I'm sure it's cake flour because you only add baking powder if you using cake flour. Because as far as I remember my mama told me self raising have most the dry ingredients. But it only good to use self raising if making certain things. Cake flour with baking powder is best raise quite well.
Looking at your wonderful recipe i get so homesick,my mom used to bake scones almost every weekend. Now i am living so far from home here in Germany with realy no place to get lovely scones make it even worse. Thank you for your recipe i will be making them tomorrow.
my honey these are the best scones I've baked yet, id like them sweeter so I'm making a second batch right now. thank you for the amazing recipe. LOVING IT!!!
I triad the recipe scones are delicious thanks I will keep this recipe. 👌🏾 I didn’t have cake flour I used bread flour is the best. Once I have cake flour I will try them again
I am baking these two days in a row and my family can not stop singing praises. The last batch is in the oven as I comment. Thank you so much for this recipe. Also, I substituted milk for amasi on both days.
Out of all of the many UA-cam videos on how to make scones/biscuits, this one and it’s method makes the most logical sense. I would tweak the ingredients slightly and not roll out as thin as is done in this video, AND definitely NOT use a glass, but a proper cookie-cutter. Using a glass compresses the air inside the glass, which cannot be good for the scone being cut!
I just made these now, they're nice and fluffy, for yellow colour I added custard powder coz I didn't have the one I see in the video, quite nice, thanks
Thank you for this recipe. Tried it yesterday, the taste is good however they aren't soft like scones. What could I have done wrong? I used barcabonate of soda.
It could be that your oven was too hot or air was getting in. I experienced this with my oven, when I changed the oven my scones texture is not the same anymore. The oven I use now is too hot at the bottom
1. Banana Just a quarter cup (60ml) of mashed banana can replace an egg. The banana adds great moistness to the food; however, you will likely have a banana-flavoured treat. 2. Ground flaxseeds To replace one egg, simply mix 1 tablespoon of flaxseed powder with three tablespoons of water and mix until gelatinous. 3. Buttermilk Buttermilk is a popular replacement for eggs as the result is soft and tasty. What you have to do is use half a cup (125ml) of buttermilk to replace one egg. Just remember that when making the dough you’ll need to add less water than the recipe may require
Hello Does anyone know if I can "bake/cook" these in a counter top electric pan with a lid? I don't have a stove where we're living right now... 😏 It's a good size multi cooker, grill, slow cooker, fry pan and it has a nice tall lid. I need to be making something.. Bread like,, cake, etc. These look wonderful. Thanks 😊

Is it unhealthy? We ate cookies cut ka glass throughout childhood and still do it. Please elaborate some more on the compressed air?

@@chicopatisserie4338 okay I will
How much custard powder did u add pls?
@@Della2010 I didn't put much, let's say just 2 tbsp, it did for me
Can I not add 3 tsp on baking powder instead maybe just add 1 and a half tsp of baking powder cos mine had a bitter taste?

Amasi is perfect

Lovely what can I substitute for eggs. Regards
1. Banana

You can skip them, and you don't need to replace with anything. Many scones recipes don't have eggs
