  • This walk takes in the three munros of Ben Lui, Ben Oss & Beinn Dubhchraig from Dalrigh. Starting in the dark the track follows the River Cononish into the base of Ben Lui before rising up into its north corrie. We took the east ridge to gain the summit cairn and experienced a superb sunrise with patchy low cloud.

I know I have chatted a number of times, but it has to be said this video is superb. Ben Lui is awe inspiring from the north, but gentle from the south. Once again you have caught the unique atmosphere of a hill. I have been up it the once, in winter conditions (Easter time), but on the final west slope the ice was so hard my crampons hardly penetrated. Bit nerve racking, no room for slipping. Doubt my ice axe would have arrested a fall either. Another anecdote, there was some party in the valley below from (Tyndrum), but even from the top of Ben Lui one could here a distant, 'thud, thud, thud' sound. That day was bright and very still.

Beautiful Charlie. Love when the hills are steaming like that. Did these 4 on their normal routes but fancy the walk in from Dalrigh and camping in Ben Lui's corrie when the snow's here. You pair have some engine. I've camped in Glen Auchenreoch great place. Great watch again Charlie. Cheers

Amazing conditions Charlie, very atmospheric with the clouds and brocken spectres everywhere lol. Great film of your trip. Did Ben Lui and Beinn a' Chleibh a number of years ago but used a bike for the long way up Glen Cononish. Got battered and kicked in the ass when the weather turned nasty haha, great memories though. Thanks for sharing. Mick.

Hi Bereit18, Your right... I've just run through the video again after some time and we certainly had a cracking day. Many thanks for watching and prompting me to revisit. ATB Charlie.

Great film! Hoping to get the 4 bagged in a one day next summer :) The views from Ben Lui made up for the lack of on Beinn Dubhcraig i think. How is the climb up to Ben Oss from the col, Is it steep or no bad? Thanks once again C & M for showing us how its done, Peter.
