DCUO rage tanking is all about shield rotation and I consider severe punishment a shield as well. I've been tanking rage for 5-6 years with some elite contents and the power has changed from stats revamp. back in the day, you need eviscerating chain to cancel rage crash and very fun but now it's boring as I DO NOT use eviscerating chain at all, never! ALWAYS ALWAYS pop severe punishment + remorseless recovery, these two goes together unseparatable, under duress, I do not lose any health at all as long as I pop shield before rage crash at around 9'o clock (always have punishment + remorseless recovery). keep the shield rotation going that is the main key here. Also, I prefer to juggle adds twice using without mercy and chrono emitter that way the adds can barely hit you so no big damage + if you run around it helps too. IF I battle just boss then I put supercharge shield instead of eviscerating chain so that I have 4 shields + personal dampening shield so 5 shields in total.
That can be a successful strategy for Regular content and possible older elite content but anything current will still kill you with that setup. The damage you take will be beyond what severe or HLS will absorb and then you have zero protection for the 4 seconds until severe is back up especially if there any mechanics that add damage over time in addition to any bosses or adds
You only get knocked down after using E-Chain if your target is blocking while you hit the E-Chain combo and you try to use a combo power immediately after finishing the combo on a blocking opponent
So when you do stat points for rage do all health first I’m just coming back to the game and CR is 90 something and stats are like 58 I think.. I’ve been doing dominance cause I saw a build for it all dominance then health
Except one new dlc where alot bosses like to stun or mind controlling you while ur on several punishment or direct rage? kinda bit risky could lead rage crash if stuck w mind controlling or stun hard couldn't hit dread blast or chain it too late troublesome fights 🧐
Idk what im doin wrong .. tryin to do the elite alert with 120 arts and 400 sp all in health .. but i still get either rage crush or die from bosses attack .. i see that severe punishment is not the same as before its getting weaker and the health regeneration is slow .. also it doesn't work with all of situations idk why .. but in regular content its really good most of the time no need for healer even in raids
Rage is harder than fire. Rage tank is strong asf but you can obviously still die if you don’t pay attention. I personally use fire cause I made a OP fire shield build and I can also heal like crazy when I need to
I can't even decide what power I wanna use dude, i wanna start again, I've got an old nature/speed character but feel detached from them for some reason, I want speed again as movement coz I just wanna be a speedster tbh but as for a main power, I dunno none of them are biting me, I haven't bought any extra powers because again none of the ones I've got are holding me and so I want to be sure I'll enjoy one if I do buy it. I play mostly solo other than forced content in which I play healer on my nature character and idk if other roles would be more fun but I might be trash at them. Eh my mind is just annoying to deal with
The superman ally is great for the group in harder content, it doesn't do as much for you as a tank. With rage some run ire anyways for the breakout to cancel rage crash but its more a personal choice.
Yeah that's ok that's good actually. The point of a tank is to protect your allies by getting the enemies to focus on you and taking hits for your allies. Well at least that's what a tank should be.

Ive seen some loadouts use remorseless recovery instead of the chain. It doesnt completely cancel out rage crash but it reduces it significantly. Would you think that is fine to use instead of the chain? Just so you dont have to worry too much about using the chain at the right moment
Rage crash is only reduced by 50% in every case it will be better to cancel it completely and learn the core mechanic. A reducer like remorseless and not cancelling will get you killed each time in elite content. Players ran remorseless because it granted Fervor (the same as redirected rage) for 12s which is the same as Severe Punishment so you always have increased defense. But it is not required at all now

You can run 2 reducers in your loadout instead of trying to time a rage crash ignore. Far less risky.

That’s because it got nerfed you need spec a certain way to balance out mostly grab your health and dom

Water healing is fun also atomic tank for me if ur doing solo that’s pretty solid cuz u have built in heals too

The superman ally is great for the group in harder content, it doesn't do as much for you as a tank. With rage some run ire anyways for the breakout to cancel rage crash but its more a personal choice.

you won't run into any power issues as rage, there is always the cyborg ally passive as well

If you want to just spam supercharges, 160 is fine, 200 just gives a stat boost for using a supercharge.
I get he put the sp in health but reatro and Dom max out Dom then reatro because it helps your shield last longer

Dilustel adds base health, good for helping your group.
Everyman allows you to take big hits as the lower your health is, the higher your defense is
