OMG, you just save my life! i was sitting thru all the Team tutorial, no 1 mention the 2 version!!! those people's video should get a thumbs down! why can't they think for people who are new to TEAM?

I think background effect only works on hp,Lenovo laptops I have Dell the option is not present

I've tried manually installing through appdata and there is no uploads folder and i've added my own yet I still dont see my custom background
Edit: I have school version of MS Teams and when I use other versions it will work and I will have custom backgrounds but with school MS Teams it wont, is it because the school wont let me or???

Before, I can see the apply background effects but when I got a problem on teams and followed a microsoft suport person's instruction and deleted all my folders on the app data and restarted my Teams, I was unable to see the background effects option. Can someone help me please

Yes you are right
You need an up to date processor that can handle the virtual backgrounds. To be able to set background effects you need to be using the desktop client on a PC or Mac. If you couldn’t use the background blur feature on your computer previously, this feature won’t be available to you, as it requires a modern CPU that supports AVX2.
If you don’t have the background effects option yet but do have background blur - don’t worry, the feature will arrive in your client.

When we download Microsoft Teams, how do we know if it is a Browser Based Teams or Downloaded Program version?
If its browser based you will see your main browser window around the experience and the icon in the lower start bar will be of your browser rather than the teams icon.

i started my account on phone and i have the all options but i dont have show background effects(now im on laptop)
My computer didn't display the background effects options, I assumed that the system just couldn't handle it. Yesterday the background effects appeared and I was able to use it fine, even with my own custom background. Now again today, the option doesn't exist.
