We might finally be in for Warcraft 4 the RTS game or an actually proper Warcraft 3 reforged. Not even a speculation Blizzard accidentally or on purpose to build up hype dropped a hidden patch for Warcraft 3 Reforged called 2.0. For context, Reign of Chaos was 1.0, Frozen Throne 1.07, Reforged 1.32 meaning this might be seriously big as it is a whole number.
Big as in getting a whole new game. Keep in mind in just a few weeks we will likely get Warcraft Direct which is the 30th anniversary of the franchise, where we will get the roadmap for War Within and potentially a whole new RTS game. Seeing that we actually got a survey for what they wanted to change and add, we might be able to already say what this Warcraft 3 reforged REFORGED could look like

Considering that Designer Dave and other guys from the old guard weren't involved in this project, I highly doubt it it's Warcraft 3: RE Reforged.

I have doubts that it will be a hit. Not only there is little to tell between W3 and WoW (this was confirmed on multiple interviews), Blizzard modified the terms and conditions to a point that no one can legally own their creation on W3/W4. This killed, or drastically reduced, the potential of W3/W4.

I really wish they remade Warcraft I & II. If they do Warcraft IV, I can see 2 directions: 1) they can do a between III & WoW have a Scarlet Crusade Campaign, the establishment of both the Horde and the Alliance, to show all how each race join specially how Stormwind got involved. 2) retale the stories from previous expansion from WoW in RTS form.

I hope they start making new expansion for warcraft 3 to retcon all the shitty stories from end of Legion until now.

So the company that publicly stated they have big issues with their Warfraft 3 engine they turned into WoW engine they turned into Overwatch engine now want to do a Warcraft 4? Let me guess, it will be technologically like it released 10 years ago, they will have heavy monetization and they will be like "oh game dev is hard ok? we cant keep our promises!" while delivering just 20 % of an actual A game. Oh and of course there will be a digital deluxe edition that increases your size in WoW or something.
Yes! I'll let my heart be put out on the line for this one. Hopefully Microsoft insures this games quality. I know it's a pipe dream but it's all we got left.

Imagine believing anything hype can come out of Activision. Reminder that not a single dev which worked on wc3, currently works at "blizzard" aka Activision.
I suppose if warcraft 4 will come out the story will be what happened between warcraft 3 and world of warcraft (4 years as stated in original wow cinematic) at least that would be logical but who knows what will happen

I like for wow to get a big time skip like a 500-1000 years to there the point where the people in wow forget about the players and in the time skip they can put warcraft 4 RTS game giving the story of what happpen

I can not see them doing a Warcraft 4 or a new rts game. The biggest thing that they could do is delete Warcraft Reforged and apologize for it and do a true and proper Warcraft 3 remaster, they could even go further and remaster Warcraft 1/2 and include it with Warcraft 3.
if they really do a new campaign for WC3 how about one with the backside of Azeroth with new playable factions e.g. the Arathi, titan heretics, the natives of the backside
sorry, just thought it would be a good way to introduce players to some of the things on the backside until we get there in WoW (possibly)
I'd rather wait before we see anything concrete. They had a chance with Reforged to make something great, just like Age of Empires did, and they ruined.

If there is an actual WC4, I wish it would be an AU (chromie verse?) following WC3 where we don't kill KT and his friends, keep the undead and NE factions relevant, and Arthas not being his cartoon villain self in wrath.
