude I miss that kid, He'd come over to my house when he was younger just to play my kit and he and I'd sit down and trade licks like crazy, he'd constantly ask me "How did you play that?" and I showed him, it took him a bit but he got everything. He came over one day after i had just gotten a Premier marching snare and he and I played on it for hours. I told him he should join a marching band, but fuck, Blue Devils? Kickass. I'm proud of you kid, keep on doing what you're doing.

It has been a pleasure to watch him march BD and I'm sad that this is his age out year. He's not only an accomplished percussionist with skill beyond people much older than he, but he did it with scoliosis. Husband and I attend rehearsals and between sets he appears visibly to be in pain but as soon as the count starts, he goes to attention and practices like every set is a show. Tenacity like that is an inspiration to people of any age.
Who Is watching this in 2018 and thinking wow he has come a very long way.
Rumor is Brandon made the 2014 Blue Devils World Class Drumline!

Adrian Frederic for DCI it’s from the ages of 14-19 (sometimes younger or older depending on the corps) so he surpassed the age limit for BD

Vlixyn well for my school if you drop your stick someone will throw it across the field/floor and you’ll have to get it. During shows we’d just leave it. That’s why drop sticks are an essential!
That happens. Our drum line did push ups if we messed up over and over or dropped a stick. As a group or individually. One time a guy was made to run a lap by the instructor because he had a tendency to leave his pinkies out on rolls. Didn't last long hehe.

I couldn't do a double stroke roll until I was 16 and I'm 16 now. This kid is crazy. Love it!

Blue Devils writer writes the music for the show for my schools marching band (which im in). So pumped to actually meet them this year and watch their show and then go to the DCI competition the next day.
