If you are wanting to know what to do in Scarborough then I will tell you all you need to know in this Scarborough 2019 Travel Guide. All You Need to Know about Scarborough in Yorkshire England.
I'll show you the best places for fish and chips in Scarborough.
Scarborough is called the “Queen of the Yorkshire Coast” and is made famous with the song recorded by Simon and Garfunkel titled simply “Scarborough Fair” with the lyrics to a tale of a young man love for a woman he once met at the Scarborough market.
There are 2 bays to Scarborough, the South bay and the North Bay, I will show you both bays and what to do and where to go in Scarborough.
I'll also take you on the Scarborough Victorian Central Tramway.
Central Tramway is Scarborough’s Victorian cliff railway on the historic South Bay. Opened in 1881 the company carries 500,000 passengers a year and is preserving the heritage of the site for future generations.
If you like miniature railways, then you are in for a treat as I will take you on a train ride on The North Bay Railway in Scarborough.
North Bay Railway is a miniature railway in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, England. It was built in 1931, to the gauge of 20 in, and runs for approximately ⁷⁄₈ mile between Peasholm Park and Scalby Mills in the North Bay area of the town.
Scarborough also has a magnificent park called Peasholm Park which I will show you around.
Peasholm Park is an oriental themed municipal park located in the seaside town of Scarborough, North Yorkshire, England. It opened in 1912 and became a favourite venue for galas, displays and exhibitions. The park was extended to include Peasholm Glen, a natural ravine, in 1924.
I will also take you on a walk to The Lighthouse in Scarborough to see the iconic Diving Belle where I will also point out Scarborough Castle.
Scarborough Castle is a former medieval Royal fortress situated on a rocky promontory overlooking the North Sea and Scarborough, North Yorkshire, England.
If you have children then I will show you Luna Park on Sandside in Scarborough.
A Modest funfair featuring rides for children & adults, plus snacks & arcade games.
I'll also take you on a Pirate Boat Ride on the North Sea in Scarborough.
I also take a visit to Papas Fish and Chip Shop in Scarborough which was voted Britain's best fish and chips as seen on the BBC.
I also make a wish on Zoltar and wish I was Big.
I'll also take you to the Freddie Gilroy Statue.
Freddie Gilroy and the Belsen Stragglers' is a giant steel structure made by Ray Lonsdale, an artist, fabricator and sculptor and is now on permanent display, thanks to the generosity of a local Scarborough resident.
The sculpture is based on a retired miner Ray became friends with who turned out to also be one of the first soldiers to relieve the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp at the end of World War II.
This piece of art is not just about Freddie Gilroy but represents all the normal people that were pulled out of an ordinary life and forced into a very extraordinary and dangerous one during the World Wars.
I also show you The Scarborough Bathing Belle.
The Bathing Belle represents Scarborough at the start of her popularity as a spa town and the UK's first sea bathing resort, while The Diving Belle, installed on Vincent Pier last year, represents Scarborough in the 21st Century, moving confidently into the future.
I'll also show you The Scarborough Open Air Theatre.
Scarborough Open Air Theatre is not only host to summer’s biggest shows, but is the largest open air theatre in Europe! Elton John, Britney Spears, Noel Gallagher and Lionel Richie are just a few of the amazing acts that have come to perform here in Scarborough!

‘The Fish pan’ on the promenade does lovely fish and chips.
You have never had fish and chips until you have tried “Small Fry” up in the town. 52 North Street. We used to live in Scarborough and each time we return we make a beeline for this place

The golden grid is a fantastic restaurant to eat inside! Definitely recommend it for a traditional sit in fish and chips or breakfast. Does other dishes too!

We traveled from Stalybridge to Scarborough last week, me and the wife had a full English breakfast at The Salt Water Cafe.Bar,
We sat on the terrace in the sun early morning.
The staff, food and coffee was excellent, the staff was even better.... wonderful people and enjoyed every bite x thank you Salt Water Xx

North Bay has completely changed in recent years. Now gone are Kinderland, Marvel's theme park, The Corner cafe and Watersplash World. If I remember correctly, there was also a venicular lift like the one on South bay. Paesholm park is a nice walk and it's an enjoyable little ride on the mini railway. The outdoor concert venue is pretty spectacular in the evening and the cricket ground isn't far away either. P.S You failed to mention the famous Scarborough Spa and the outstanding Grand Hotel.

I lived in Scarborough for 10 years. Great place.. The best fish and chips in town is Mother Hubbard's at the top of the high street near the train station.. Its even better than The Palms in Las Americas. The home made tartar sauce is amazing. Its about £9 for a huge fish and chips, a bowl of tartar sauce a rack of bread and butter, pot of tea or coffee and small jug of milk, and the haddock is skinned and boned. Best fish and chips I ever had. You would love it Lee.

Lifeboat fish and just bottom of eastborugh just before the seafront. Then walk up the cobbled hill behind it towards wilsons pop in there for a pint. Then come say hi to me at nickys salon next door. Then up the hill to the Leeds Arms for another pint. Before going up the hill to see St Mary's Church and the grave of Anne bronte. After that it's a small walk to the castle. After that follow paths down to sea front again. Enjoy. X. Scarborough looks nicer than i realised...Robin Hoods Bay is not too far...well worth a visit. If you like the Tramway, go visit the island of Capri as they have a massive one. Please do a review of Llandudno The Macmaster would enjoy it.

It was okay, as in if my sister didn't tell me to shut up even if I said under 1 syllable it would've been great.
Papas number 1, worst fish and chips in Hull they advertise Lincolnshire potatoes .Maris Piper are the best. What you said was spot on when you realised the quality what you was eating.The fish is to thick and tasteless i'd describe as mutton dressed as lamb, always ask for tail end the thinnest part of the Haddock.

The imp 2112 I was so disappointed. So wanted to like them and rave a lot them. They were aweful.

Beware the seagulls in Scarborough my husband was walking along eating fish and chips when one swooped in grabbed at the box he then did a double take he swooped in again and shat all over them the minute my husband put them in the bin he was back straight in and had a feast intelligent or what

I'm not even local. I live in Beverley, so I travel there and back on the train. So I'm out the house for 0600 and I don't get back until 2100. Its a long day, but it's better than spending a weekend loafing about the house.
