I loved your video. I have been to Whitby 4 times . It is one of my favorite places on earth. I am from the US. I originally learned about Whitby planning my first trip there over 20 years ago. I loved the Magpie Cafe !!. I highly recommend the cliff side walk from Whitby to Robin Hoods Bay. It is spectacular. I am glad this popped up on UA-cam.
Having been to Whitby, I found it a lovely place, so much so, that I'm planning a move there, the sea is a lovely blue, perfect for kayak fishing, & the scenery is wonderful, with many walking trails. I currently live in Lincolnshire, where the brown sea & flat landscape don't leave a lot to be desired. Nice one Mac, enjoyed the vlog.
We went to the pie and mash shop in August (2020) this year very safe inside partitions set up to keep you safe and the food is delicious the pies are cooked on the premises and served on tin plates while World War Two music is played a brilliant atmosphere.
I'm going to whitby for a school trip I'm so excited and she is making us walk to the abby because we are learning adout Dracula so we have to walk up All 199 STEPS
I moved to spain to retire, but I do miss Whitby, it holds many lovely memories for me, the last time we stayed we went to the Michelin star restaurant, which is Dog friendly and had a fab meal.
We love your videos thank you, especially now we can't get out and about at the moment! Very cheerful, I even used your Scarborough one to teach the kids about a seaside town!
Thumbs up ere' - great tour around Whitby and plenty of interesting info - been there a few times over the years - look forward to your travels - many thanks for sharing :)
By the way the red boat in the back grounground is the boat my dad works on its called emulate lll and the beach is called tait Hill 😊I live here i'am so lucky i have lived here my hole life and so has my family 😊😊
Hi, is Whitby popular just for tourism? How is it in winter? Less touristy or tourist stay indoors in cottages? Please recommend a good area which buzzes with tourists throughout the year....Thanks Ash
Hi. Welcome back home. I bet you're ready to go back. I love Tenerife. I'm off back next week to film some more vlogs. Not sure what to do yet. Going to film me paragliding off a mountain. 😲
The church next to the abbey has an interesting maritime history. Also Fortune's smoked kipper house on Henrietta Street, just below the church, is worth a little look.
We've booked to go Whitby as a family plus dog holiday instead of our normal overseas jaunt. OH really not impressed but after watching your clip cant wait to do go. Fab review and looking forward to our trip
Lee love your vlogs your personality and zest for life shine through! Am planning to move over to the canary Islands in 2021 permanently so have been binge watching all your vlogs keep up the good work you will beat Mark Weins (6.4m subs) one day 💪
Great Vlog you was so informative back then ok must have been your favorite word and Lee if you read your comments why dont you this Summer 2024 do a tour of seaside towns,we have a few down South like Brighton, Bognor, Bournemouth, Weymouth and beyond only a suggestion down south we have plenty off beautiful places New Forest l bet you have never been there. Well anyway my friend love watching you all the best to the family ❤ Richard and Tanya from Southampton ( We got a big Port here try a cruise from here) cheers are friend
Haddock all day long mate, another good vlog, only been there once, ate inside The Magpie, was nice but I don't think it was worth the money. Didn't go to the Abbey though, wish we had. Makes me laugh at some people staring at you, usually the older gen., "Who's that?" "That's err.... isn't it"? "No it's not, is it"? "It is you know" Probably still trying to work out who you are off mainstream TV. LOL.
Did you k ow any street or lane called grape was originally called groupe c**** Lane or raid it was were lady's of the night worked.now tu didn't know that did yah. X
Great video...been before......but need to go back after your nice presentation...suggestion for your future vlogs...do a bit of filming in the pubs ad restaurants that you go in.
Great vid... Nice to find one with a human giving information instead of a tour with just annoying music and no info ( No matter how well it is filmed)...
What time of year did you visit? This will be part of my first international trip once things go back to normal (we are going to do a day walk on the Cleveland way from Ravenscar to Whitby and then stay a couple of days) I'm just wondering when the best time of year to do this might be!
I think from memory it was July. The weather was superb. I much prefer Whitby in the Summer. It can get very busy but there's so much to do. You'll have an amazing time. 👍🏼
Hi, you won’t believe this but, I have A LUMIX GH5 and a Sony A7III However, all my vlogs from the last few months are filmed on a Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus Phone, I use iPhone for my main phone, but use the Samsung as a video camera. Been really happy with it. :) Goes to show you don’t need to spend a fortune on pro cameras to get a result. I do however use an external microphone. Thanks for watching and taking an interest. Lee.
Cant believe Ive never actually been there. It looks a lovely place, though i guess its probably heaving in a 'normal' summer. Fish and chips as they should be, lashings of salt and vinegar eaten by the sea. Im a cod man Im afraid...
Hi, Any best places to buy houses/cottages in Whitby that are popular with tourists throughout the year? What the temperature November to February there? Thanks
Dunno where you are from Bernard, but we prefer cod in Yorkshire. Contrary to popular tourists belief, Magpie is not the best chippy in Whitby anymore, you walked past Quayside Cafe twice , try looking for Master Fryer Certificates in chippy windows. There are more won in Whitby than in any town in the UK, Quayside being the best. You also walked over the harbour swing bridge without mentioning it. It's a bit unique. Monks path is a great walk down from the Abbey too. Fortunes Kippers, one of the oldest fish smoke houses in the country, just around the corner from the abbey steps missed your attention. Google it. Probably the only smoke house to tell Brussels to fuck off when Eu demanded that their 150 year old wooden smoking pegs in the 250+ year old smokehouse are unhygenic and need to changed for stainless steel. Nothing is gonna live on a smokehouse peg. Whitby was a whaling town, not a port. Whales were killed and dragged upon the beach. every part of the whale was used in the town. Have a look in the whaling museum.

This video makes me realise I live in a beautiful part of the world.

I had battered sausage and chips from Brown's at Cleethorpes
The customer in from of me had gorgeous looking haddock.
Very crunchy looking.
Whitby is my favourite place. But it can completely knacker you out if not careful. Steps and hills all over .
Hi, is Whitby popular just for tourism? How is it in winter? Less touristy or tourist stay indoors in cottages? Please recommend a good area which buzzes with tourists throughout the year....Thanks Ash
Great video, the green dragon really is a great little place, has a tap room on the side of the bottle shop too :)
Cool. Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed it. :)
Also over 70 gluten free beers on their website too
nightmareghostz 101 Actually that is good to know thanks as I suffer from that, but love beer. :) Thank you.
Try any of the brass castle beers! Disruptor is a great DIPA, and everything by brass castle is brewed to a gluten free and vegie/vegan recipie :)
nightmareghostz 101 I will give them a try. Thanks. Could be a game changer for me as beer really upsets my digestive system. 😎👍🏼👍🏼🍺🍺 Cheers.
Really loving your videos.
Im also from Nottinghamshire

Hi, Any best places to buy houses/cottages in Whitby that are popular with tourists throughout the year? What the temperature November to February there? Thanks
@@Pinkstone1111 everywhere is popular in Whitby all year around. Temperatures November to February is brass monkeys balls
Cod to me tastes miles better than haddock their is a good fish and chip shop down the side alley of the Angel pub
I'll give it a try. I'm back soon. :)
Never been there looks great .... Can,t beat Gran canaria
I'll have to visit there. Apparently it's a beautiful island. ✈️🍺👍🏼😎❤️
