@@solparadox oh that I was referring to damage transfer, the adds weren’t hurting me enough to dmg brick enough to overcome the heals from fortify golem so I could sit there forever and not take dmg. In a raid etc adds would hit harder which will lower bricks health a lot more

You can damn near battle tank anything up to elite end game raids. I can battle tank through elite end game alerts. Clarion Demon fang Grim With brick and hybrid focus is my go to base build 578 sp 100 dom 150 resto 100 prec 30 might 50 health Weapon mastery Brawling In elite end game 2 builds 1 with brick Superpowered 200 dom 200 health 100 resto I still get wm for better ranged counters I lower from maxing crits and just stick with the 10 min Anything else i invest heavy in dom and resto The build for swe Brick jackhammer(mainly a taunt but helps rebuff quick to resummon brick) Grip Fortify Perfect poise Gemstone Arts Eog( art swap with mercy) Mystic Manacles Pretty much can take you through the bosses For single Arts Clarion Manacles Eog Pebble blast Gemstone Jackhammer Perfect poise Grip( optional to swap with soothing sands depending on chemistry with other tank) Last move i use is to help with burn Reinforce With 6 pieces elite has a 25% of being a shield which is an added bonus. But its your main form of healing yourself because you cant hold block on 1 boss or you will give up a blue. Also heals 3 group members and will shield a player above 95% health which is valuable especially in elite. Probably one of my favorite artifatc is the clarion, boss tank can help with solid contribution burn and be able to support themselves and the group

Personally I will always love Fire. Best for high end can still be fire but the easiest tank for that type of content is Rage. Rage is just so strong you don't even really need great gear or skillpoints.

@@flipeled Earth is really only the true battle tank, in regular content you would be perfectly fine battle tanking. You really just run a dps supercharge and put unstoppable on and spec and wear dps gear.
Fortify Golem is unnecessary for Brick, it's NEEDED for Crystal. Totem is Necessary as an AOE DoT that also heals golems. Brick will use Jackhammer to eat up his power, but he still does damage without needing Fortify Golem. He is there to taunt, take 50% damage you take, punch and toss rock handclap bullets at enemies at a distance. You keep pulling enemies into Totem to deal AOE DoT that also juggles and stuns enemies while healing Brick.
Just realised while brick is beating on that cloud in the background there is a giant rock golem stomping around ahaha shoulda noticed sooner but that's funny how brick is just a tiny version
Soothing Sands isn't worth it, the heal is small and its a 18s cooldown. Unless there is a specific raid mechanic that requires group immunity (extremely rare) you will decrease your survivability by running it.

no, lasso its more of a niche/joke artifact that its really useful except in rare situations and even then a controller could use lasso to the same effect a tank could.
hey Obsidian, im having a hard time choosing between earth, ice or fire for both dps aoe damage and single target, but also for the tanking side, i like rage but it’s terrible single target, please between those three powers which do u think is the best for entirely all around?
can you use ampoule of terror instead of the chronometric emitter for stun consumable? the ampoule causes fear but it’s for 6s, the emitter actually stuns but only for 3.5s
That supercharge is trash for EOG earth spam because you have to be in speed movement mode to use it…in which, you can get knocked out off. It’s best to use Acrobatics or flight movement for The EOG earth tank spam.
this is true, but alot of earth players are also superspeed movement for the dps benefits so they only have dash attack to work with. If I could be acro and use perfect poise all the time it would be great but superspeed has massive dps advantages

I also notice that with earth tanking, the stone skin doesn’t show any numbers that are supposedly being “absorbed” it’s hard to test if something works without seeing the numbers or effectiveness. I’m starting to think that perhaps stone skin works better when specd into health also. It just feels as if stone skin does nothing at all…especially in elite.
Another question about Mystic. I saw on your fire video that resto crits affect the heals from mystic, would it be beneficial to Max the resto crust with Aftershook tanking?
you can if you have the extra SP to spend, with the low resto you'll have even with the crits they aren't going to be too consequential but similarly to the movement mode innates if you have enough SP it certainly wouldn't hurt to take them
@@diamondep nah perfect poise I save for those moments where you feel you are going to die for example COUE Trigon when the eyes come out etc. It's basically your "oh shit" button that will save you

Could you run lasso as the pull with the artifact instead of earthern grip and then replace dash attack with superman level 10 shield? The earthern grip is such a bad pull
@@ObsidianChill thanks for replying, I’m not the biggest fan of using up an art slot just for a better pull, but earthern grip is just pure ass :( if it didn’t stun and just pulled like every other tank pull it would be fine but oh well
The dps side of the powersets will all benefit from superspeed more than other movements. Acrobatics can easily be substituted for tanking. Flight and skimming are the worst for tanking
It does not work well, Gemstone shield is the strongest tank shield and then earth would also use hard light shield, which is also strong so you don't have the shield breaking easily to proc circes mask and you don't really need the stun from it either because you have the knockdowns from jackhammer
I replace epicenter with amazon deflection, depending on the map. And I use brick loadout. Since it’s way better. But ofc you lose out on the dps/tank.
@@crownmeking6070 besides shield strength your defense increases with dom and the only reason they may say spec health to start is based on brick damage transfer but even then aftershock tanking wouldn't be impacted by that
aftershocks, if brick dies during any of the eyes phases you are more than likely dead, that is too much damage too quickly to take with no mitigation and gemstone is a slow shield summon.

Why don't you use the Group Breakout Power? In the Aftershook Loadout would you take out HL and use the SC shield for the Group Breakout or Epicenter.

Superspeed isn't required but man it does help a lot

yup, at 200 it only gives you the extended sc chest mod basically at 7% so if you have it at 160 and use the chest mod you only use 2% SC
