But he was in the closet and gay and didn’t come out publicly because it would ruin his career at that time.
Hard to believe he had a recurring role as Lieutenant Adam Tobias on Mannix at the same time he played Mr. Brady. He was busy at work. The Brady house was also often featured on the show - belonging to various characters on the episodes.
An example of a delusional older brother thinking he's actually in a position to tell younger siblings what they can and can't do---particularly sisters. Both parents stepped in, didn't overreact, and presented a united front in their disapproval. They put Greg in his place without demoralizing him. Good parenting there.
It’s hard because sometimes older siblings know what their friends or acquaintances are like and try to protect their siblings from betrayal or being used. A similar thing happened on Growing Pains and Family Ties.

I saw this dynamic with my ex husband interacting with his younger brothers. Here, Greg isn't even interested in Marcia's response, only in being dictatorial--and that only brings out the worst in some people.

If he had given Marcia a chance to explain first rather than open his big mouth, he would've known firsthand that Marcia didn't even want to date Warren Mullaney anymore on account of him, and none of this would've happened! And to make matters worse, Greg invited Marcia's worst enemy just to get back at her for inviting his worst enemy.
Let's hope that when Greg and Marcia went to try and find Warren and Kathy to apologize to them, that Greg apologized to Marcia for not letting her tell him that she no longer wanted to see Warren.

Greg was acting like an utter idiot in this scene! He needed a few harsh reminders to help him get his head out of Marcia's face, and Carol and Mike delivered on that just perfectly! Top-notch parenting there!

@@wildmike951 ninth grade was part of the junior high school so she could have been 15 while there. In general though, the age differences for all the kids are not consistent throughout the entire series.
When I watched this as a kid, I actually believed Warren was a jerk just because Greg said so. Its obvious Greg is having a pity party and Warren has no animosity towards Greg.
How come this show never won Emmy Awards? The acting was brilliant by all!
