Ben Lui 4 Munro Circuit | Ben Oss, Beinn Dubhchraig and Beinn a'Chleibh | Munro Bagging

- For this hike we decided to try something a bit more adventurous and tackle the four Munros near Tyndrum. Ordinarily these Munros are done as two separate walks (Ben Oss and Beinn Dubhchraig from Dalrigh, and Ben Lui and Beinn a'Chleibh from Glen Lochay). However, with two cars it makes it possible to chain the two routes together and bag all four in one go. Once again we were fortunate to have a spectacular day, enjoying views down to Loch Lomond, up towards Ben Nevis and out to the Western Isles.

I remember being amazed when I caught sight of Ben Nevis (and the back of the CMD arête) clear as day from Stud an Lochain- at Loch an Daimh, just north of glen Lyon. Its remarkable how far you can see from Scottish peaks on a clear day.

Thanks again both of you for this one. These four are on the to do list but as there is a river crossing I need to wait until the time is right when it's low. Concentrating on finishing the last of the Crianlarich range and about to take on Ben More and Stob Binnein soon!
Thanks Marco! There is an alternate route to do the 4 of them, which avoids the river crossing. It’s also a circuit, so avoids the need for 2 cars. You would start in the same place as we did, and follow the same route up until the final descent. Instead of descending through the forest / bog / river crossing, you can descend east off Ben Lui and pick up a track that follows the River Cononish back to Dalrigh. It’s a longer walk, but a lot of people prefer it because it avoids the bog, and is a circuit.

Watching all your old routes, picked up on Douglas's last munro choice being Ben More on Mull, thats my plan aswell, think it will be an amazing weekend and have as many friends/family join me, on 172 just now, getting there!, what an amazing day you had on those 4 hills. The Dynamic Duo!!
Thanks! It was a great day of walking (well except for the bog at the end 🙃). Yeah, I’m hoping to make a big trip of Ben More, if and when I get there. It’s becoming slower going as they get more remote and awkward to do. Also love the “dynamic duo” - don’t think anyone has ever called us that before 😁 All the best! Douglas

Thanks Craig, it was a tough one! It’s certainly more manageable to do them separately - albeit you’d have to go through that bog twice when doing Lui 😧
